Gang Zhi sighed in frustration as he lay back in his swivel chair the wind brushing against his dark hair. It had been days since he saw Hao Tieng, his heart and body ached to see Hao Tieng's face again. The only person that got him out of his shell and made him feel anything other than anger, sadness and emptiness. He wanted to go back to Hao Tieng. Run all the way there if he had to. This person he had just known for a few months had made him genuinely happy in just that short time. How he wished he could be in Hao Tieng's arms instead of staying at work and listening to Yung Jen's constant mumbles about their missing aunt. Gang Zhi didn't really get why Yung Jen was stressing over the issue so much. This wasn't the first time their aunt had mysteriously disappeared without a word or a goodbye note. She once disappeared for more than six months but Yung Jen kept on burbling about an odd looking man that took their aunt away or in Yung Jen's words 'That odd man kidnapped our aunt' she mumbled day and night giving Gang Zhi a huge headache. How much he wanted to see that face again that made his heart flip, jumbled all his rational thoughts to utter gibberish and kiss those plump full lips again. He didn't even know if Hao Tieng had connected with his Dragon. Whenever he brought up the topic during their late night calls, Hao Tieng immediately changed the topic.
These three days he stayed away from Hao Tieng were the worst. He had so much work to do in the company and still had to play detective after work. He thought finding out Ling's murderer and punishing the culprit accordingly would be the end of that topic but the murderer turned out to be the least person he expected. Bi Yu's mother, Bao Chang.
The quarrelling Bi Yu had heard between her parents wasn't over something petty.
Turns out Bao Chang didn't like the idea of her child's guardian after they were out of this world being a blood thirsty vampire that went on a full rampage back in the 1960s. The shameless Bao Chang had gotten tired of her husband sticking to the idea and since it seemed impossible to convince him otherwise. She decided to poison her husband and blame the death on Gang Zhi knowing full well that Bi Yu would come after him. 'Shameless woman' he mused. Not having a single idea on how he was going to break the news to poor Bi Yu.
He was still gawking at Hao Tieng's photo which he had taken before leaving the lad, when an infuriated Yung Jen barged into his office, a dark aura exiting off of her.
"What's wrong with you? What did my poor door do to you?" Gang Zhi asked placing his phone into his pocket, leaning forward towards the huge pile of files he had to go through, making himself look busy.
"My heel broke off in the middle of the cafeteria and everyone laughed at me , no one helped me. I had to go back to my car barefooted all the way to the parking lot and get my flats. I feel so damn ashamed. We have no gentlemen in this company. I want you to fire all the men in the company and hire new ones. Make sure the ones you hire are gentlemen." Yung Jen seethed lying on the comfy couch.
"I'm not firing my employees just because your worry for your beloved aunt has turned into sheer anger." Gang Zhi hissed.
"You used to fire employees for senseless reasons. Those people have laughed at me.Why can't you just do this tiny favor for me? I'm so embarrassed!!!!!!"
"What did you expect them to do? Run to save you like a damsel in distress.... Grow up already Yung Jen and stop worrying about aunt all the time. I don't want my sister looking like an old woman when you haven't found your mate yet."
"Ahhhhhh!!!!" Yung Jen yelled. 'He's right...Aunt is probably fine. I'm worrying for no good reason.' she mused calming herself done.
"You have been in a good mood since you came back. What happened between you and Hao Tieng that got you smiling like a little girl on Christmas morning?" Yung Jen asked trying to read her brother's face.
"What makes you assume I'm like this because of Hao Tieng?" Gang Zhi asked.
"I've noticed you look happier since he showed up in your life and don't think I didn't notice your new wallpaper or your late night calls with him. Next time you want to answer a call from Hao Tieng in that oversized mansion, you should go to the soundproofed room or else I'm gonna keep on listening in on your conversations."
"You shouldn't eavesdrop on adults' conversations. It's rude."
"I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I was just too bored and you guys kept on talking and talking. It was hard not to eavesdrop..... So.... Is my heart-stoned brother falling for his assistant." Yung Jen teased.
"Don't ask questions you already know the answers to?"
"Oiiiiii..so am right. Big brother finally fell for someone... Uhhhh" she heaved pouting. "How can an ice statue like you find love before me.?"
"What are you pouting for? You have a lot of men drooling over you and marriage proposals stacked up."
"I don't want any of them. I want to find true love."
"Maybe I could set you up with Hao Tieng's brother. He seemed single. You'd make a perfect match since your both annoying."
"Brother, you've forgotten I'm not interested in men at all." she said pouting even more then started laughing out of nowhere. "I wonder what Mom would've thought about having two gay children." she said smiling.
"Three children...plus Quang Ho. He's also gay." Gang Zhi said still looking through the files. "I think she would've understood and supported us." he added remembering his mom's good nature.
"BTW, I was thinking of inviting Quang Ho over so we can make up." Gang Zhi reluctantly said.
"Really!!!! Your pride is finally going to let you apologise... Great!!! I'm going to call him right now since you don't have his number." Yung Jen said tapping her phone screen gently. "He'll be here by tomorrow evening." Yung Jen said hanging up the phone. "We're going to be a family again!!!!" she exclaimed rushing over to her brother, pulling him in a hug.
'Its what Mom would've wanted' Gang Zhi thought.
