It was a cold night, sounds of trees rustling, ambulance sirens from the nearest hospital were heard as several ambulances passed by him, but, the cold breeze didn't seem to bother a certain blonde as he strolled down the not so dark alley. He had left Hao Tieng's place that morning after witnessing the couple's intimacy and at that moment he had promised himself not to see Hao Tieng again not even on a video call till he found a new love interest or particularly got over him. Looking up at the night sky, a smile formed on his face. There were so many stars in the sky that night as the full moon glowed giving out it's own light. He could hear howls in the not so dead night which meant the werewolves had probably wolfed out. Bing Wen let out a heaved sigh as he stared at the sky, enjoying the loud howls. He could feel his magic in his body as it begged to be used, it had been long since he used his magic. Since he was always around Hao Tieng for about six years or buried in client's cases as some really took a toll on him, he didn't really use his magic that much.
He let out another frustrated sigh as he recalled he had to go to court tomorrow, it was nice to be back home in Shanghai but court days took all his physical and mental energy. Sometimes he wondered why he had chosen this profession in the first place but he really loved debating and fighting for the innocent/framed.
He broke his gaze at the sky, continuing his night jog this time going further into a dark neighborhood. He could hear animals rustling in the trash cans, people yelling but what really caught his attention, were the grunts and muffled sounds of someone hissing in pain. He followed the sounds which led into a slightly light up alley where he came face to face with four bulk shouldered guys sticking it up to a broad shouldered dude lying on the floor. They kept on punching, kicking, spitting and name-calling. One guy yelled "stupid fag!!" as he continued kicking. That word really angered Bing Wen. So this dude was getting the beating of his life just because he was gay. Totally unfair. He hated such people, crazy homophobes who didn't understand that love had no gender. The guys didn't seem to notice him as they just kept on beating up the dude.
He was angry and sad but mostly angry. He could feel his magic flare up again begging to be used. He needed an outlet and he needed it now. "Why don't you try beating up someone who can fight back?" he said leaning against a wall. The guys stopped for about a minute, scanning the intruder from top to bottom then continued with what they're doing.
"Stay out of this City boy." one with a goatee hissed.
"I suggest you stop what you're doing and settle this the easy way or..... I could do this the hard way." Bing Wen said wearing a Damon Salvatore grin on his face.
"Don't make me repeat myself City boy. Didn't your mama ever teach you not to interfere in other people's business." one with a black leather jacket with a serpent at the back, who seemed like the leader, hissed.
"Hard way it is then.." Bing Wen said closing his eyes and connected with nature. He could feel the strong wind around him. Flashing his eyes open, the iris was nowhere to be seen. His eyes were a glowing white as he stared at his targets. Murmuring some spells, he started with the leader of the group. The sound of cracking bones and screaming was heard as Bing Wen broke and re-arranged every bone in the guys body, doing the same to the rest.
After the torturing they had just received, they ran for their lives, tripping over stuff on the way not sparing a single glance back.
It felt good to finally use his magic again. Going back to normal, he headed for the guy, kneeling down infront of him. "Are you okay?" he asked the guy who had his head in-between his knees. After what seemed like forever, the guy finally answered.
"Why did you help me? I wanted them to beat me up." the guy's croaky voice came out, rising his head to look at the person who helped him. Bing Wen was taken a back by the guy's beauty. Grey doe-like eyes, black long curly hair, thin lips and a perfect semmentric pointed nose. What really shocked him though was that the guy had no bruises at all not even one on his perfect acne free face.
"I just wanted to help. If I had known you didn't want any help, I wouldn't have bothered." Bing Wen snorted. "You don't have any bruises though.....so ...am guessing your a--" he added but was rudely cut off.
"Yeah... I'm a vampire and your a warlock. All the warlock's I've met before were clever but it seems you didn't get that trait did you?"
"I help you and I get insults as a reward. What a perfect day!"
"I didn't ask you to help me!!" he growled his eyes turning to black silver. This Ofcourse didn't go unseen to Bing Wen
" I've never heard of a vampire that changes eye color. What are you?"
"None of your business." he said standing up.
"I should've just stayed home tonight." Bing Wen sighed.
"Yeah. You should have."
"You know what? I'm not gonna stand here and stand a stranger's arrogance. Especially an ungrateful one like y--" Bing Wen stated but was cut off when both his and the stranger's phone rung at the same time. They gave each other weird looks before Bing Wen answered his.
"Yeah... I can't tomorrow I have to go to court...I can't postpone it my client and the judge won't allow that ... I'll see what I can do... I'll call him tomorrow to congratulate him..... Okay... Goodbye." Bing Wen hung up the phone and let the stranger alone, continuing with his jogging. 'Damn that arrogant guy' he mused disappearing into the dead of the night
The stranger's phone rung again. Looking at the caller ID a small smile formed on his face as he answered the call.
"Hello.....Yeah I'm done with work, I'll be back home tomorrow...I don't know if I'll make it by dinner time but I'll try. What's so important anyway?.....But Gang Zhi and Quang Ho hate each other. They're going to rip each other apart.....Haha Ok I'll try my best.good night." he hung up the phone running towards the opposite direction at light speed. 'Blonde ruined everything!' he mused.
***********
"Yung Tang said he'd try his best to make it to dinner." Yung Jen informed his brother.
"Okay. Now could you leave I have things to do." Gang Zhi said sparing his sister a quick glance then got back to his work.
"Can't you ever just ask nicely or do you only do that for your beloved Hao Tieng." she teased ."Anyways I also have a dinner to plan. I'm not leaving you because you asked me to just so you know." Yung Jen said stomping out of the office.
It had been days since he talked to Hao Tieng and Gang Zhi was barely keeping a straight mind. Frustrated with work, he picked up his phone dialing the only person he wanted to talk to right at that moment.
