Chapter 14 - 1970s

"I don't understand why we have to shop for a ridiculous party." Hao Tieng suggested feeling cooped up in the back seat. He thought seating in the back seat would be better plus he would be able to glance at Gang Zhi through the rear view mirror without him noticing.

"If you gonna stare at me all night atleast do it right and we do need to go shopping for the party. I don't think you have any clothes people in the 70s put on. The only thing in your bloody wardrobe are business suits and Jumpers. You don't have any designer clothes. It's like you have no fashion sense." Gang Zhi fired back parking the car next to a vintage store.

"I don't have any time to go shopping for designer clothes. The only time I have is for work and sleep. What would a person like me do with designer clothes? It's not like I have a lot of friends that I'd go out with or anything like that." Hao Tieng said feeling slightly angry at Gang Zhi's words. 'How dare he say that I have no fashion sense?' he thought to himself. Gang Zhi noticed his assistant's slightly pouty face and thought about how adorable he looked right now.

"I didn't mean to say it like that." Gang Zhi said feeling terrible at his first choice of words. "I just thought that youngsters like you have a lot of designer clothes lying around in your closet." he added .Hao Tieng shot him a deadly look and decided to look back at the window.

"Youngsters like me" Hao Tieng scoffed at this." Your like 2 years older than me and your calling me a youngster. We're practically the same age." he added . Gang Zhi wanted to burst into laughter when he heard Hao Tieng's words. 'practically the same age' he thought to himself this time not holding back the laughter. "You really know how to make me laugh" Gang Zhi said while stepping out of the car. Hao Tieng stayed in for a short while, thinking why Gang Zhi would laugh so hard after mentioning their age difference. He wondered if he had said anything funny but he hadn't. 'So then why did Gang Zhi laugh so hard?' he thought to himself before his thoughts were interrupted. Gang Zhi opened the car door for him gesturing him to come out.

"Come on out. You don't want to be late for the party do you? " he ordered. Hao Tieng quickly come out of the car. The car door behind him shut as he walked side by side with Gang Zhi still thinking about what could make Gang Zhi laugh so hard. Gang Zhi noticed Hao Tieng deep in thought and couldn't hold back asking although he could just read his mind.

"What's wrong with you? You seemed buried in thought." Gang Zhi asked.

"Nothing I'm just tired." Hao Tieng answered trying so hard to avoid eye contact with Gang Zhi's captivating eyes. He was buried in thought again when he felt long arms carrying him off his feet bridal style. Hao Tieng's eyes grew even bigger at this. "What are you doing Gang Zhi? Put me down." he commanded

"You just said your tired so I decided to help you out." Gang Zhi said looking down at the blushing man in his arms, holding him even tighter this time.

"That didn't mean that I wanted you to carry me. I'm not a young kid that I can't walk by myself. Put me down. People are staring. I can't imagine what they must be thinking of us." he said feeling embarrassed yet still willing to stay in Gang Zhi's arms, feeling his slender fingers at his thigh sending tingles all over his body. Gang Zhi looked down again at Hao Tieng..

"You care too much about what other people think of you. You should learn how to enjoy the moment, your life. Life is too short to care all the time." Gang Zhi said pulling Hao Tieng even higher. Hao Tieng unconsciously wrapped his arms around his neck and buried his blushing face in the crook of his neck. He really cared too much about what people thought of him. He always wanted to make a first good impression on everyone he met. He buried his head even deeper and wondered why the bloody vintage store had to be so far from it's parking lot.

The vintage store was really petite and well organized. It had everything vintage. Vintage movies, clothes, shoes, antiques anything that had to do with vintage, you were definitely gonna find it here. A small lady in her 50s came over and her eyes flew open with joy when she saw Gang Zhi. "Ohhh hunny. You haven't been here in a long time I thought you had forgotten all about me." she said as she pinched Gang Zhi's cheeks. "Tell me what have you come to get." she asked

"I'm looking for some party clothes that would fit the 70s." Gang Zhi answered looking over at Hao Tieng.

"Ohh" the woman said while shaking her head. " And who is this?" she asked.

"He's my boyfriend" Gang Zhi answered while wearing a grin. "Awwww he's so cute. You two make a lovely couple. Okay right this way. I think I have what your looking for." she said and walked away.

Gang Zhi followed her but Hao Tieng stayed still like a mannequin. 'WTF'he thought to himself.

"Boyfriend" he said to himself
