Chapter 18 - Avoiding you

Gang Zhi stood there like a little kid as his aunt reprimanded him. What had he done wrong? Hao Tieng gave him his blood willingly it's not like he had forced him into it or anything like that. 'I hope Yung Jen doesn't erase all his memories of me. I just found him I don't want to lose him.' he thought.

"You have to stay away from him." his aunt said. Gang Zhi faced her as her eyes screamed out anger and his , utmost innocence. " I can't do that" he said, hoping his aunt wasn't going to bring up the topic again.

"Gang Zhi. I don't want to do this to you. I know he's the reason why you didn't rip your brother's heart out but he's also the reason you lost your temper in the first place." she said sincerely.

"It was all Quang Ho's fault. He's the one that pissed me off. You can't do this to me. Don't you see that he's the only ray of sunshine I have in my forsaken life."

"Okay. Let's say I let you run to your little boy.

You wouldn't be able to resist his blood now that you've tasted it. You'll end up hurting him and yourself in the process. Please listen to me this once. It's for your own good." and with those words his aunt disappeared from his room.

Gang Zhi sat there in silence for about 40mins replaying his aunt's words in his head, remembering how Hao Tieng's blood tasted.

Was he really thinking of avoiding Hao Tieng?

He didn't want to let him go but the more he thought, the more things made sense. If he didn't stay away from Hao Tieng he may end up riping his head off and just like that his decision was made. He was going to stay away from Hao Tieng.

************

Yung Jen had just reached Hao Tieng's apartment. She would've gotten there sooner but she kept on getting lost on the way and Hao Tieng wasn't really in the mood to talk to her or give her directions. So she had to read his mind.

"Are you gonna erase my memory?" Hao Tieng asked as soon as he reached home.

Yung Jen kept on asking herself the same question. Was she really going to erase the memory of the only person that Gang Zhi listened to ? It wasn't an option.

"No." she answered

"Really! " Hao Tieng exclaimed with a huge smile.

"Yap. My aunt is just paranoid. She doesn't want Gang Zhi to return to his old self but she also doesn't know that you may actually be the only person that could change Gang Zhi permanently. But you'll have to stay away from Gang Zhi. You shouldn't come looking for him .

"Does that mean that I shouldn't come to work?" I can't just avoid him like nothing happened."

"I know but if my aunt finds out that you actually remember everything she'll kill me.

You can come to work , my aunt never shows up there anyway and we have a huge business deal on Monday so you have to come . It's compulsory."

"But if am supposed to avoid Gang Zhi then why should I come to work? "

"Because am pretty sure my aunt has already convinced to stay away from you and he probably won't show up at work anyway..... Goodnight Hao Tieng."

After removing the hideous outfit he had put on and taking a long cold shower, he sat down on his bed replaying everything that had happened. He wondered if things would've been different if he hadn't gone to the party. Yung Jen's words were really getting to him.

'Is Gang Zhi really going to avoid me? And after he made me fall for him?' he thought.

After hours of thinking, he looked at his arm to see the two red bites there. He closed his eyes and remembered how good it felt to have Gang Zhi's fangs inside him and he fell asleep.

The weekend was finally over and Hao Tieng was angry and confused. Gang Zhi didn't call or text him at all for the rest of the weekend. Hao Tieng considered going to his house and look for him but he remembered Yung Jen's words.

He dressed up, drank some coffee and rushed to work hoping that he would Gang Zhi there.

The meeting went pretty well. The investors were happy with the designs and were willing to pay a huge sum of money. Hao Tieng was desperately waiting for Gang Zhi to show up all day but the handsome man never showed up not to mention that Yung Jen also avoided him like the plague.

Work hours were over but he didn't want to go home just yet. He looked out the window next to his desk and closed his eyes, remembering Gang Zhi's face. He let out a heavy breath and opened his eyes only to see a dark figure standing outside. He squinted his eyes to get a clear look of who it was but as soon as he saw that it was Gang Zhi ,he disappeared just like that.

He ran out to see if he could find him but Gang Zhi was nowhere to be found.

Every part of Hao Tieng's body hurt but his heart hurt the most. If Gang Zhi was going to watch over him in the shadows then he had to force him to show himself again. Even if it meant putting his life in danger.
