Chapter 6 - It starts

After tailing Garen for two days Roland returned to his home and laid low for a while. Of course he still kept an close eye on Garen so that he doesn't change the location of his item Roland wants to acquire. He spent the next couple of days watching the pathing of the guards and when they switch shifts. Once he had the feeling that nothing could go wrong it was time for the heist. He snuck around the guards easily and waited patiently for the other shift to start to get trough the heaviest guarded area, the main door. "I mean why should I go in through the back like some kind of thief when I just want to take some compensation for the damage he has done to me and my pride?" Roland thought to himself.

He snuck in through the main door and stood now in the entrance hall to the kingsguard estate. He took a quick look around and saw many things alone in this one room which far surpassed the value of all citizens living in the slums combined. "Petty, greedy nobles". Now it was time to look for the item. "Wonder why he hasn't taken it to the palace." Roland mumbled while searching room for room while sneaking by guards. He reached a door with fifteen locks. "This gotta be the room!" he mumbled while fiddeling with his lockpicks. On the fourteenth and fifteenth lock he noticed something and put on a pair of goggles which allowed him to see magic for a certain amount of time before the need to be recharged. "Of course it wouldn't be this easy..."

He followed the traces of magic which led him to a room littered with magic items that disturbed the goggles so much that he couldn't wear them anymore this heist so he had to search for the magic key to those two locks without help. While searching every nock and cranny of the room and picking up some small magic items hear and there he wondered why one of the highest standing demacian families which hate magic to the core would have so many lying around and even use it to secure their home. "Well nothing I can do about it. Gotta find those keys" while lockpicking a drawer and finally finding the keys. "Why would he lock it with magic keys just to keep them in a normaly locked drawer? Both in the same one even?" he thought while he snuck back to the door.
