Chapter 4 - Chapter Three: The Boy Next Door

Okay so its really really really not what you think. Frankly we stopped being friends along time ago and I haven't even talked to him in years. But he's a part of alot of the dumb stories and hijinks I get into so I need to Introduce the Character and that was the only chapter name I could think of.

Actually this wasn't really true, he didn't live next door, but I lived next to a lot, the town was going to turn it into a road but they didn't and now kids play in it. He lived on a house on the street behind mine, so he lived diagonally from me. But he had a really big backyard and it opened on to my street which is a dead end. The street his house was on was really busy so more then often he just played on what he called "the back street" with me. I lived on the top of a hill and at the end of a dead end. At the top of the hill (where I lived) the road leveled out and made a little circle to turn around. We called it "the circle". There are a lot of very original names in this story.

His name was Gabe. And his parents were super cool, they smoked and fixed up cars and had dreadlocks and motors cycles. he had a ginormous trampoline in his back yard and an above ground pool.

So we were good friends, not in school of course, no he was too cool to hang out with me in school. But after school we were just two idiot ten year-olds. I would often invite myself over, walk through their backyard and knock on their back door. when he wasn't there sometimes I would play on his trampoline anyway because, well, its a fun trampoline and I'm a kid what did you expect?

So me and this idiot did a lot of stupid things, admittedly he did most of the stupid things and i watched but still. So I lived on the top of a hill, it was also a dead end, and most of my childhood I was told to never ride a bike down the hill because I would loose control and crash into something. I still don't know how to ride a bike. But this story starts with a LittleTikes roller coaster and a small swing set with a slide.

So what we did was we set the coaster track at the bottom of the slide and brought the coaster car up to the top and we pushed it down. Nothing exploded so we took it as a good sign. We then took turns riding down this death trap and after that adrenaline rush got boring we took our act on the rode.

Side note: I have no idea how my parents never spotted us, but I do know that my little sister (who was at most five at the time, did like to hang out and watch us do stupid shit)

So we lived on a hill. and don't ask me how he thought this was a good idea but he decided to ride this LittleTikes coaster car down the hill. Remember, this was a dead end, we didn't get many people on our street. But it still happened. Still I just remember saying "You know your gonna die right?" at the time he had long dread locks and his hair was like dirty blonde (its not important it just sets the scene) and he had this shit eating grin on his face as he pushed off. Now this thing couldn't steer so I don't know what he thought he was gonna do if a car did come but that wasn't a problem because the little car swerved out of nowhere and he "crashed" into someone's yard. he righted himself and went on and man he was going really fast. thankfully no cars were coming and by the time he reached the bottom of the hill he was a stick figure and far out of yelling range. He hiked back up and proudly proclaimed

"See I didn't die!"

This isn't the the last time he did this and honestly I think he sometimes took it from our backyard but I didn't really care.

This also wasn't the last time we played in the road, actually now that I think of it we played in the street more than we played our yards. So expect a lot more stories about playing in the road with my idiot neighbor.

That's all for now!

Love Ya,
