Mira's vibrant mood slowly dropped as she narrated the whole story to Rose, not missing one detail out of it. Rose kept crying and crying, rubbing each tear off as it fell from her eyes. She didn't know the consequences of her reckless actions would be that grave "This is all my fault!" she said.
"It's not your fault Mi Princesa"
"Yes, it is Mira! Because of me, Michael's mother might die, Fredrick almost lost his job, he also got slapped. Because of me, you both are probably having the biggest fight ever just 3 days after he proposed! And, because of me, my parent's delicate marriage might be in a wreck! Why o why? Rose, why do you always have to be so stubborn? If you had just attended the ball like you were supposed to, none of this would have happened"
"Mi Princesa, Fredrick and I are not fight-"
"I can't take you for your word Mira. Even if you both were fighting, you'd never tell me. Considering I'm the one who caused it!"
"Are you calling me a liar now Princesa?"
"No, no, no Mira, all I'm saying is that I just can't take your word"
"Sigh...I can assure you Princesa, we are not fighting. You can go talk to him to see for yourself."
"Yes, I'll go see him later and I'll apologize to him as well. And Michael? I'll have to apologize to him. They do say an apology goes a long way I just hope he won't hate me for life"
"That's a really good idea Mi Princesa. In fact, I could even prepare a basket full of food for you to take with you along the day you're going"
"That's nice."
"Yes. Now, tell me. What made you cry before you came here?"
"The king"
Rose always called the king 'dad' whether there were important commanders around or press, she'd always call him dad except on special days.
Whenever Rose addressed her father by his title, Mira would know that the king had done something to hurt Rose in some way.
Rose hugged Mira before continuing. Now, Mira was sure he had done something.
"He's making me marry the next guy he thinks is eligible enough to marry me," Rose said as she pulled away from Mira.
"And how do you feel about this?"
"BAD!"
"Mi Princesa, you don't know what destiny might unfold for you. It might just surprise you that the next guy would be the one. I'm not saying he's going to be the one, I'm just saying that you should just be open-minded and not wish bad for yourself. After all, it's what a fella wants that the world will give him. Just meet him first then, we'll know what to do"
"Mira, we both know he's gonna be just like the others!"
"You can never be too sure. Sometimes, destiny might decide to surprise you"
"Ok. But, what if destiny doesn't surprise me and, brings me one just like the others!"
"There's a reason for everything that happens in this world. There's a reason for why destiny allowed you to sneak out, there's a reason for why destiny gave your father the idea of getting you married so soon. And if, the guy that comes isn't what you want. Then, there'll be a reason for it too. And it's going to be a good one at that"
Rose didn't know what to say, do or think at that point. She didn't know whether she should be feeling happy or sad for herself anymore. She couldn't figure out whether she should be expectant of the day or dread the day.
Mira watched her worriedly. She knew Rose was probably contemplating what to feel about what she just said. She didn't want Rose to think too much about it so, she distracted her by saying. "Now, tell me. What happened at the bar?"
Rose's attention was turned back to Mira and out of the blue, Rose started to blush. Mira's pupils turned as big as saucers. She had never seen Rose blush before. She was very very surprised. "Do I see you blushing,? Something happened yesterday! Tell me please" Mira said.
Rose just started to blush even harder at what Mira said. "Rose! Please tell me what happened yesterday! I can see you blushing even harder. Did you meet someone?" Mira said.
Rose still didn't answer it was as if she was shy about the topic and adamant Mira was not going to be left in the dark.
So, she shook Rose as hard as she could as if she was shaking the answer right out of her. She added nagging to it. Until Rose couldn't have it anymore.
"Mira...Mira enough. Please, stop shaking me. I can already feel my brain trying to come out of my ear" said Rose. Mira immediately stopped shaking her and looked at her with eager eyes saying "Good. Now, I'm listening"
"And here I was thinking I was the one who likes to gossip"
"No. No. No Mi Princesa, this is different from gossiping. This is what you call two friends trying to catch up."
"Whatever you call it Mira"
"Enough with this dilly-dally tell me what happened yesterday that's making you blush this much"
Rose started to blush once more telling Mira everything that happened yesterday at Bernie's Beer Palace and Mr. Good Looks she told her everything....that she could remember.
"OMG! Rose he sounds really....cute-"
"You're practically married already Mira"
"I know but still, that was really cute of him and you. Soooo did you guys make any plans of seeing each other again?"
"That's the problem, Mira, I was drunk so I can't really pinpoint whether we arranged that or not. And the answer is most likely not because, even if I suggested something like that, he'd never agree. And let's even take a big leap of faith and say he did agree, how will I even ever see him again. It's practically next to impossible to leave this palace now."
"Ok but tell me one thing. Do you like him?"
"I don't know Mira...I just met him."
"I'm sure the answer is yes, because, by the way you're blushing, it's obvious that you really really really like him"
"I was drunk Mira. Besides, I'll probably never meet him again so, there's no need putting him to heart"
"You can never be too sure Mi Princesa, sometimes, destiny may decide to surprise you"
