Rose's schedule had been the same for the past two weeks. No amusement or fun, just bland.
She'd stay in her room all day, crying, feeling bad for herself and the man her father was going to get her married to - she already accepted her fate that she was going to get married to some man she would most likely not like but, she decided that once she got married to the man, she'd make his life a living hell.
She would only stop crying whenever Mira and her mom came to see her. Mira would always try to cheer her up and not to hope for the worst but, how could she help it? She felt like a prostitute. Waiting for the next available prince to come to pick her up and take her to his bed.
She never bothered going to the dining hall because she didn't want to see her father's face. He was the last person she wanted to see and she wasn't emotionally prepared to see him so, Mira would always bring food for her in her room though, she wasn't eating as much as she used to consider she was a food lover.
She only ate in small quantities because she barely ever had an appetite and it was telling on her. She was becoming leaner and leaner day by day. She also had dark circles under her eyes. Mira would try to make her eat just a little more but Rose would always tell her she was full.
During the last two weeks, she had also developed the habit of sitting on her balcony, looking at the sky and admiring the stars.
Shedding a few tears here and there and tonight was no exception.
She was wearing a grey sweatshirt which had the inscription 'Lazy Sunday' in red on it. The sweatshirt had a few ketchup stains on it but, she didn't mind as long as she was comfortable.
Her hair was in a mess. It looked as if she hadn't washed nor combed it in days, like a depressed teenager after a soul-crushing heartbreak.
She sat on the bare floor with crouched legs looking at the sky as usual. It was a moonless night and a starless one too. The night was a dark and blank one. 'Like my life' she thought.
She looked at the blank sky for another second before sighing deeply and burying her face in her knees.
She stood up from where she sat to use the restroom and by the time she went back to her balcony to continue gazing at the sky, he was there. Sitting comfortably on the bare floor with one leg crouched and the other stretched across the floor. He was wearing a white shirt and a black tie. The sleeves of his white shirt were rolled up while the knot on his tie was loose.
She stood there, staring at him with her mouth agape. She rubbed her eyes a few times because she couldn't believe them. She thought it was her imagination that was just running a little wild because of the food she wasn't eating.
She wanted to scream or say something at least but, the words were stuck in her throat. While he didn't even notice the lady who was staring at him because he was too engrossed in watching the sky.
"Y-you!" Rose was finally able to blurt out.
