He looked like a shadow in the dark and blended in completely with the dark atmosphere while he was emitting his usual cold and distant aura. The only thing stopping him from completely turning into a shadow was the white shirt he was wearing.
"Mr. Good Looks!" Rose continued. He was facing her now. Then, she started to notice some key features about him she didn't notice the night she was drunk.
His features were sharp and so were his eyes that looked like a different shade of green than she could remember. They almost looked like...Jade Green! He had an oval-shaped face and almond-shaped eyes. The color of his hair was even more brown than black if one looked a little bit closer.
They continued staring at each other while her heart was clamoring against her chest to let it out. She didn't understand why she turned nervous and intimidated by him all of a sudden. Maybe it was because he was dressed like a businessman or, because of the aura he was emitting that she was finally able to notice. She should have been questioning him about how he got into her room! Yes! She should be doing that right now.
After she was able to stabilize herself, she finally decided to ask him "H-how d-did you get -" she stammered.
"Don't worry about it, I passed through the door"
"But -"
"You probably didn't hear when the door open"
"Then how -"
"I know people"
The way he was talking, he was like a completely different person from the last time she saw him.
He looked very intimidating, commanding respect with his voice alone but, he looked gorgeous at the same time. It was hard not to stare at him with the captivating features he possessed.
She didn't believe his explanation a hundred percent but, that was the only logical explanation. 'I did run the shower for a while. Maybe that's when he came in she thought to herself.
He started to laugh at her mockingly as she wore a confused face. "Do you think I'm a vampire that flew in through the balcony or that I'm some werewolf that jumped in here or a ghost that walked through the wall? Hahaha...here I was thinking it was the alcohol you drank that made you behave childishly" and just like that, his smile faded within the blink of an eye and his attention was diverted back to the blank sky.
The annoying man Rose met at the bar was finally here. 'I have bigger things to deal with than you' Thought Rose to herself.
She didn't say anything to him and just took a deep breath and sat opposite him, maintaining her former position.
She too started to look back at the sky, lost in her thoughts once again as they sat in awkward silence.
"What are you doing here?" she asked breaking the awkward vibe around them.
He turned to look at her and, she did the same. They stared at each other for a few seconds then, they both turned their heads back to the sky simultaneously. "I'm here because I promised you I'd come back and, I'm a man of my word," he said without averting his gaze.
She turned her head to face him once he was done talking. She was absolutely confused. She didn't remember telling him anything about coming to see her. She hadn't seen him after that day!
"Why? I mean. When did I tell you that?". Another awkward silence enveloped them for a while. She kept staring at him as he just ignored her and kept looking at the sky.
A few
minutes later, he finally responded saying "The night you got drunk, I came to drop you off in your room, you made me promise I'd come to see you every day. I guess the wine you drank was that strong," he said without averting his gaze again.
Clips of the time they spent together started playing in her head. She couldn't believe she had done all that. She was embarrassed by her actions and the worst part was that she did all the with a stranger!
She immediately turned embarrassed and felt run up to her face. She cursed herself even more under her breath for taking that drink as her face turned as red as a tomato then, she buried her face in her knees out of sheer embarrassment.
She tried to stop thinking of everything they did but, the more she tried to stop, the more the events kept unfolding in her mind, sucking her deeper and deeper into an unending embarrassment.
After a while, he turned his attention towards her and he saw her reddened ears sticking out of her hair as her face was buried completely in her knees.
A smirk slowly crept up to a corner of his lips as he said "Don't worry about it. It's not like it's the first time I'm hearing things like that and I forgive you. I know you were drunk when you said all those things" he said feeling proud of himself.
She rose her head and the embarrassment died down like a collapsed skyscraper. She couldn't believe he was bluffing while she was dying of embarrassment.
