Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Eric's POV

When I met her, I had a flashback of myself and Ivy playing while we were younger. I was wondering why I suddenly remembered that when the fight began. When I saw her fight beside us, I figured she was an Irregular like Elsa who was only at the Trickster level and had betrayed 'The Master' but I was to be mistaken. After the invisible man came up to prevent our exit, I had to share with Casper (My twin) to use his power in defeating the man but the girl started sobbing as soon as my eyes returned to their original colour. She looked me straight in the eye, my locket in her hands and she asked "Lil Brother, when do you plan on coming home?" I was taken aback at the question, not that I couldn't understand it, but that I didn't know what to feel at being asked that question. "Home?" I answered without betraying my emotions "I sure am going home right now" as I walked forward. She then said "I mean when are you coming home to us?" I was visibly angry and I asked "Come back to you? Do you know how I survived since you forced me out of your family? Do you know how I felt when I awakened to my abilities? Do you even know anything?" I asked with tears running down my eyes and I said "Ivory, I can't forgive you all for that so it's better for all of us if you actually forgot my existence". I had barely finished speaking when she came up and slapped me. I made to turn away but she held me back, saying "Do you know what happened after you left? How hard we searched for you? How our parents' relationship became after you left? How inconsiderate and egotistical can you get? Eric Licht! We know we did you wrong but that doesn't mean you should hold it to heart against your sister who didn't know the full story. You should try knowing the full story before passing judgement" she said and walked back. She bid Annabelle goodbye and we went our separate ways, Ivory went home with Anthony while I returned to the academy with Annabelle. On the way, Annabelle asked me "She called you brother. What do you have to say about that?" I answered her "Exactly what she said. My name is Eric Licht and I'm the second son of Mr and Mrs Pete Licht" she then asked "So what do you mean about them rejecting you because you are an Irregular? They have been the ones sponsoring my missions since I knew them" to which I said "You don't know the full story so please don't judge anyone yet" at which I told her my entire story, from my awakening to my being rejected to my enrollment at Charlotte academy. We were back at the academy by the time I was done with my narrative to which she asked "Did you ever try going back home to them?" "No. I didn't even think about it" I answered as we went to report on the mission. After we left and went our ways, I returned to my room where Luke was leaning on the wall, apparently waiting for me. He shook me first, saying "Congratulations on your first completed mission" "Thanks man" I replied him to which he looked me straight in the eye and asked "But you never said you were a god-level. How could you keep such information from your friends?" As he spoke, Will and Castor walked in. They surrounded me and I could almost feel their bloodlust directed at me and I asked "Is that the reason you want to kill me this badly?" "We worked together for five years," Luke said "we were generally known as best friends but did you actually think you knew us?" I laughed and answered "I know that I didn't know what you guys were really after so if you don't mind sharing with me your true reason for wanting to kill me" "Kill you?" Will smiled "We just want you to join us" "And who are you guys, if I may ask?" "We are 'The Cricket', a group that focuses on gathering talented individuals and helping them grow beyond their wildest imaginations" Castor answered and I asked again "And what if I refused?" "You know," Luke began "A strong individual that doesn't belong to the Cricket does not exist. Meaning, the moment you refused to join us, you signed your death warrant" as he blasted me back with wind. Before I could regain my balance, Castor kicked me with such power that I broke through the wall into the schoolyard where Annabelle was walking with her friends. Immediately she saw me on the ground, she looked towards the direction I fell from and saw three guys that were supposed to be my friends looking down at me and they jumped down, landing over me as they dealt me punches after punches but Annabelle dragged Will away while Talia and Nat took Luke and Castor away. I got up to see them fighting but Talia and Nat were no match for Luke and Castor together. They made short work of them and faced me while Annabelle still struggled with her opponent. I looked at her and asked her if she could contact Delphine for help while I held them off which she immediately left to do. I called "Casper, let's go" and my vision was tinged green as I shared Casper's powers in order to fight them. I moved towards Will with a punch which he dodged as Castor kicked at me but I managed to block it. We kept trading techniques as we fought, me trying to defend myself and hold them off while Annabelle contacts Delphine. The moment she came, it was as if the entirety of space around us was frozen and she walked up to me, placing her hand on my forehead and chanted "The one that transcends humanity can no longer be seen as human, the one that is to be the light cannot be sealed away....." As she chanted, I could see my vision gradually become clearer but the power I was showing was identical, if not greater than the one I exhibited while sharing with Casper. She kept up her chants and I started feeling a burning sensation in my chest, it was as if something broke inside me, an intense pain engulfed me and I screamed out.
