Though Dan was sleeping sound for a few hours, at around midnight, he woke up. He felt uneasy and very thirsty. He stood up and switched don the lights. The beds which were close to him were empty.
There was no sign for Sculp, Fayette and Camb, nor there was any other evidence inside the carriage. Dan was shocked. He stared at the beds. "I should find them. I shouldn't waste time."
Dan came out with his bag and a torch. He looked around with the torch. There was no one. It was silent - very silent. Not even the insects or wolves could be heard. Nor the rustling of trees and his breath could be heard. Suddenly, there was an explosion. It came from the fort overlooking them. The moon was very big and was directly behind the fort- covering the background of the entire fort.
"They must be in the fort. I must get them."
Dan took Hadrian, out of his carriage reins. He touched Marcus' face and without looking at him back, mounted Hadrian and rode off.
There was a big wooden door at the bottom of the cliff. It was the fort's door. Dan too knew it and went inside it. Inside was a long, dark tunnel. The expanse of the tunnel was not known to Dan. But, he does know that there's something in it.
He rode Hadrian very slowly. He held his torch in one hand. He went slowly. Everything was silent. He thought nothing's gonna happen hereafter.
"Wel, well, well. Where are my friends? I am bored of..."
...NOW...
There came a HORRENDOUS ORGANISM!! It looked like a monster holding a club. Dan screamed in fear. He let go of Hadrian. The horses, who was afraid too, left the place and went out through the door. As the moment he went out, the door closed.
Realizing it was none more than a screen, he calmed down. He opened the screen and rushed forward. He ran a few steps. But, there was something unusual. There were no steps. He was about to FALL! "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" he shouted in such a way that you would have told he moaned in pain. He fell down in a pond. The pond had a creepy design. There were cobwebs around. The moment he turned, he found a knight holding a sword, overlooking him with red eyes.
He was given the third jumpscare. He shrieked and fell into the pond. The knight opened his helmet. His armoury was glittering in the faint, spooky light. His sword seemed to be very strong. But, in the faint light, Dan saw the identity of the person. It was none other than Sculp!
"Glad to meet you, sir. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I dressed up like this to hide from a few zombies who were chasing me in the hallway above this deep well"
"Whatever. Where are others?"
"They're near here. Come, I'll show you"
Dan met Fayette and Camb, sheltered in a very big dent of the walls of the well. They were alright and were camping here to be safe from other creatures.
The well was intensely filled with duckweed, and the water was somewhat green. Inside the water was small fishes. The walls were covered by moss and algae.
They tried to think of a plan to get away from here. Luckily, Sculp has stolen a bag of provisions from the zombies. They had a pickaxe and a shovel. There's no time to waste. They started digging through the dent.
After the work of 45 minutes, they entered a big hallway. They had lamps fitted to the top. It looked more like a drainage tunnel. They walked slowly. Dan forgot to think about the jumpscares and....BOOM!
Spiders, snakes, scorpions, frogs, and many other insects suddenly dropped down on them. Everyone was really scared. Fayette, however, escaped from those creepy creatures. Poor Camb didn't even like his fur getting dirty by those ants and termites. In the end, Fayette did some magic and cleaned them up. It took them almost half an hour to clear up the mess.
Without wasting time, they moved forward. While walking through the hallway. Camb found a trapdoor under the wall. It actually led them to the outside! They were all very happy. They congratulated Camb and took turns in moving through the trapdoor. Well, actually, it was tough, cause the trapdoor was way too small. So they started using the pickaxe. Dan also worked with the shovel.
Somehow, they broke the wall and Dan and Sculp crawled down through it.
They were out finally. There were steps leading to the ground. They had to use them to go down. Before the steps, was a statue of a merchant. It was weird, to have a statue of a fellow merchant here. Dan, again, without thinking twice, called out to the statue, "Hi there, my foolish friend. Why are you stuck here?"
The earth was silent for a few seconds, then, suddenly, fireballs came out from the statue. The statue turned into a dragon. Dan shrieked in fear.
He opened his eyes, still screaming in his horrendous dream. Fayette hovered up, scolding him for being so irresponsible.
Feeling ashamed, he woke up and went for a walk in the pathway leading to the mysterious fort of Capricorn...
