Chapter 53 - Chapter 51- Escape from Aquilla

"What are we gonna do now, Sculp?" asked Dan in a hoarse voice.

"Let's escape from here. Take care of the horses and always be ready with your belongings. I have a plan..."

"Bring it out"

"We will search a remote place from habitation, like an island or a high mountain, or even reside in a fort. I guess a fort's better. What do you say?"

"I guess residing in a fort is a very good idea. But, we should make sure our plane could land somewhere."

"Okay then. I guess I know a fort which could be suitable for us."

"Then let's go."

Sculp titled the plane towards the west and with full speed, propelled forward. Dan peeped through the window. He could see many explosions below and could hear many sounds like sirens, shattering of glass, explosion sounds and the screaming of people.

On their way, Sculp requested Dan to open a map of Bajista. However, he doesn't have a map. He used his magic to try creating a map. He tried the first time - nothing came. The second time he tried - nothing came. The third time he tried - nothing came. Like this, he tried 13 times but could not get it. At last, both Dan and Fayette tried together, and it worked. They got not only the map of Bajista but also the maps of other kingdoms. This would be very helpful for them. Dan packed the other maps safely into his bag and opened the map of Bajista.

"Now look for the small town of Capricorn and mark the fort of Capricorn. The town would be situated close to the border of the kingdom of Cabro."

Dan found the town and marked the fort. He thought that he found Sculp's idea. They would be close to Cabro, hence residing and working for both the kingdoms.

Dan felt that Sculp was the exact helper he wanted, for everything seemed to be going in their way. But, Dan does know that the future can change at any time.

"Do we have a runway-like structure near the fort?" Dan asked Sculp.

"Of course, we do have one. I have been to Capricorn. It was the fort that acted as a barrier for both Cabro and Bajista, but not now - it's abandoned."

It was a two-hour journey. Dan was always near the horses and made sure Hadrian and Marcus were not stressed. It was almost sunset when they flew above Capricorn. Sculp landed the plane on a concrete road beside two high mountains. The road was surrounded by brick walls on all sides. The plane stopped. Everyone from the plane got down to the floor. Dan brought the two horses slowly down the plane. He and Sculp then pushed the carriage out of the plane.

"Where do we go now?" asked Fayette.

"Into the mountains. Everybody, get into the carriage."

Everyone boarded into the carriage with their luggage. Dan pulled the veins. The horses started to move. Sculp stood near Dan to guide him. He led Dan to leave the walls from a steel gate. Sculp got down, opened it, and boarded in. What Fayette and Camb were also peeping outside. What they saw were two very high mountains and a valley between those two mountains. The mountains were snow-capped and bore pine trees and brambles. The valley also bore brambles and had a rugged terrain covered with grey-black sand.

"This, the flora and the rugged terrain of the valley is our first line of defence. I had been only walked for a mile from here. I do not actually know how the fort would be and what are its structures. Anyways, let's move on. Quick." said Sculp

It was almost 5:30 p.m. now. The sun was setting. The horses were somehow able to move across the terrain, but not at full speed. In the distance, finally, they found the Fort of Capricorn at the top of a hill, with the sun almost at the horizon. Now, the terrain was much flat and there were fewer rocks.

"Sculp, I don't think it's better to go into the fort at this time. There might be predators and monsters inside," said Dan, shuddering at the thought of it.

"Don't worry. We will be fine. I have forgotten to tell you a thing. Well, there are many animals inside this fort. It's my mi to bring you all here..."

"That's not fair! You say that we will be alright but you also say that it's dangerous in that freaking fort! Now, where should we go?"

"Umm..."

"I have an idea!" Fayette interrupted. "We would better reach the village."

"Me too. I don't wanna stroll here" said Dan, with a disagreeing note.

But, in the end, Sculp convinced those to at least stay in the valley and use the carriage as their shelter. Fayette made a campfire and Dan made a tent with the carriage and a few metal sticks. They spread out a mat and sat over there with the campfire beside them. They cooked bacon strips and bread over a grill kept above the fire. With some mustard sauce (which was the only sauce they had), they ate sandwiches. Dan cut the salmon they've caught earlier in Gorrion into squares and kept them between the sandwich. Everyone ate the sandwiches with great delight. It's mid-January. The air was still cold. They chatted for some time and went for their sleep. The surrounding was very silent as Dan's head hit the pillow. He could only hear the whistling sound of the cold air. He closed his eyes and slept sound after a very busy and action-filled day.
