When Luna was a few blocks away from the street where she saved the old man she encountered an electronics shop.
Recalling how she lost her phone at the hotel and the lacking computer back at Luna's home she decided to enter the shop.
Aiden was really generous with his money.
With the amount, he gave her she was able to buy the latest Senta phone along with the latest Berry laptop!
Some people from her class might not even have the money to buy both at the same time even after working their *ss off!
She didn't linger around the shop any longer and walked back home with the 2 new devices.
Luna's family was pretty well off. Even with her mother in the hospital, they were still living in a small apartment that had 3 decent-sized bedrooms. It was on the fourth floor so Luna took the elevator up to her floor.
When she walked by the corridor up to the security lock of apartment 407B, Sophia paused.
She entered a slight daze but no more than 20 seconds later, Sophia pushed the buttons to enter the password and heard a 'click' from the door.
Opening the door Sophia was greeted with a shoe rack on the left and a few weathered sofas in the living room.
There was even a mini coffee table in the center of the sofa. On the left of the living was the simple dining table with three chairs.
Sophia stared at the empty chairs for a little longer before her eyes lingered on the thin layer of dust that seemed to be covering the entire house.
When Lillian and Rohan entered the car accident three months ago they were both hospitalized. Lillian was kept in the ICU for a few days after emergency surgery to remove glass pieces that had pierced through her skin.
Rohan was in a much better condition but he still had to stay in the hospital for 2 days before he regained his strength.
When he came back he only stayed at home for a few hours every night before going to the company for his regular work plus a few part-time jobs he had picked up.
When the accident happened it was already the end of the school year and Luna who was in her last year of High School had already graduated with a high school diploma so after filing for a leave from school she also started taking odd jobs to earn money.
Both siblings would leave the house at sunrise and only come back to drop on the bed at around midnight.
Though they were pretty well-off they still needed money to pay for Lillian's medicine and the room fees plus the house bills.
Both siblings came to a silent agreement to work hard and earn money just to be on the safer side.
Luck wasn't on their side though. When they barely managed to pay the previous bills that had gathered from the car accident, Lillian had a cardiac arrest.
The doctors informed them of the surgery that they would need to perform within 2 weeks.
At this point, the siblings didn't know what to do.
Rohan dropped resigned from his regular job because the stress from his mother in the hospital didn't allow him to focus on the various data and meetings they have each day.
His superiors were starting to deduct from his salary so he just resigned and decided to take on more part-time jobs. He would be able to earn more if he did.
Luna also did part-time jobs and it was only yesterday that she had taken a break to attend the banquet yet it seemed that the Grey family were not satisfied with how miserable their life had become within the course of a few months.
Luna's gaze turned cold when she looked at how clean yet dusty this place house. It was after all three whole months since the last time someone cleaned the house.
Due to their busy schedules both Luna and Rohan ate outside and only came home to catch a few hours of sleep and change clothes before leaving for the day once more.
Neither had the time to clean the dust at home nor did they have time to do make a mess. If this went on for a few more weeks perhaps one wouldn't even know if someone even lived in this house or not.
Sophia decided not to think about such matters for the time being. Her priority right now was earning money for the surgery so that Luna's brother and Lillian can both come back home.
Sophia swiftly walked towards the right side of the house where her room was.
She was prepared for this from memory but open seeing just how bad the mess was Sophia was still stumped.
There were clothes all over the floor.
If one were to play the 'don't touch the lava' game in this room there wouldn't even be a single piece of land where the 'lava' has reached!
Her bed was also very messy. The cover was half on the bed and half-falling from the bed all crumpled up.
Sachi who was floating behind Sophia was also shocked. Perhaps even more so than Sophia since he didn't really have Luna's memories just explanations?
"Oh, d*mn! You are one messy kid Luna!" Even though he was surprised, Sachi was still in the mood to tease the girl who was now Luna.
{ A/N: "You dare tease the devil?" *insert evil face*
Sachi: "Yes."
A/N: *Insert amused evil smile* }
Sophia raised her hand to smack Sachi on the head but...
her hand just passed through his body.
Sophia gritted her teeth slightly before letting out a regretful sigh.
She stepped into the room and took a proper look around. She had left the phone and laptop on the coffee table in the living room so she directly started picking up clothes and making a pile on the floor.
All of them needed washing but she needed to sort them out first. As she was doing so she didn't forget about the 5G Necklace System. There was more to know about this new system that she was granted.
"Sachi, tell me more about the necklace."
Sachi was of course happy to oblige.
"I already told you the basics at the hospital." Sachi started speaking and as he did so he changed his position in the air so that it seemed as though he was laying on a solid surface that was high in the air with one of his front paws hanging and his tail swaying from side to side with rhythm.
"For me, once you complete 10 missions successfully you will be able to touch me. Same with the necklace, but that's only for you. No one else, until you gain this body for yourself."
"There are a few different types of missions. Regular and random missions and the punishment for failing a mission depends on the difficulty of the mission. Fewer points from a mission are less punishment."
"There are 10 levels of punishment. 1000 points or less is level 1 punishment, 1000-2000 points are level 2 punishment, and so on."
"Level 1- Level 2 punishment equals losing the same amount of points you would be earning. Level 3 - Level 6 punishments are harsher like not being able to speak/walk/hear/see for a week. Level 7- Level 9 punishments are more made for your specific body."
"Usually, you would be given some form of drug or condition that gives you a hard time for a while but since your body develops resistance during the first use every time, the system has made these level punishments to meet your body specifically. Each time you fail Level 7- Level 9 missions you would be given aphrodisiac that last a few days."
At this time the clothes that were scattered all over the room were now in piles on one side of the room. Luna removed the bed sheets and pillow cover for washing as well so the bed was now bare.
She had the bed sheets in her hands walking towards the door to put them in the washer/dryer in the kitchen when her body froze hearing Sachi's words. 'Aphrodisiac?'
"Level 10 punishment is..."
"Death."
Luna stiffly turned her head towards Sachi who stayed in the same spot the entire time.
"You will be given regular and random missions regularly at this time. However, there will be a Level 10 mission in order for you to gain this body like yours and if you fail you will die as punishment for failure. Luna will die for the people of this world and you will be taken back to the void to wait for a new body."
"If you complete that mission and obtain this body, you will take on missions as yourself where death will mean death for yourself. You will have no more chance to live or go back to the void."
Sachi's words threw Sophia into a sticky situation.
During the short time that she was here as Luna, she wanted to stay here. Because there were people who cared for her.
Even if their love was not for Sophia but for Luna, Sophia wanted to give them love and receive their love.
When she was talking to Lillian early that morning she missed her own mother. Moreover, she wanted to avenge Luna and keep her 'mother' happy.
Ironically, she found it easier to hate the Grey family but she didn't feel anything towards the Harper family.
Sophia didn't feel anything towards the Harper family or the scum that betrayed her. Naturally, she didn't have any plans to revenge herself.
It felt very bothersome.
They didn't have any relationships with Luna so if she just lived as Luna it would be alright. There was no need to bother about them.
Though she thought this, she felt very angry when she learned about Luna's sufferings. She felt the need to avenge Luna but not herself.
She had no plans to leave this world before avenging Luna but if she went as far as to avenge Luna, she would become Luna forever. She would be stuck in this world.
The people in this world were cruel but if she were to go about trying to avenge herself or get acquainted with the Harper family...
A slight chill ran down her body.
She suddenly felt cold. Very very cold...
Flashes of that room passed by and her body started to shiver.
Luna started shaking her head from side to side, the bed sheets on her hands were now a pool by her foot. Her hands were shaking as she incoherently mumbled 'no' over and over again.
She didn't want to see them! She feared what might happen if they saw Luna, she was already weak and suffering every day.
I-if they see her then t-they would do things even worse than the Grey family!
With a loud 'thud' Luna fell on the floor landing on her butt. She was moving back into the living room staring into space using her hands and feet, her whole body shaking miserably.
[Ding! Regular Mission Activated: Save your brother!]
[Mission Completion Reward: 2000 points!]
[Mission Failure Punishment: Level 2 Punishment: Lose 2000 points!]
Luna's body stopped trembling when she heard the ding. She woke from her daze and started at the mission panel that wanted her to save her brother.
Putting the body/identity issue to the back of her mind, Luna looked at Sachi. "What happened to my brother?"
"He encountered a bunch of hooligans while getting off work from the convenience store. They are pretty strong and large in number. If you don't hurry you can say goodbye to your brother!"
Luna who was standing on her two feet right now raised her brows. Her cold and indifferent demeanor back as if she wasn't the one trembling in fear on the ground just a few seconds ago.
Her brother was in trouble now. It was also a mission from the System.
Turning her body to grab the phone from the coffee table, Luna walked calmly towards the door. Putting on her shoes she turned her head to see the trailing Sachi floating right behind her.
A murderous smirk played on her lips. "Let's go then."
The smirk fell and she opened the door. With fast but steady steps Luna made her way towards her brother's location following the floating arrows that were in front of her.
