Chapter 43 - 42. ‘Successful Surgery’

Despite the tiny hint of doubt that the doctors and nurses had in their hearts for the new doctor, they still followed her orders properly.

Indeed after working with her for ten minutes they realized how much of a professional surgeon she was. It was as if she had done this specific type of surgery countless times in the past.

But that was impossible because this was like the sixth time this specific surgery came into place?

Was it possible that she has done this surgery the past six times that this surgery came up?

If that was indeed the case, did it mean that they were working with a veteran? Just the thought of it made their blood boil!

They get to work first-hand with such a professional surgeon! This was a one in a lifetime opportunity!

As much as they got excited about working with the doctor they soon regained their focus and worked even harder to earn her attention and even learn some things from her. After all, she was a prodigy in this surgery field and even seeing and assisting her in this surgery was akin to spending more than 100 hours theorizing about this surgery and practicing it. How could they possibly let go of this opportunity?

With their rather enthusiastic selves working even harder than ever, they managed to shorten the surgery time from seven hours to six hours. Of course, this would've been even faster had the doctor been there from the beginning of the surgery and perhaps had her team with her but alas she didn't so it took her roughly two hours to finish up.

Though some might not feel the difference, the doctors and nurses inside the surgery room were really happy that she had joined in last minute!

If she had come from the beginning she would have perhaps brought her own team and come well prepared and they wouldn't have had the chance to work with her!

When the surgery was finished the doctor left the room as though in a rush. Since it was the closing and the final finish ups that left the original docs covered for her when she left.

Getting out of the surgery room, she made a sharp turn and left the area immediately. She didn't dispose of her surgery gown and mask as a topical surgeon, instead she left for the cloak room straight away.

Technically this was also a form of norm hence the few people who were waiting outside the surgery room didn't pay her much attention.

A few minutes after going in, a rather familiar person came out with a mask on her face. It was none other than Sophia Harper in the body of Luna Grey.

She was the 'professional' and 'prodigy' doctor who had done the surgery on Lillian.

As surprising as it may seem, Sophia just happened to be quite lucky.

Back inside the void she studied medicine. All forms of it. Chinese, Western, Korean, you name it.

As long as it could cure what's the harm in using it?

Now the topics were all rather broad. However, Sophia did practice upon these blood cleansing surgeries that require one to use IT as the median to clean out the blood with the core of the body, the stomach before using the same opening of the stomach to go further in using a rather precise endoscope and a tool to carefully clean out the blood surrounding the heart.

The first part was rather easy because the opening was right there but the second half where you had to use an endoscope to see and clean out the blood was the hardest.

The cleaning tool was a sharp one that could rupture a spleen or the artery at any given point if the person handling the IT surgery machine wasn't very professional.

Sophia, who loved learning about the different forms of curing and diagnosing, had paid special attention to this type of surgery as it was the hardest and it really pumped her up.

Besides, it also involved using computers so she really paid close attention to surgeries similar to the one she just did.

Luckily, she had a rather strong control of the body or else … Lillian might've ended up a cripple or worse … dead.

During the middle of the surgery where Sophia was operating in the heart, Luna got nervous and kept stammering in her head and she couldn't focus at all!

Luckily her mental strength was rather high and she managed to block out Luna's voice or else under a moment of lost concentration, Lillian could've ended up near death if not dead.

No matter how bad Sophia felt for Luna with all the things she had experienced, a part of her was frustrated by her ignorance of such things.

She was a kind soul, yes but there were times where she was too kind that it was just ignoring other key points.

Like getting played with by her family. If she had paid a little more attention to Rohan she would've noticed the little signs of hurt he couldn't hide every so often.

As long as she paid a little more attention, she would've realized that something was wrong with him and gotten to the bottom of it and not lead up to this point where the Grey family was able to just go and level up their playtime.

If Luna held her ground a little bit more, perhaps Rohan wouldn't have ended up getting r*ped. But then again, she was also to blame.

She was Luna right now so she should've taken precautions and looked out for Rohan and Lillian from the very beginning.

Sophia let out a sigh. They were both at fault here. Luna was way too concerned and often misses out on other subtle key points whereas Sophia forgot to take precautions.

Despite accepting her fault, Sophia wished that Luna would stop being so overly concerned and pay attention to the situation.

What if she couldn't control her thoughts and her mind? Wouldn't that mean that Lillian would've ended up dead or in a coma?

No matter how worried she was, wasn't it common sense to not talk when the doctors were working?!

Well thinking about how Luna was in there because her soul was with her inside the body, Sophia couldn't blame Luna. Luna was in there watching her mother cut open as doctors put various tools and things inside her body, how was she supposed to calm down?

At the end of the day, the surgery was successful so as long as both parties admitted fault and were willing to fix their mistakes it was alright.
