"Get out." His slightly hoarse but firm voice knocked his secretary awake.
Nodding his head profusely, the secretary quickly stood up and left. He was glad that his boss only wanted him to leave the cafe floor. Considering how moody he was the past two days for not getting any sleep, he was very shocked when his only punishment for disturbing him when he felt sleepy at this time was to get out of the room! He was very confident that if it were any other time his boss would've gotten him transferred to some hellish place for some ruthless training!
Once his secretary was out of sight, Mr. Lee turned his gaze back toward the artificial wall in front of him.
It was from that place he felt the calming scent and aura coming over that made him feel slightly sleepy. His secretary was shocked that he was suddenly dozing off but he himself was even more shocked!
The past week, he had watched himself go without sleep for days before sleep finally hit him. Even though it was a short time to really conclude anything, he knew.
He knew how his body refused to sleep for more than 48 hours at a time. How; despite how tired he seemed during work hours and times he was focusing on something, a yawn barely escaped from his lips.
Even during the night when everything was calm and relaxing, his body would refuse to let out more than two yawns or even rest his eyes.
Perhaps it was just that there were less people here?
After all the past week his germaphobia had gotten quite worse, making it hard for him to contain his low-profile life.
No matter how hard he tried to convince himself that his sudden sleepiness was because of the situation and environment he was in, he just couldn't help but be curious of the person hiding behind the artificial wall.
His mind tells him that his sleepiness was merely due to the circumstances. However, in his heart he had a feeling. A feeling that told him that the person behind that artificial was the reason behind it all.
Was he wrong?
Should he go up and test his theory?
After all, he really wished it was the case. No matter if his insomnia had lasted only a week he had already tried numerous sleeping pills and remedies to help him sleep yet nothing worked.
He was fine with it.
He was really fine with not sleeping for more than 48 hours but his body was not. Eye bags followed him from place to place and his daily meetings were often not as smooth because his mood would be worse than normal from the lack of sleep.
No matter how alright he was with it, he would still be upset. He was still human after all. With headaches and exhaustion following him, how could he still have the mood to restrain his emotions and allow for a calmer working space?
He was the boss of those people. His moodiness affected him for a while hence his meetings and many other business that required him to meet with people was always through tense atmospheres. How could anything go smoothly if he was always moody and showed an ice cold face no matter how good a presentation was?
His bloodshot eyes and the black eye bags under it made him look like a devil. One that crawled from the depths of hell just to come and take you with him down the lane of hell.
The intensity in his stare disturbed Sophia behind the wall. Wondering who it was, she pulled out the system panel and looked around. Sure enough, she had gotten her answer in a matter of seconds without even leaving her seat.
'So convenient.'
Her blueish gray eyes fell on the handsome looking man who was seemingly staring in her direction. A playful smirk appeared on her lips.
'It seems that fate is on our side, Mr. Aiden Lee.'
The press conference was still ongoing at this time and it seemed as though the climax was only nearing.
Turning her gaze to the big billboard, Sophia watched the presentation continue.
On the big screen was evidence. Pictures and police approved evidence.
Evidence that clearly stated and proved that Grey Corporation was indeed dealing with illegal business.
Mainly kidnapping and selling girls. There were even drug dealings, bribery, business fraud, tax fraud, smuggling and many other accusations.
'Oh they had it good.' Sophia could only imagine the dark faces of Levi when he saw the news.
Smiling even broadly and revealing her pearl white teeth, Sophia pressed a button on the table to call for the waiter.
When he came she asked for a pen and paper. She even ordered a serving of matcha crepe cake and a matcha latte.
By the time she finished writing, her order was delivered. She stopped the young lady from placing the stuff on her table and instructed her to give the food and the note that she had just written to the table next to her.
Since the whole floor was empty of customers beside her and Aiden, the waiter naturally knew whom she wanted to give the cake to.
After the waiter left, Sophia didn't linger around. She scanned the QR plastered on the table that could be used to pay for the food she ordered through Ajipay.
By the time she was done paying, Aiden had received the food and message that she had left.
At this time, a loud but strong and dominating voice resonated within the entire floor as the closing statement was given by Mr. Kinnely at the press conference.
"The evidence was all handed over to the police for investigation and we have already confirmed their validity. For those who wish to confirm this with their own skills, the evidence is all posted online in the official webpage of Five Brothers Corp on Keibo. Thank you all for coming and listening to this last minute conference. We will be taking any questions you may have at this time. Please feel free to …"
Sophia had stood up from her seat and turned around in an aesthete dramatic moment when Mr. Kinnely said 'already confirmed their validity.' To anyone who might've seen her, they would come to feel that she was very suave when she turned around with that cold but mocking sneer that was plastered at the corner of her lips.
Like an evil mastermind behind the scene, she walked away from the table with the live broadcast still playing behind her outside the window.
Once out of the little room, she caught the gaze of Aiden who had just finished reading the note.
With a nod of acknowledgment that was returned by the dazed Aiden, Sophia left the cafe.
Aiden still looked at her straight dominating back as she confidently walked out. The note in his hands and the food that she ordered for him was the only thing that reminded him of the presence that was there before.
'Fate has given us a chance to see each other, but I must say our time is short. Please enjoy the food. If fate really exists we shall meet once more. Signed Luna.'
