There is no escape. No way to leave safely out of this place.
I left the office and headed to the front entrance.
"Hey."
I spun around and saw a figure in the doorway, the figure was crouched, in a feeble position. The figure quietly walked towards me.
"A-are you human or not?", said the figure bringing its hand up.
Human?
"What do you mean by human? Is there something wrong?" I asked in search of answers.
"Sean is that really you?", the voice questioned, unsure if it was really me or not.
Immediately I knew who the voice belonged to.
Jenny.
Jenny was my science partner, and she was always such a kind-hearted person too. She had brown hair, the tips died red. She was a pasty white and never really liked to talk anyone but me, and even that was rare.
"Jenny, if that's you, what happened here? Where is everybody?". Once I asked the last question she started to whimper.
"T-they were forced to breathe the air outside! The men in uniform made them go. Though they ones who didn't make it...well they... "she trailed off. "Where were you?"
The question was simple, but I dodged the question. "You didn't tell me where everybody is".
"Oh, yes. They're this way", she said, leading me to the auditorium. We walked down the aisle. It was quiet...too quiet. I kept the scissors close to me, just in case. As we walked down the walkway, I noticed the curtains rustling, as if there was someone behind it.
Someone came out from behind the curtain. It was a boy about my age, he had bleach blonde hair with blue eyes. His height was about 5' 1''.
"Who is this? I thought you said you weren't going to find anybody", said the boy.
"Well, that was the plan until... I found him", she looked at me with suspicion. "Anyway, he could help us, he's pretty smart and he might be able to outrun them."
"OUTRUN!", the boy laughed bitterly, "That's funny".
Ouch.
"Well, I don't see you coming up with anything", accused Jenny.
The boy stood there, quiet, unable to react to it. Wanting to justify, but he could not. A bang made us all come to reality. Along with a terrifying screech.
We all stood there for half a second before we heard feet hitting the ground in a solid sprint.
"They're inside! Run!"
