Jin's eyes flickered open, light pouring into them, revealing the sight of a familiar dojo. He heaved himself up and turned his head towards the old man, who was sitting a few feet away from him. "Why did you bring me here, old man? I want to spend more time with my brother, so please hurry this up." Jin was impatient.
The old man smiled whilst sipping his tea and began to explain, "I shall try and hurry this along quickly for you, but this is important. You have unlocked an important system feature, so I wanted to help you with it". He allowed Jin to open his system.

[Rewards: One random Medium Rank F rank weapon and ??? Tab open]

The god took another sip of his tea and praised Jin, "You did fairly well and better than expected. Anyways, shall we get your weapon first?"
He stood up and opened up a door revealing a weapon hall filled to the brim with weaponry, some Jin only had seen and heard of in legends.
With a snap, a wheel appeared in front of God, he looked towards Jin and said, "Spin the wheel that will decide your weapon, and after that we will talk about the second reward". Jin went up to the wheel, grabbing it aggressively and spinning it.
As it spun he saw regular weapons like swords, guns, spears, axes, and many more, but also some weird things like an umbrella.
He even swore he saw a pencil on it. As the wheel began to slow down, he thought it was going to land on an average sword, but it stopped slightly after it, landing on a different weapon. The Kusarigama. Jin let out a sigh, he wanted a sword.
The God spoke to Jin in a reassuring tone, "Do not be upset, this weapon suits your slicing ability mixed with your brute force". Jin was a bit skeptical, but since it was God who told him he decided to trust his decision.
God then began explaining, "The next reward is the evolution tab which can give you skills if you have enough evolution points". Jin opened his system and mentally selected the evolution tab, then opened up a random skill.

[Evolution Tab]
[Flame resistance Low Rank F]
[Cost:7 Points]
[Description unavailable until skill is unlocked]

He then looked at all the skill names and began to think intensely for 10 minutes before realizing that he had no idea what to do.
Jin looked at God and before he could say anything God sighed, "You really are that dumb, huh? Moving on, you get 1 point for every level, and most of the skills are locked since only skills that cost 1-10 points are available. Along with that, for your first purchase, I shall make it only one point, so do go on and try to figure this out yourself.".
Jin then spent an entire hour looking at all the skills and trying to decide which would suit him the best, and which sounded the coolest. In the end he chose two skills:
---------------------------
[Death Left Eye: Medium Rank F]
[Cost:10 Points]
[Description unavailable until skill is unlocked]
[Mana Right Eye: Low Rank F]
[Cost:2 Points]
[Description unavailable until skill is unlocked]
---------------------------
He bought the [Death Left Eye: Low Rank F] skill first, and used his remaining two points to get [Mana Right Eye: Low Rank F]. Soon after, his eyes began swelling up, as mana slowly seeped into them, leaving a burning sensation lingering throughout.
It felt as if all the mana in his body had been concentrated into his eyes, warping and rebuilding them. God went up to Jin and patted his shoulder.
"You did well, but you are still far away from your goal. Keep it up and get stronger, my champion. When you wake up, you will be in a hospital. Don't worry, this time there won't be an infestation of monsters.".
He said, grinning wryly. The pain overtook Jin but he still managed to grasp what God had said, smiling and giving a thumbs up as a reply, "Thank you for giving me this opportunity". He then passed out.
When Jin awoke, he was greeted by a sense of familiarity. A similar hospital bed. He slowly heaved himself off of his bed and looked outside the window, gazing at the starry night sky.
He turned his head and saw his brother sleeping and patted his head with a slight smile. Jack felt the touch and opened his eyes. Seeing that his brother was awake, he jumped up onto him, embracing him into a warm hug.
Jin let out a grunt as his body was still sore. Jack let out a soft voice, "Sorry bro, didn't think, I just wanted to hug you". Jin replied in an understanding tone,, "Don't worry buddy, this is just a scratch compared to what I have been through".
Their sweet embrace was cut short as a nurse entered the room, notifying the two brothers that visiting time was over. Jin gave his brother one final hug before sending him off and going back to sleep.
When Jin woke up he realised that he was grasping his weapon. He looked around and found his bag and threw it in. Shortly after, his brother had returned and told him about the people that had saved him.
He learned that the people who saved his brother were a group of peak F Rank hunters. After a little while talking, he told his brother to leave and have fun with his friends instead of worrying about him.
Jin looked at the window, pondering about the fact that the next 3 days were going to be hard. He had to stay hospitalized.
A slight creaking sound reverberated throughout the room as the door was opened ajar. Peeking through, he saw a 5'7 figure with emerald green hair, his eyes matching his hair colour. He revealed a radiant smile before entering the room, Jin replied with a grin and said with a playful tone, "You really took ya sweet time visiting, Boss.
I almost thought you hated me". He replied in a friendly manner and said, "Of course I care about you, I get my money because of you. But anyways, we need to be serious for a second Jin".
Jin put on a straight face when he heard the last part. He continued to talk, "I know you might want to know what happened to Rook, but sadly I can't tell you since it's classified information, only available to the higher ups".
Jin understood, he was disappointed but his boss quickly replied, "I want to let you know that in 7 days, there will be an opening for a higher position.
To get it, you must fight against your colleagues who are going to be aiming for these positions too. You can move up the ranks if you can show us what you're made of."
Jin's expression shifted from disappointment to pure excitement, knowing that he could possibly learn what had happened to his friend Rook. He jolted up from the bed and slammed upper body down into a bow and shouted, "THANK YOU BOSS SO MUCH".
His boss let out a smile and closed the door, turning around and leaving a few final words of encouragement,, "Good luck, kid".
As he left, Jin got back in bed and started to plan his training routine to get himself ready for this battle, the battle that would determine whether or not he found out the truth behind his friend's murder.
