Chapter 6 - Try to Survive Part 3

Two figures could be seen entering the building through a hole blanketed in smoke. The taller figure made his way through the hole before speaking, "We've gotta be in and out quickly, the explosion should have alerted monsters around here".

The shorter man of the two replied, his voice laced with hostility and annoyance, "Yeah yeah, bitch I get it we already went over the plan before I'm not a retard". The taller man smacked the back of his head whilst glaring at him, "Just shut up and go, you need to cover me while I get the info".

The smaller one wanted to fight back but he knew that if they spent any more time arguing, it would make his job a hundred times worse. They both made their ways up the stairs, eventually diverging.

The taller man of the two entered a room labelled whilst the latter searched around the building, peeking in and out of every room.

Jin was currently in the security room, watching them closely from the cameras. He tried questioning as to why one of them entered the Janitor's closet, but he quickly shifted his focus.

The smaller man was getting close to him. He knew that they were both leagues above him, seeing as how neither of them had any visible scars or injuries on their bodies. Jin made his way over towards the door, placing himself behind it in an attempt to hide.

The door slowly creaked open as the man entered, his gaze instantly shifted to his left where he saw a hulking figure thinking he had hidden himself in a good position.

He let out a scoff before twisting a grin in amusement, "Are you a dumbass? Did you seriously try hiding behind the door with that massive body of yours?".

Jin felt embarrassed but tried playing it off by acting tough, "Shut up, I don't have time to talk.". He wagged his finger at the man before saying "Come at me."

The intruder stared at Jin and took out two daggers, slashing them around whilst running towards him. Jin instinctively unsheathed his sword, blocking the attack.

The sound of metal reverberated throughout the room as the two weapons clashed against one another. Jin parried his attacks, one after another before lunging at him and throwing a kick.

The intruder swiftly dodged the attack and backed off, taking a moment to reposition himself and fix his stance.

A smirk was etched onto his face, he looked down at his blade before slitting his palm. Crimson blood dripped onto the floor, soon morphing into a clone of himself.

The blood clone slowly arose and instantly threw itself towards Jin. The constant onslaught of blades made it hard to keep up with what was going on.

The ground was on the verge of collapsing as Jin had used [Body Compression Low Rank F] to strike the it several times over.

The intruder grasped his clone, bending it to his will and creating a large red blade. He stabbed it into the wall to slow himself down as Jin used [Body Compression Low Rank F].

His arm ballooned up as all the mana began concentrating upon one single point. Jin drew back his fist and after a few seconds he slammed it into the wall.

A deafening boom resonated throughout the entire building as half of the wall shattered like glass. The taller intruder was alerted by the explosion and knew something was going on, but he had to prioritise obtaining the information first.

Jin grabbed his sword and dived towards the intruder who had lost his balance after the destruction of the wall. He locked his gaze on the hand that was holding the crimson sword.

Slamming his sword towards his wrist. In an instant, the intruder's sword quickly transformed into a large shield, easily deflecting Jin's sword.

Jin grabbed onto the shield with his free hand, but as he did, spikes quickly emerged out of the shield. Jin gasped in pain and looked down at his hand, spikes were protruding through it.

Jin disregarded his pain and promptly snapped off the spikes before raising his other arm, trying to stab the intruder in the gut. As his arm reached out, the shield yet again morphed into another weapon, this time a whip.

Jin analysed the situation and noticed that the intruder's side was all open. Jin stabbed his sword into the intruder's hand knowing that the intruder's side was all open stab his sword into the intruder's hand.

The blood flowed through the air and attempted to protect the intruders unguarded hand, but Jin was faster.

Now that the intruder was impaled in both hands, he placed both his hands on the intruder before using [Body Compression Low Rank F], attacking him mercilessly with no pause in between.

The onslaught of attacks didn't stop as he was left unable to defend himself. Jin kicks began having more and more impact on their surroundings and the ground below them couldn't hold out for any longer. Cracks began forming throughout the ground. With a loud crash, the ground began splitting.

Jin tried regaining his balance on the uneven floor, but it was too late. The floor had already broke. As they fell through the air, Jin hastily grabbed onto the intruder and used his body to cushion his fall.

The loud crash resonated throughout the entire building. The intruder on the upper floors quickly finished retrieving the data and made his way to the lower floors and saw a large crater in the ground. He peered through it and was greeted by the sight of his partner, unconscious and covered in blood alongside a tall dark figure.

He wanted to do something, but he knew his time was limited and said, "Okay, I don't know what you want but I know that this isn't the time to fight. This place will be surrounded by monsters in a matter of minutes".

Jin understood that this was his chance to get some help from two powerful people, so he replied in an instant, "I won't cause you trouble if you help me find my brother". The intruder thought for a second, but the benefits outweighed the losses and so he agreed to it, "Fine, since most people are at the city's evacuation centre, we can make a stop there for you".

Jin agreed and threw the man's partner to him, they walked alongside one another with an awkward gap of 5ft. Jin and the intruder made their way out of the building and set out towards the city.

Several hours had passed and not one of them had said a word, their journey so far had consisted of avoiding monsters and running.

A faint orange glow seeped through the clouds as the sun slowly began to set. They had been walking for hours upon hours and were only 1/3 of the way to their destination.

The two turned and faced one another and simply nodded, they needed to set camp. As they lit a campfire, Jin tried breaking the ice between them and initiated a conversation, " So... um I'm Jin, and you are?".

The intruder paused before replying, "Names Ray and this unconscious idiot is David". They talked for a bit more about what had happened since the beginning of the monster breakout before going to sleep for about 6 hours.

The next day consisted of them walking for almost 12 hours before finally reaching their destination.

The colossal building was heavily guarded and seemed to be able to hold at least half the city at full capacity. Jin went thanked the two people as they walked away and slowly approached the guards at the door.

One of the guards turned his head towards Jin before stating, "We are almost at max capacity sir, so if you want to go in you must show some kind of usefulness". Jin hastily replied, asking the guards if any one of them had seen his younger brother. He opened up a locket on his neck, showing a picture of his brother to the guards.

The 4 guards pondered for a moment before one of them answered his question, "Yeah I remember that kid, he went in about an hour ago with a group of peak F ranks". Jin was relieved as he exhaled and walked towards the entrance of the building. He placed his foot infront of the door before a hand aggressively pushed him back, "It's not going to be easy for you to get, in you're going to have to beat one of us."
