His dark aura held me captive. Try as I might to move, I couldn't. His fingers then beckoned me forward. My body started to move on its own towards him. He gently patted the bed space next to him, indicating for me to sit. I glanced to my brothers for help but realized they were immobilized as well. They were suspended a few feet in the air. They were trying to talk but no words came from them. It's like they were trapped in an invisible bubble of some kind.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked.
"Come, let us talk. I have a few questions to ask you myself. Had I known the entire family was here, I would have come sooner to hear more family secrets." He said.
"Just how long was he here?" I wondered. I felt a panic attack coming on if this was to continue much longer. I sat on the bed beside him and he placed his arms over my shoulders.
I watched as his eyes wondered around the room and stopped on one of the many family portraits hanged on the wall.
With a gesture of his hand over my shoulder the picture floated into his hand.
"What's the name of the baby in this picture?" he asked.
"It's of our missing brother," I said. I saw no emotion change in his face. He just nodded his head.
"Why aren't you in this picture? I notice this is the only picture you're not in." He asked.
"I wasn't born yet," I replied.
"Where and when was this taken?" he continued.
"My brothers could tell you more if you asked them." I replied.
He stared at them and seem to be communicating with them as they nodded their heads toward him. They gradually floated to the floor and sat in the chair at the bay window.
"You know what I want to know... speak!"
Jayden nodded again and began the family tale. "I will start from the day mom gave birth to our baby brother as you requested."
"Go on. Don't leave out anything I want every facet of the truth," he said.
"Why do you want to know what happened to Drako, it's not like you're him...right?" Caden said.
I gasped as I realized I never told them his name. All these years of searching and here he was sitting with us.
"Don't worry, I will answer your question at the end of the story. Now shut up and let your brother continue," he ordered. His hand flashed and immediately Cadens' lips zipped shut. His hands flew to his mouth as his eyes showed panic. A sharp curl of the lips on his capturer face indicated he enjoyed inciting fear in others. He ignored Caden for the remainder of Jaydens story.
"It was early one Sunday morning, mom and dad had just returned from battle. Mom was a fierce warrior general. The fate of other worlds most times came before her family. Something had happened on the return from their last battle for peace in Quadrant five of the Stargate solar system. Uncle Linos came for us at home and took us to the hospital. We asked him what was wrong but he wouldn't answer.
Once we reached the hospital we saw dad in the lobby. 'Dad what's happening? 'Khalisa asked as he hugged us all.
'Don't worry, all will be well,' he replied. A few minutes later a doctor came to speak with dad and uncle Linos. They smiled at each other and laughed. Uncle Linos then said, congratulations you old dog! You still got it in you.' We didn't understand what was going on and went to ask father.
'Dad what happened? Where is mother?' I had asked him. He hugged me with a huge grin on his face and said. 'Come let us go see your mother. She has a special gift for all of us'.
We loved getting presents and we wanted mom, so this was a win win situation for us. Uncle Linos trailed behind us as dad took us into a white private room. Mom was lying on the bed with a blanket in her arms making funny faces at it.
'Why is mom making funny faces at the blanket?' Caden asked.
'Why don't you ask her yourself?' Dad said.
We slowly went to mom and saw the cutest baby ever," Jayden said pausing to wipe a tear from his eyes.
"Please don't stop," He said.
"Was our capturer moved by this story?" I wondered.
"Yes of course. I need some water first. I have been talking for a while.
"Keli, can you fetch our older brother some water, please?" The intruder asked turning to me.
I nodded my head and went to the corner of my room where I had a mini fridge. On top I had room temperature water and cold water inside.
"Do you want cold or room temperature water?" I asked.
"Give him room temperature, I don't want his throat get hoarse," he ordered.
I quickly gave Jayden the bottled water and he quickly consumed it.
The intruder patted the bed again for me to sit. I moved and sat near the edge of the bed. He gave a sinister smile and felt my body move close to him which he placed his hand over my shoulders once more.
"This guy was so powerful, can't believe we are related," I thought to myself.
Jayden then continued down memory lane. I knew the story was coming to an end soon.
'Come meet our newest member to the family. Everyone meet Drako,' she smiled happily.
We all fawned over the baby. His golden eyes sparkled and he had a wind grin on his face as he made baby sounds moving his hands and feet wildly.
A knock came from mom's room door and our family nanny, Benara came in. She was so excited and came right into the room. She looked at mother who seemed to nod her head at some invisible question.
Benara gingerly took you from our mother's arms and started singing one of her baby songs she use to sing to us when we were little. Both mom and dad trusted Benara immensely, after all she helped raised us. We watched in awe as she danced around the room, while dad went to lay next to mom on the bed and kissed her cheek. He reposition her to rest her head on his chest and rubbed her shoulders and back gently."
"Okay, fast forward to a few months later before you left for this world," the boy beside me said.
"I need some more water," Jayden said and retrieved another room temperature water bottle and sat to tell the remainder of the story.
"It was time for us to watch over this world and so uncle Linos created a feast for us. The food was heavenly and everyone was so excited and sad at the same time. We were about to leave our family, friends and loved ones for long time and perhaps die trying to save all those we swore to protect. As it was getting late and we wanted to get going before it got any later. As we neared home we were greeted with thick black smoke. Every one was stunned and couldn't believe our great misfortune. We called out for Benara and Drako and we heard no response. We also lost our artillery and all our belongings we packed for the trip. It was a hard blow for us. After searching for hours we found no sign of Benara or Drako."
"Did you search other dimension or try any means necessary to communicate with Benara?" He asked and quickly wiped away what resembled a tear from his cheeks.
"We had no clue where she went or even if they were alive. We were just lost and hopeless that we lost so much in one night. We would hear no more baby laughter or watch him run as he started walking in no time. He was learning things so fast and he was so lovable and if he saw anyone sad he would touch their face and give them a hug."
"I see. Did you know Benara could communicate telepathically?" he asked.
The twins looked stunned at this revelation. I hadn't met her yet, so this was all news to me.
"How do you know this?" the twins asked in unison.
He slowly got up from the bed, turning his back to us and walked to the room door. He paused briefly placing his hand on the door knob, and replied "Because that is how she communicated with me as a baby."
"What?" Caden said. "She raised you?... just exactly who are you?"
He opened the door slightly before turning to face us, "I am your missing brother, Drako."
We all gasped in surprise. I was glad to finally have him confirm what I speculated all along. Before we could recover, Drako disappeared from our presence. We stared at each other for a very long time silently. No one moved from their seat. We just stared at the vacant doorway in disbelief.
