Chapter 16 - Enter the gifted warriors

Early morning

Sancia Mountains; Chaldia Training and Boarding Institute for the gifted.

Footsteps running from the North Gate,

"Father Venjamin, there is someone here to see Father White," a little five-year-old redhead girl said as she barged into his office.

"Did they give you their name, Rachel?" he asked. "Remember to knock next time," he reprimanded.

"I'm sorry, Father. He said he had a message from Father Leslie," she replied.

"Tell Luther to escort him to the office," he said.

She ran from his office and was back at the northern gate with in the blink of an eye.

"Luther, Father Venjamin says to escort this man to his office." she quickly said.

"Kyle, watch the gate for me, heading to Father Venjamin office," Luther said to a guard a little distance from him.

The guard nodded and took his position, temporarily relieving Luther as he led the man dressed in black army fatigue.

"For a school that's been around for over four hundred years, I would think you guys had a phone number that you could be reached at. We shouldn't need to physically contact you, you should be a phone call away," the man said as he walked behind Luther.

"It's less distraction, plus there are other ways of contacting us. Perhaps you can let Father know your thoughts, I am sure he will advise you accordingly."

They turned unto the first floor and down the passage way stopping at the second door on the right.

Knock, Knock

"Enter," Father Venjamin said.

"You can go ahead," Luther said as he opened the door to the man.

"I am Father Venjamin, Father White is not available at this time. Who are you? and how can I help?"

"I am Specialist Strena, from the Gerkandi Special unit. We have a crisis on our hands and was told you had warriors that dealt with those... things." He said looking uncomfortable standing before the priest.

"I am sorry, please have a seat. What things are you referring to?" he asked looking at the man now sitting before him.

"Ehem... your warriors hunt demons, do they not?" he asked.

"We do more than just hunt demons here..." Father Venjamin began.

"I don't mean to interrupt you, but we are in a crisis and need your team of warriors to come with me right away. We need to travel non-stop to reach our destination before two maniac berserker kills all our people. So please gather your best and let us leave now," he explained.

"While I understand your situation, you can't just demand something so sudden. I will need to speak with them first. Give me the exact coordinates and we will be there momentarily." Father replied.

He thump his fist on the desk and said furiously, "Our people need your help now before it's too late!"

Specialist Stren stood up and glared at the priest then sat back in his chair.

"Chris!" The priest shouted.

A tall warrior-looking young man came into view. "Yes sir!" he replied looking towards the priest.

"Gather thirty of your elite warriors including Sharla and her team." Father Venjamin ordered.

"Yes, Sir!" he replied and left them immediately.

"Why only thirty of your warriors? I don't believe you understand what is at stake here," he fumed.

"And I don't believe you understand the talents we have here. We don't need our phones or our cars when we can teleport where we need to go. Now you will have the best and you will win your war with these demons."

Moments later Chris returned with the thirty youngsters who looked like they didn't pass eighteen.

"Is this a joke? You're sending children to war?" Strena asked.

"Don't underestimate them, you will be surprised at what they can accomplish. Like the saying goes we are warriors for Christ. Just stand back and watch what our God will do for you," Father Venjamin said.

"Lead the way, Chris," the priest said. Turning to the man that sat before him, "You can join them if you will be in battle too."

He waited for the warriors to lead the way then followed with the priest behind him.

"You will need to provide them with the exact coordinates," the priest said to the specialist as they made their way to the teleportation room.

Once the young warriors marched to the teleportation room, the general of the group took the exact coordinates of the battle from the specialist. The general turned to address the group.

"Team, we are going in the heat of battle. Quickly access your surroundings and bring glory to the Lord. Strike straight and true, for the Lord God is on your side."

The room then erupted with shouts of praise and blowing of

the trumpet as they made ready their arrival.

"Specialist Strena, are you not coming with us to fight or do you want us to win this war without you?" General Clint asked with a sneer on his face.

"You think you can win this war with this small number?" he asked.

"Join us in battle and see what the Lord will do. We may look like teenagers but we are wise and strong beyond our years. Some of us have rare powers, talents and gifts that we dedicated to God. So don't judge us before you have had time to know us. And what better way to know us, than to fight alongside us? What do you say?" General Clint asked.

"Sir! If I may ask that we move now before we have nothing left to defend." Captain Sharla said as she and her team of five joined."

"We can reach there by the time you blink your eyes. Join us on this platform now," the General said holding his hand towards the Specialist.

"I can't believe I am doing this with a bunch of kids, God help me." He said as he took the general's hand.

The room light then flickered as blue light filled the room. Suddenly the room was empty with no sign of the warriors that were there moments ago.

In the heat of the battle of Gandlanza, the south borders of Gerkandi and Sancia, the group arrived. They quickly observed, divided the battlefield and defended their surroundings. Each group was divided into six groups each with its own Captain.

The battlefield was filled with broken bodies and vehicles. As the elite team moved and strike the demons in their path with ease, they soon wondered why the humans couldn't do it themselves.

Turning to the Specialist the General said, Where are the Berserkers?"

"I don't know..." Suddenly a black claw bore through his chest as blood began to gurgle from his mouth. The demon through the specialist a few meters from where they stood. His body slammed into a tree making a bone-crunching sound.

The warriors backed up as they hadn't seen the beast so close.

"It seems, the gifted warriors have entered. Just when I thought this was going to be a walk in the park. Right brother?" Drako drawled as both of them circled one of the groups with the general.

Dante stood before the general in the blink of an eye. The general watched the red eye demon smile at him. Dante then raised his right hand with its long black claws dripping with blood and swiped at General Clint's face. Dante's face looked quite puzzled as his hands didn't make the regular flesh-and-blood connection, he only felt air.

The general smiled seeing the puzzled expression on the demon's face and winked to the group with him. They made a diamond formation and attacked Dante with their swords and what seemed like holy water.

The team was able to keep up with Dante's fast movements. He bobbed and weaved and swipe and jibe but no one was bleeding. No one from this elite group was dying.

"I guess I have my work cut out for me. Drako! It seems we will be late for dinner after all," he smiled.

He was happy to have a challenge he could really enjoy winning and he was going to ensure the gifted warriors all died tonight. Finally the battle of a lifetime worth fighting for.
