Chapter 18 - DaDrak - Master Destroyer

"I command you to take your flight demon and leave this place and never return," General Clint commanded. Drako sneered at the General before he flashed his claws once more. He was getting tired of this game. He wanted to see blood spewing ... not his own. But as he looked at his body he saw cuts and bruises that healed within a few minutes of them be administered. There was one pesty wound that showed no sign of healing, he was losing blood fast. His side where that general jabbed him with his sword.

He couldn't understand how he was able to stab him, not just once but three times in the same spot. It's like he moved faster than his eyes could process. What was he? Just who is this general? he wondered as he held his bleeding side.

"I told you to take your flight, demon. You have no jurisdiction here. If you want to live to see another day take your fellow demons with you before we annihilate you," General Clint warned.

"Dante, I seem to need your help. I have been stabbed and it won't heal," he, mind linked to his brother.

A Few meters down the battlefield.

"Excuse me while I attend to my brother," Dante said before disappearing before Sharla and her team.

"Where did he go?" Nico asked as he went to stand beside his captain.

"He went to help his brother. I have a bad feeling about this," she said.

"Look up!" Liah shouted as the wind howled suddenly.

They looked to where Liah pointed and saw Dante holding his brother in his arms.

"One of them is wounded," Marlo said.

"This is great, it means their rain of terror has ended," Tico snickered.

"Quickly, let us make our way towards the general. I just feel like the worst is yet to come," Sharla ordered to her team.

"How dare you wound my brother. You think you have won, but you haven't. By the time we are through with you, you wished you were dead!" Dante yelled.

"You don't scare me demon. The same fate your brother just met, is the same for you!" The general spat and jabbed his sword at Dante before he could even move.

His eyes flew wide open at the sudden pain he felt in his belly. No one ever successfully hurt them before, let alone wound them this badly.

Suddenly the entire elite squad rained stabs on them, they tried to move out of the way and found it almost impossible.

"Brother, I can't believe this is the end. Will we die at the hands of our enemies?" Drako asked weakly. He was breathing erratic now.

"No brother we will not die, like the phoenix who died and raised from the ashes, so shall we," Dante coughed and covered his mouth, when he moved his hand he saw blood. "I refuse to die. I refuse to give in to these pompous puritans." He coughed blood again.

The elite squad stopped raining down on the brothers when they saw no movement and their eyes closed. Blood was everywhere. It was not for the faint of hearts to witness.

"Rejoice! The demons are no more!" They shouted.

Both the humans that remained and the soldiers along with the elite team rejoiced. A squad mourned the loss of two members. But soon joined as they knew they died a good death.

"Send word to the humans the demons are no more," General said to his faithful team.

"Was there any casualties on our side," the general asked his captains as they stood with their respective teams.

"Only Sandy and Trint sacrificed their lives to help win this deadly battle, sir" Captain Shanto replied.

"Great. Send the rest of your teams home, I will meet with all captains here before we return and we can meet with Father Leslie."

"Yes, general," Captian Shanto said turning to his fellow teammates, "you heard the general, return home at once and relay our victory to Father White. Advise him that the general and captains will meet with Father Leslie."

"Aye yie, captain," one of his subordinates replied.

The teams quickly opened their own portal and returned home singing happily. They also had the bodies of their fallen friends with them and would perform a special thanksgiving service for them upon their return.

Once all their other teams left, they walked a few feet from the brothers corpses.

"How should we dispose of these bodies? We don't want anyone resurrecting these deadly beings." General Clint asked.

"We could try placing them in hell, maybe over time they may change their ways," Blacks replied.

"That doesn't make sense. They control demons, they would make their way out in no time. Not to mention Lucifer would very much like to have his hands on them. I'm afraid we can't chance sending them to hell to have Lucifer raising them up. We need to hide them so they will not be seen or heard from again," the general concluded.

Larkins residence

The family gathered in the living room to come up with a plan to reduce the demons foothold without drawing attention to them as they tried to follow Drako's warnings.

"We won't sit back and watch the enemy grow just because we fear for our own safety. No, there is work to be done. The oath we took still stands. We cannot put other lives above our own. We will just have to live with the consequences and hope for the best," Erinic said standing before all of them.

"But dad, Drako has a plan. I don't know if what we will do will hinder his plan. Maybe we should wait until he contacts us," Keliana replied.

Suddenly Michelle stared at Erinic and tears started to roll down her cheeks.

"Something is wrong," Michelle said holding her chest.

Erinic went to his wife and knelt before her holding her hand.

"What is it dear?"

She grabbed him and tried to talk but the pain in her heart proved difficult. She just kept crying,

"We have to help him," she wailed.

"Michelle, who must we help?" Erinic pleaded.

Her eyes seem to stare right through him. She stood up and her husband stood with her.

"Mom who must we help?" Keliana asked as she felt pain in her belly bottom.

"Mom what is happening?" Khalisa and twins asked.

Peter then stood before Michelle trying to shake her out of her despair.

"It's too late... it's too late," she sobbed.

"Michelle, you are not making any sense. What is wrong with you?" Eliira asked.

Michelle then dropped to her knees and cried out as she bowed her head to the floor.

"Help him God. Don't take him away from us when we just got him back. It's not fair, give him back life, please."

"Oh no. Something happened to Drako! Keliana cried.

"No... that can't be. He is too powerful for a mere mortal to destroy. This is bigger," Khalisa said.

"We have to find him. Keliana see if you can track him. Wait where is Benara? She should have seen what would happen to him." Erinic said as he looked around him for the shape shifter.

"She was here earlier," Jayden replied as Caden went to search the house for her.

Back on the Battlefield

A dark shadow floated towards the dead bodies. Slowly the hands of the brothers joined as the shadow slithered through them entering their bodies.

While the general and his captains spoke, the eyes of the blood brothers flashed open. They suddenly sat up while on the ground. Dante and Drako then joined hands as the fire blazed blue in their eyes.

A great gust of winds started blowing. The general and his captains turned to the spot the twins laid. They gasp as they witnessed what they feared happening right before them.

Their eyes shone with blue fire as Dante joined hands with Drako. The air around the feral blood brothers became cold as ice, bringing fogs and giant snowflakes, harsh winds and lightning. Thunder roared and an ear-shattering scream rained around the general and his captain.

The elite team gathered their composure as they made themselves ready for what they were about to fight. All eyes fixed on the spot the berserkers were.

The general stared at Dante and Drako as they now stood before them. The general decided to walk closer to the blood brothers. The closer he got to the duo, a heinous guttural roar came from the depths of them.

He staggered back when black and red smoke suddenly enveloped the brothers. Thickness rose to the sky. When the red and black smoke cleared. A giant beast now stood before them. The right hand wielded a deadly black blade with the sign of a dark phoenix etched in its blade. The left hand wielded a white blade with a blue phoenix engraved in it.

The ground shook when they walked towards the group that rejoiced at their sudden demise earlier.

Their joined voice sounded malevolent.

"You thought you destroyed us. Look upon the mighty DaDrak - Master destroyer. Join us or face our wrath." They said as they approached the group that now backed up with each step the twenty-foot giant made. They grew in height and had cheetah legs, muscled giant hands with claws holding their respective swords. They had two heads. The right head was a cross between a black dragon and a phoenix while the left was a cross between a white dragon and a phoenix. Their wings were red and majestic. They were joined from the hip down. Their very aura made it almost impossible to stand before them.

"DaDrak, whether you are in this form or another, we will not bow to you. Only to our God." Captain Shanto shouted looking defiant.

"Does the little captain speak for the general and other captains?" DaDrak bellowed shaking the ground again as they approached the group that had their weapons out and ready for the confrontation of a lifetime.
