The inn was teleported to the north at the hillside of Mt. Brimlet, a few miles away from Zariya. Luckily, this place was remote for the reason that dragon's lurk within this area. Indeed, it is a perfect place for a hideout. A few more moments, Jeruzen and Maku was transported inside the inn. Upon arriving, Jeruzen was seen carrying the unconscious Maku on his back.
"What happened back there?" Chaneri worriedly asked.
"He was caught in Saiph's shadow, luckily I'm smart." He said with sheer arrogance.
"You electrocuted him?" Faye asked.
"It's just a scratch." Jeruzen replied.
"You could have killed him you know." Faye said.
"Well, at least they got back safe." Balthazar said to Faye. "Thank you." He thanked Jeruzen.
In that short time, Mizuki noticed something odd about Faye. A while ago she was so stern yet right now it seems she turned over a new leaf.
"Lets bring him upstairs so he can rest." Isidore suggested.
And so they brought Maku's unconscious body in his bedroom and laid him in his bed.
"It would take some time before he'll wake up due to the shock." Jeruzen said.
A few more minute of silence and Mizuki insisted to help.
"Let me help." He stepped forward.
He took the violin and placed it gently on his shoulder.
"Flower of Life."
He starts playing his violin and the earth rumbles. A huge flower emerged from the ground outside the inn. Its pistil fits perfectly as it enters the open window of the bedroom. A little drop of nectar from the flower's stigma drops into Maku's body.
'Flower of Life' is an ancient spell whom Mizuki learned from the dryads who live at the Forest of White Secrets. It allows him to heal himself or allies by summoning a huge flower called Althaea and extracting a droplet of its nectar due to its many curative powers and its multiplicity of uses.
"He should wake up any time now." He said.
Afterwards, the flower retract under the ground.
"Wait, is that the same healing you used on me the other day?" Balthazar asked.
Mizuki just nodded yes.
"Is it really necessary you should play a tune?" Faye asked meanly.
"Faye!" Jeruzen cut her in.
"Of course that's what he do, he's a Lunarian after all." Isidore said.
Faye just rolled her eyes in agitation.
"Thank you!" Balthazar thanked Mizuki. "I owe you twice."
"It's nothing. I'm glad I can help." He smiled.
"Ahhhhhh!" Everyone was disturbed by the shout. It was Maku who just got conscious.
"He's still in shock I guess." Jeruzen said jokingly.
"You could have killed me back there!" Maku said angrily.
"Well, at least you're safe now." Jeruzen replied.
"Hey! Hey! Calm down." Isidore calmed the two.
Maku just sighed.
"You owe me back there." Jeruzen rolled his arms together.
"As if." Maku said stubbornly.
While everyone was inside the inn, a loud roar from outside rumble all over the place. Everyone run towards the door to check what was happening.
When they arrive, they saw Dave taunting one of the dragons nearby.
"Seriously, of all places you teleported us here?" He said to Isidore.
"Well, why not. The inn is safe around this area. The Orions will be having a hard time looking for us." he stated.
"Safe? Is this what you call safe?" Dave said pointing to the dragon in front of him.
"Oh please, he won't bite." He chuckled. "If he's not threatened." he added.
"Threatened?" Dave asked. "He's the threat, not us!"
"Who dares to intrude in my land?" The dragon spoke.
"It seems like forever, Valor. Did you forget me already?" Isidore said.
"I don't recall meeting you ever in my existence." The dragon said.
"Eh!? But you said dragons don't forget things that easily."
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" The dragon laughed. "Of course I remember, I'm just teasing you."
He picked up Isidore from the ground with the grip of his tail.
"You've grown up already. You're not like that weak kid that I've met years ago."
"Well..." He said embarrassingly as he scratch the back of his head. "How about you? You haven't changed a bit."
"Dragons live longer than humans, a decade of a human's life is equivalent to a year of a dragon's life."
"It's been 20 years since I last visited here, so it looks like I've been away for 2 years in your life span."
"Excuse me?" Faye interrupted their conversation. "Isidore, we need an explanation."
"I'm sorry." He apologized. "This is Valor, a friend from my childhood."
"A dragon? Your childhood friend? Now that's lit!" Dave said.
The dragon put Isidore back on the ground.
"Who are these people?" He asked.
"These are my comrades, The Midnight Justice. We were chased by one of the kingdom's elite troops so we have to fallback."
"Why are you being chased?" Valor asked.
"You see, the land was not what it was used to be. A new king has sit upon the throne of Nethilor and with his power, chaos have thrive through out the land. The alliance of the kingdoms had fallen and everyone was against each other."
The dragon breathed out heavily that smokes starts to come out of his nose. "I've seen this coming. All the years I've spent in this world I've witnessed and experienced every single tragedy of history. It looks like everything what the history has foretold is repeating itself."
"That's why our group is formed to restore peace. We have allies out there who also oppose the wrong government of the kingdom."
"No matter what you do. Peace cannot be restored. Even the gods themselves failed to do so. Peace only put chaos in its slumber and through time, it will once be awaken by the tainted and selfish hearts of humans." Valor recited.
"You're right, but no matter what, we've made a vow to bring back peace even if takes to shed our bloods."
"Do as you please. Still, I have no intention on joining the feud between humans and the other races. We, the dragons have been in silence for centuries after the fall of the deities. After that, we've isolated ourselves and ignored every occurrence beyond Mt. Brimlet " Valor said.
"I have one request."
"Name it."
"Let us sojourn here in your territory for the meantime." Isidore requested.
"Alright, you and your comrades are free to roam around Mt. Brimlet."
Afterwards, Valor roared very loudly that disturbed the other dragons. He is calling them for a short meeting.
"Dragons, I hereby declare that these individuals are free to roam within are territory. With my authority, I can assure that they will do no harm upon you and so should you. May everyone adhere to peace and unity."
Altogether, the other dragons released a loud roar, a sign that they agree to what Valor stated.
"Thank you for your hospitality." Isidore thanked everyone.
He then returned to where the others are standing.
"Alright, a place to stay is settled." he said.
Jeruzen clapped his hands and applaud Isidore. "Wow, just wow. Now, we have ourselves a dragon geek." He joked. "Can we ride them?"
"I want to ride them too." Chaneri and Maku said in unison.
"Not gonna happen, we've asked for a place to stay and that's too much to asked." He disagreed.
"I've heard their meat taste great." Dave said.
"Dave, will you please stop!" Isidore scolded him.
"Exactly how did you meet that creature?" Faye asked curiously. "You're not under any witchcraft are you?"
"Pfft, of course not. He's a friend I accidentally met when I was a kid."
"Accidentally?" Faye asked with a frown on her face.
"It's a long story. It's not important to tell anyway though."
In the middle of their conversation, Mizuki's stomach rumbled that disturbed their chat.
"Can we eat now? I'm already hungry." He pleaded as his stomach rumbles once again.
The sun was already at its peak that they did not notice with all the commotion and interference. The group returns inside the cabin to have a lunch.
"There you go." Maku handed Mizuki a bowl of ice cream sundae after he had finished eaten the main course.
"Thank you!" He smiled and Maku smiled at him back.
"You sure do love it, don't you?" Maku asked while his hands clasp on his cheeks.
"Well yeah, it's delicious and sweet after all." Mizuki replied.
"Silly me to ask such a weird question, of course it is." He laughed awkwardly and focused his attention on the food on his plate.
"Hey, big bro! Did you steal my food again?" Chaneri asked Jeruzen from the other side of the table.
"I did not." Jeruzen answered who's just sitting next to her.
"I'm pretty sure you took it." She insisted.
"I really didn't do it." He denied.
"It's here awhile ago, I just fetch water from the fridge, and now it's missing."
"Here, take my share instead and stop yammering in front of the food." He handed the chicken drums left on his plate to Chaneri's.
