Isidore and the others had just arrive on time. It was one of Sophia's spell that falls from above trapping the enemy on the ground. The astral like cage constantly shrinks pinning the enemy to the ground. It tried to gnarl its way out, however the hallowed energy from the cage restricted it to do so.
The others jumps down the hole and joins Mizuki inside the room. Altogether, they watched the pitiful beast in front of them like a savage kid without a mother. Sofia puts down Marjorie and marched towards the cage with pity on her eyes.
"You will soon be free from this false veil that had shrouded your sanity and tainted your soul." She uttered with a sad voice.
As the cage become smaller and smaller, the creature inside became dizzy and lethargic. The true purpose of 'Good Judgement' is to imprison the enemy and at the same time is to drain its energy resulting it to fall into slumber.
"You have done good, Sofia." Isidore uttered as he watched her fade into thin air and vanishes from their sight. She must have returned to the other dimension already. The cage wither away with her presence.
At this time, it was peacefully quiet. The beast had been long gone to its sleep. Still, their task is not finished yet. Isidore needs to get rid of the spell that had torment the creature, they don't know how long it had under it.
He took out his spellbook and tries to look for any possible spell to free the creature from the curse binding him. He tried multiple spell to undo the curse but it was not working, it's something beyond his league, something that he had yet to encounter.
"What's wrong?" Mizuki approached Isidore when he noticed him becoming impatient.
"I can't determine what spell was used unto him. All my reverse spells and spell to undo another spell doesn't work. This must be a work of a high rank mage." Isidore said with frustration.
"Isn't there any way to do so." Mizuki said.
"I hope there is." Isidore replied as he walks pass through him.
After a few moment of walking back and forth with deep thoughts, an idea struck his mind in an instant. With no other option left to do, he turns to the next few pages revealing another set of complicated words and symbols written on it. Holding the book on his left hand, he began casting using his other hand and runes slowly starts to limn on the floor until it was complete.
"Thou who purifies and vanquishes the evil; Finding balance and ease on troubled waters; I call upon, Guide of Purity, Cisne!"
A majestic swan emerged at the center of the runes. It resembles the beauty of a goddess in the appearance of an avian. It looks so serene and placid with its luminous rare white feathers. A diamond is drawn noticeably on its forehead that signifies the symbol of purity.
"It's good to see you again, my lord." She greeted Isidore and performs a curtsy to show respect to her possessor. "How can I serve you this time?" She asked him.
"It's about Krios." He pointed to the beast sleeping behind Cisne. "He's under a strong spell that makes him savage and uncontrollable. His sanity is nowhere to be reach." He explained.
"Perhaps, I can help." She replied.
Cisne approached Krios who is in a deep slumber, and look at him closely with pity. "I shall purify your tainted soul." She whispered.
"Purification of the Soul!" She spread her wings wide open and cast the spell. Specks of light emits out of her body and occasionally, it went towards Krios. It means to purify and cleanse the heart of vices and immoral traits while lending beauty to it with good deeds.
Out of nowhere, an extreme glow circles around Krios that lift him high in the air. It made changes throughout his appearance. His ginormous, long and lanky body shrinks into an average size of a cheetah. His frizzy and displeasing fur becomes smooth and silky. Not just his appearance but also his mentality and spirit has been purified. At last, he had gotten back to his former presentable self.
"W-what happened?" Krios said as his body slowly returns to the ground with no idea what was going on. His vision were foggy and were yet to recognize the figure in front of him.
"We're glad you're back?" A lady's voice spoke to him.
"Cisne?" He uttered upon seeing the appearance of the swan.
"How did you end up here?" Isidore asked him.
"I don't really have any idea. The last thing I remember is that I was taking a nap when the savannah was set into fire. The animals panic and fled. Some where caught dead on the fire. I was about to save some members of my coalition trapped at the middle of the bushfire when something had pierce my body that made me dizzy and fall into sleep." He told them. "I don't know what happen next."
"They have put you under a strong spell that destroyed your sanity turning you into a savage beast." Isidore said. "Gladly, Cisne was here to help." He clutched his arms together
"It seems my job here is done. I shall now return to the spirit world now, my lord." Cisne bent her head forward. Afterwards, her essence disintegrates into thin air.
Krios saw the wounded Chaneri and Marjorie on the background. He approached them with bowed head and regret on his face.
"Am I the one who did this?" He asked in a low voice. "I sincerely apologize." He bent down in front of them.
"It's not your fault, Mr. Krios. You are simply just a victim like the rest of us. You don't have to apologize." Chaneri caress him.
Meanwhile, Mizuki approached Marjorie who' been sitting helplessly in a corner. "You must be Marjorie, right?" He asked.
"I am." She instantly replied. "And you are?"
"I am Mizuki, the newest member of Midnight Justice, I am glad to meet you." He slightly bent his head forward with his right hand placed on his chest. "May I have a look at your wounds." He asked.
The lady just nod her head and did not make any fuss. Mizuki examined her injuries, it was bad. He then prepared his violin to fiddle another tune.
"Don't worry, we'll get that fix in no time." As soon as he started fiddling the violin, the earth below rumbles.
"Flower of Life." A huge flower emerge from the ground, extending its stem high up in the air that almost reached the ceiling the room. It was the same spell he use to cure Maku and Balthazar. A drop of its nectar drops from the pistil unto Marjorie's body. Her wounds closed, her injuries healed and even her broken leg returns to normal. In no time, she was completely healed and lively.
"Thank you!" She said in awe. Mizuki just smiled at her tenderly.
"Chaneri, your turn." He called her.
While Mizuki was busy healing the girls, Isidore and Krios had some serious conversation.
"Look at all this dead remains." Krios roamed his eyes around the room were scattered bones of humans can be seen. "I cannot bare to watch. How could I do all of this?" He resented himself.
"It is your nature to kill for survival, however the people who captured you abused it and turn you into a weapon. You should not feel any grudge upon yourself." Isidore said. "Rather, look forward for a better change towards the future."
"I have lived long enough above this world. Centuries had passed since the gods cut their ties with the mortals. I am already a century old feline, I guess it is time to depart to the spirit realm." He walks and turns toward Isidore. "Will you accept me as one of your guide?" He bent his head forward.
"If that would give you assurance and peace of mind then I gladly accept." Isidore's bent forward toward him as well. "Just say when you are ready."
"I am now ready."
Isidore opens up his book and turns it to an empty page. There is no single word or complicated rune written on the blank page.
"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul. I shall now accept my purpose the gods had bestowed." After saying those words, his physical body perish into thin air and turns into essence which eventually found its way towards Isidore's book. A new seal was limn on the blank page of the book.
"You did the right thing, Krios." He whispered with a smile drawn on his face and then closed the book.
