faes saw the figure coming towards them in a hurry and relaxed after identifying him. faes flicked the sword cleaning it before putting it in its sheath on her back. sky was still in her other arm watching her with worry, probably sensing her pain through their bond. faes just gave her a small smile and pat in return as she cant exactly hide her emotions from this sister of hers.
faes turned to the figure that was now just a few meters away and smiled while sky also turned to the new person that appeared looking at him curiously. the familiar golden hair and blue eyed person was now standing in front of them looking worried and slightly out of breath.
"greetings your highness prince blake hope you got here without encountering any danger" faes greeted blake while sky also nodded her greeting mumbling something in her tiny broken dragon language which almost made faes giggle after hearing it.
"are you alright? uncle aiden contacted me and told me to come to a location as fast as i can, worried i left the capital at once but then on they way i sensed a dangerous aura and came here. i didn't thought i would find you here in this state! what happened? where is that beast that i sensed?" blake asked questions non stop making faes smile at him.
though she didn't had any serious injuries but some minor bruises and cuts were present along with dirt and twigs that she picked up after being thrown around a few times. her hair was also a mess! but watching blake care for her made her feel secure somehow. faes felt that as long as blake was there she didn't had to worry much.
"brother blake calm down first!" faes called finally stopping blake's questions as he watched her patiently waiting for her answer which she replied with a smile
"i am fine big brother blake and our little sister sky is fine too, the aura you sensed must be of the wild bear we just killed and stored" faes told him.
blake relaxed as faes assured him that they were fine but then again the aura he sensed was strong enough to give him a good fight and did his little sister just told him they killed a wild bear? blake found something missing in the description but he let go as the aura had vanished now. 'probably it was really that wild bear?'
blake smiled as he watched the tiny white and purple dragon in faes arms watching him with curiosity and happiness. he patted her head as he greeted his other little sister who he was yet to meet
"hello there little one i am your big brother blake" blake said to which sky giggled closing her eyes as he continued his patting.
"oh my aren't you cute?" blake also laughed watching his sister.
"why don't you both get to know each other better while i get myself clean a little?" faes handed sky to blake who gladly and carefully took her and began playing with sky nodding at faes to tell her that he will look after sky until she cleans herself.
faes went behind a tree and dusted her clothes and pulled the leaves and twigs out of her hair. then faes used qi to heal her shoulder which was still paining a little. after a light healing spell her shoulder was just sore but that would do. running her fingers through her long black hair she was presentable now not much covered in dirt.
when faes came out sky was still playing with blake who was smiling and talking to her and this scene made faes smile though she felt sad too.
'if only blake was her real brother and sky her real sister'
faes knew that they were now her brother and sister but the feeling of real and adoptive family that too in a world you barely lived in was not something faes can accept just yet. it was a nagging feeling in her heart that didn't left her no matter what she did, even with aiden this feeling only decreased until it was barely present but it was still there.
"you are back great! now lets camp here as there arent much monsters around due to that wild bear tomorrow we will leave for the capital again" blake said to faes who nodded but then frowned, they actually do not have anything to camp as they simply entered mystic fog castle to spend the night.
"you collect the firewood while i set up tents for us don't worry" blake told faes who was frowning. he was not sure how they have spent the night before in the forest but it clearly wasn't pleasant experience without proper camp. he was also confused as to why his uncle would just sent them both alone in the forest without coming with them. he might ask about this to his sisters. blake was angry at aiden to let faes and sky enter the forest to come to the capital city on their own as blake was not aware that aiden was no longer in the world.
both blake and faes went to do their task while sky was with blake sitting over his shoulder watching him set up two tents around the trees and set a tree log in front of the tents.
meanwhile faes collected firewood and made a campfire which wasn't difficult if you are able to use magic.
when they were all set blake took out some snacks and precooked meals from his spacial ring and gave them to faes.
"here i didn't knew i would meet you this soon so i prepared meals for about a week you can eat them for dinner" blake said
"thank you brother blake don't worry i have sky's milk with me that i had prepared" faes took out the milk for sky that she had prepared in advance when she was collecting the firewood entering her space for sometime 'but i didn't met with kailial, it wasn't like i care to tell him we will be spending our time outside today'
faes was not upset about that at all! nope! faes gave the milk to sky then ignoring kailial she turned to the snacks blake gave her. there were bacons, eggs, rice and some other simple things. faes eyes twinkled when she saw the snacks
'chips, lollipops, and candies and noodles are also present in this world?' faes was now sure that this world was better than earth, it was a highly advanced technology planet which had lots of nature and magic around, and it also had most of the things earth had!
faes was thinking what to eat when blake's voice came to her
"sister faes i was wondering why are you both out in the forest alone? why did uncle aiden let you come to here the wild bear's land and where is he?" blake was serious while he asked that carefully.
he watched as faes eyes turned sad and moist before she turned to look at the campfire blinking to stop the tears from falling. even sky looked at faes with sad yet concerned eyes confusing him but faes next words knocked air out of his lungs.
"papa isn't in this world with us anymore" faes said wiping the single tear that escaped her eyes. she was still missing aiden and his presence around her and when blake asked it made her tear up.
blake looked at faes then at sky before he too turned towards the fire bitting his check to see it it was real. when he tasted blood he knew that what he was hearing was real but how did his uncle who was strongest die just like that?
"if you don't mind telling, how did he-?" blake didn't finished his sentence. it wasn't like he didn't wanted to but he cant because of the lump he felt in his throat.
"he was poisoned or cursed i should say. it was before i met him and in the fight with the cult. sky's other two sibling eggs were also killed in that attack. i saved sky in that attack and helped papa with the cleaning up, after that he adopted me and made me his diciple. i always asked him to come back and find someone who can refine the medicine to save him but he said he didn't wanted to. he wanted to meet his love and was happy when he took his last breath"
faes told blake taking a deep breath controlling her emotions and wiping the tears that fell down. faes then smiled at sky patting her head and telling her to finish her milk. sky did as faes told while faes watched her.
faes turned towards blake not hearing any response, blake had his eyes closed and his head hanged low. she knew he was feeling sad but she also didn't know what to do. sky was still over a month old and didn't understand the meaning of death so it was easier for her to take care of sky and not let her miss aiden much but blake was a grown up and knew what had happened.
not sure what to do faes turned to the food again which didn't seem much entertaining now. she still took some and began eating until she felt full. faes also asked blake to eat a little but he still didn't ate much, barely enough for her satisfaction.
