faes was now irritated as she heard aiden laugh. he was back to make fun of her but she cant even shout at him as she knew that it must have been funny seeing her fall head first to the ground. its good that she used qi so she wasnt hurt otherwise her face and hands would have been damaged badly.
faes got up huffing and dusting herself as she sensed that the rabbits were now in their home hiding in those stupid holes.
"you need to do everything with strategy and practice try again" aiden spoke clearly amused watching her. faes glared at him then turned to the holes in which the rabbits were hiding. she sighed and then thought about how to catch the rabbits. if she was correct then the holes rabbit lived in had several openings if she can find them all and block them leaving one she can hunt the rabbits easily. deciding on a plan she made a trap on the opening near her then went on to find other openings. there were total three of them and after blocking one faes created fire on the last one to lure the rabbits out.
just as she thought the rabbits came out only to run into the trap but that only was able to catch one rabbit other were able to run away avoiding the trap. faes now angry with the gale rabbits and their fast usage of wind decided to catch them with her previous strategy.
getting her sword ready she used wind magic to increase her speed again but this time she also used wind to keep her body upright and also tried to keep balance. after falling a few more times faes finally got the technique and was able to chase after the rabbits.
aiden who was watching her was smiling wryly as he should have expected the result. he sighed as he watched faes chase after the rabbits with a smile like she was having fun and playing. he knew that the rabbits had no chance that she have gotten the technique to increase her speed just like them but this wasnt enough. he decided that he would give her few movement techniques once they go back.
faes who was having fun chasing the rabbits now got tired and decided that it was time to end it. she was still carrying her sword which she fused with wind blades and then shot towards the rabbits. the poor rabbits were noting without the speed advantage and got hunted down by the wind blades.
just like aiden thought faes hunted few rabbits and then stored them before coming back to where aiden was waiting for her.
"you did good but just using wind to increase your speed isnt a proper way you need techniques lets go back and freshen up then i will give you few techniques you can choose from" aiden told faes as they began to go back towards the cave.
now that faes was tired and not going to hunt she began to notice that aiden wasnt paying attention to his surroundings just moving like he was strolling in a garden which amused her. unable to contain her curiocity she asked him
"watching you why does it feel like you are walking in a garden rather than forest? are you not afraid of a powerful being jump out of nowhere and attack us?" she asked well knowing that aiden was already powerful but that does not mean that he was the most powerful being in this world there had to be more strong organisms out there.
"it is because this is my garden and my territory remember i was once the dragon king and we are still in dragon kingdom reptiliance if someone attack me right now they will have to be ready to die even if they managed to kill me my family will track them and kill them as you know i am poisoned and my health is depleting each passing day. i just want to watch my child get born and then leave it in your care." aiden told faes with a sad smile. he knew that they were going to get attacked but he was ready and just wanted faes and his child to stay alive and safe. if they were attacked he was not going to hesitate and let the children run away while he protected them.
faes whas touched that aiden thought of her as his child and cared this much about her. she also became sad because she knows that aiden was indeed getting weaker day by day. faes wanted to help him heal but she didnt know anything about making potions or pills or medicines. sure she had learnt enough to treat a person giving them basic first aid but in aiden case she was still helpless.
'system do you sell antidotes or medicines?' faes asked
[yes host but they wont help aiden as he was poisoned a long time ago and the poison he was affected by does not have an anti venom yet] the system replied sadly it too liked aiden.
hearing the system faes became sadder but she knew that she cant do anything in this case and only make him happy till he dies. faes swore in her mind that she would take care of his child as if it was her own.
'' dont worry its not gonna happen anytime soon, just relax and learn anything you can''
aiden had sensed her mood and cheered her up.
"dont worry i will get strong fast and protect your child with my life" faes vowed making aiden smile. he was also glad that faes was a good child if only she were his own. he suddenly stopped turning to faes he sat down to come to her level and took her shoulders.
"i want you to call me father or dad as you saved my child and we care about each other why dont i adopt you as my child? i know you have a family in altai but i want you to be my child so that i can die in peace can you be my daughter?" aiden asked all serious but his words were stuct in faes mind. 'call me father' 'i want you to be my child' she didnt know what to do as she glanced in his eyes. she had wanted to say that and now aiden asked it himself. this was the first time she was feeling like this in both her lives.
unknowingly her eyes got wet and tears began to fall.
"why are you crying, you dont have to call me that it was just my wish just ignore it you dont have to fulfill it" aiden was not sure why faes was crying he thought it was due to his wish but faes surprised him by suddenly hugging him tightly
"daddy no you are my daddy even if you dont want" this made aiden's eyes to become wet too. he was happy and so was faes
"shh! dont cry" he soothed and picked her up carrying her back to the cave while rubbing her back. he felt warm in his heart because he found someone who love him after his wife who will be his family.
when they got back to the cave faes had fallen asleep in his arms and this discovery made aiden smile. she felt so tiny in his arms and so soft that he was afraid that she will break if he put a little more pressure.
he took her to her room and tucked her in before kissing her head. 'she looks cute while sleeping' he chuckled and left to his room going to the last egg he placed his hand on it.
"you have a sister now who will take care of you and its yoir duty to take care of her" he sensed something move inside the egg as if agreeing with him and it made him smile.
