Dale placed his hand on the radio straped to his wrist. Nearly wanting to turn it off, due to the sound military chatter.
"This is Tallon, I got a visual on the target, over."
"You're authorized for danger close. Watch out of property and ground troops."
Dale saw the screen before him. He had to be careful when he swiped the screen, because Zilla's steps shook him at each step. In a strange way, he felt like he was inside a cacoon. Safe from harm. In reality, he'd be right in the middle of it all. Death could be right around the corner. Then a voice he knew spoke up on the radio.
"This is Stella, we're in position."
Dale raised his wrist and pressed the button on the side.
"Good, are you ready Senko?" Dale asked.
"Of course! I'm always ready to kick butt!" She replied cheerfully.
Dale took a deep breath, wishing he had her confidence. One of the machines was visable behined the docks. Its black armor was round and shiny. They hadn't moved ever since they abducted Dale. Another eerie thing was that the city was abondoned. Some old cars, bikes, left on the road to be destroyed. Not a soul to be seen in a city with the population of seven million.
"This is command, Five minutes remain. Be alert, Talon."
"Copy that, this is our final turn, over."
"You ready Zilla?" Dale questioned.
"Yeah. Are you?"
"I'm ready." Dale replied.
The jets passed and multiple pops began to echo. The tanks, jets, had already begun to fire at one of the alien machines. He could see water jump in the distance. Some of the rounds were bouncing off into the ocean.
"Kneel down and let Stella do her thing." Dale ordered.
"Right!" Zilla kneeled and Dale saw the streets closer on his screen. He could see a dog looking for food by a turned over dumpster.
"I'm going to fire, Dale." Stella said.
"Good, you're good to shoot." Dale ordered.
Dale swiped the screen and noticed multiple icons. They must represent weapons. One was the chain saw Zilla used before.
The screen flashed with a pink light and the video feed focused. A massive beam had passed overhead and hit the alien's machine. The beam seemed to splash like water around it. Threads of the beam energy floated around until they vanished. There was something about the nature of their magic that Dale didn't understand. Was it even science based at all?
"Next shot!" Dale shouted.
"Alright."
A few minutes later another beam passed overhead. This time it was a greenish blue light.
"Alright Zilla. Go stab the heated armor." Dale said.
Zilla stood up and began to sprint towards the alien. Dale pushed the sword icon and a beam of light flashed in Zilla's hand. Like some sort of sword.
Just as she emerged from the comfort of surrounding buildings. Dale noticed the second machine on their left. He knew it was there, but it had moved, unlike the first one.
Zilla stabbed the machine and the blade seemed to go crunch through. It worked!
Dale couldn't take his eyes off the giant square face looking at them from their left. The area below its head seemed to open like a mouth. Its teeth were squared and it reminded him of a nutcracker doll.
"Watch out to the left!" Dale yelled.
"I'm busy killing this!" Zilla yelled back.
Scarlet's head popped in through the wall.
"Kill confirmed..the alien's head was crushed by some metal pipe.." She said.
"I don't need the details, just tell me if they die. Go to that one next." Dale pointed to the square faced one. It lunged at Zilla's side. The water rising up from the sheer force of its movment.
Dale picked the cannon icon and the cannon seemingly built itself before his screen. Black armor and a green glowing inner section. Just like Zilla's armor.
Dale fired one shot and he projectile shattered at impact with its eye. He could still see dots of glowing metal that was once the projectile. It jaws opened wide and bit the tip of the cannon. Its teeth slowly began to close and the cannon began to give in. The barrel began to callapse like an empty soda can.
"Shit!" Dale shouted. If only he'd fired at that point blank range right into its mouth. That would've been the best shot he could do. It was too late now.
"Cannon offline." The compter screen said.
Zilla turned her body for a swing of her tail. A loud thud echoed sharply and Dale's ears began to ring. His body flew and hit the corner of the pod. He was in a compartment on her back, he hadn't forgotten that, but he still felt his life flash before his eyes. Senko's smile, Stella's wise demeanor, Jill's politeness, and his parents. He became aware of everyone he cared about.
Dale opened his eyes and found he was ok. The new armor was a game changer and he couldn't let this chance slip. He reached for the computer console and used it to stand. On the screen, he had a side view. Clearly showing Zilla and the robot fighting for domanance in a test of strength. The alien robot was thicker and larger in proportion to Zilla. Yet she managed to hold her spot.
"Iron knuckles comin up!" Dale shouted.
"Understood!" Zilla said.
She pushed the robot away. Pieces of metal detached from her armor and became metal around her fists. Almost like giant punching gloves with blades at the end.
"I'd attack the joints, avoid its armor. But do what you feel is right." Dale said.
"Understood!" Zilla said.
She swung at the robot's elbow, but it raised its wrist up and her knuckles clashed. The sound of scraping metal filled the city.
"Shit, that was loud!" Dale said.
Zilla took another swing, but the robot raised its leg. Dale felt his body slam into the wall again. Something went wrong and he wasn't sure what it was. Just that it hurt.
"Are you alright, Zilla!"
"Yeah…it knows how to fight a bit..its still less mobile than me.." Zilla said.
The enemy threw a punch, but its fist seemingly hit a wall of energy. It's fingers collapsed, breaking each one. Then tiny flashes began to spark on the robots glass eyes.
"Don't forget about me! I thought you said I could fight." Senko said.
Dale's jaw dropped at that. He knew Senko had a barrier skill that blocked one shot, but he didn't expect it to be this broken.
"Alright Zilla, full armor mode!" Dale punched the dragon icon.
In that instant, he felt the compartment begin to vibrate.
"Whats happening..my whole body is being covered in armor..I won't be able to breathe!" Zilla cried.
"It'll be alright…Kilo wore armor. Now you will too. Although it'll only last five minutes." Dale said.
Zilla saw the two finale peices of armor by her head. Then they closed together. Everything was dark for a few seconds. Then the screen turned on. Zilla could see the buildings again and the enemy robot. From outside, she looked like a fully armored dragon mech.
"I can breathe…you're right Dale." Zilla studied her mechanicle claw hands.
She now looked like a dragon, a robot one at least.
"Remember. Attack the joints, neck especially." Dale said.
"Right!" Zilla threw a punch and she was amazed to see her claws cut through its wrist armor. The alien robot raised its wrist for a full block. The alien's designed the wrists with thick armor instead of adding sheilds.
Zilla threw punch after punch, eating away the thick layers of armor.
"We got this Zilla. Two more minutes remain. So I'll activate hyper shot." Dale said.
"Alright." Zilla said.
Zilla lunged forward and bit at the robots right arm. Tearing what was left of it off, but the robot punched with its free hand. Hitting Zilla right in the head. Dale felt himself fly, hitting the wall again, but this time it didn't hurt. Unlike his old armor.
"This is command to Dale team. Do not kill the alien if possible. If you do, you will become a public enemy." The radio crackled.
Dale slammed his wrist into the wall. The radio shattered at impact.
"What do I do? You heard them, right? They said not too kill them." Zilla said.
"I didn't hear shit…these two bastards had the audacity to attack my city. They will pay for it..it's our God given right to." Dale felt a crooked smile on his face. He felt anger and agitation burn in his chest. He wanted reveange and he was going to get it.
Dale punched the hyper shot icon. Zilla's helmet armor droped its jaw and energy began to radiate.
"Aim for its chest..don't let it move." Dale said.
Zilla grabbed the robots shoulders. It tried to resist, but all it could do was crunch the road with its feel. The beam fired in a red glow and it cut through the armor like butter. The rest of the shot went towards the ocean. Both Zilla and Dale were amazed at the overkill. Zilla's armor released steam from certain areas around her body. Then the sound of shiftinh metal crackled.
"Low emergy. Full armor mode disengaged." The computer said.
"we did it…we so did it!" Zilla said.
Both aliens were killed and nothing vital but shells remained. A few hours later ships came, and picked up the two robot's remains. That battle lasted a three hours more and proved their military might was slightly better than ours. As they proved victorious in a military battle for the two mech remains.
Although they threatned Dale. In the end they didn't actually do anything. It was never mentioned again.
Seven days later-
"My shots are the best! Watch me flip this pancake!" Senko made a smug face as the pan sizzled.
"My bet is that it'll fall on tha floor..right, Dale?" Stella said.
Dale rubbed his chin as he watched the pancake in Senko's pan. Her tail wagged left, right, then she did it. She flipped her pan, but it snapped.
"Oh, no!"
The pan broke and it fell on the stove. The pancake plopped on the floor.
Stella burst into laughter as Senko stood there holding nothing but a black handle. Her mouth dropped wide and Dale was just as shocked.
"Bahaha!" Stella was in tears as she held her stomach.
Senko's ears drooped and her tail froze. Dale tried to hold back his laughter, especially after her big talk about how she would flip it perfectly. She was a bit prideful, but she didn't deserve to be put down. At least, Dale admired her confidence.
"It'll be alright..we can use another one." Dale smiled. He got another pan, it was smaller but it was good enough. Most of his pans were donated from his parents. Thats why they were used up.
"That was supposed to be perfect..I never miss a shot, its my skill set." Senko said.
"We'll I guess your target was the floor then."
"Thats enough ,Stella." Dale said.
"Right, baby the fox girl why don't you." Stella said as she watched Dale clean up the pancake. He had to scub part of it off, as it had only been halfway cooked.
"My shots are perfect…I'll get right the next time. You'll see." Senko poured more mix into the pan when the doorbell rang.
Bobo walked into the kitchen with her blank expression.
"It's Scott…." Bobo said as she flipped her hair.
"Thats not good." Dale said.
Scott emerged from Bobo's side. His dark sunglasses and black suit gave him away.
"You're damn right its not good.." Scott said.
"What do you want.." Dale felt his gut churning again. Part of him knew what was going to come out of his mouth.
"You enjoying you're little harem?..is that what this is?" Scott said.
Dale scowled at that. He felt his eye twitching and just as he opened his mouth, someone spoke.
"Stop you're bullshiting..if you're trying to make enemies out of us, you're doing a Hell of a job..I'm not from this Earth, I don't submit to you." Stella said.
"Now, now, no need to start a fight.." Dale said.
"Hey, look. It was a joke…alright, I'll get to the point. The megaship started charging up some kind of cannon. It showed up thirty minites ago as a swirling ball of energy." He said.
"Wait, you're talking like…star wars death star kinda shit?" Dale asked.
"Ah…In dumb talk, yes. We believe that's more or less what it is." Scott said.
Dale was speechless. He looked at Stella, who was rubbing her chin in thought. Then he looked at Senko, who listened as she held her pan of uncooked pancake.
"We got this Dale!" Senko smiled.
I think we might be screwed, Dale thought.
