Giving up was easy. The physical backlash hurt, but emotionally. Giving up was incredibly easy to do. Dale didn't know why he did what he did. Why fight the alien threat in the sky? Was it just human nature to fight? Was justic the reason why? Dale had grown up utterly alone. His parents always working and never home. It didn't help that they didn't make much money either. This was his resolve. Utterly broken and selfish.
But then he knew he loved his parents. Despite the fact he wasn't in great terms with his dad.
Dale's body was held down by a matalic film. Almost like a an air tight plastic, but it was metal. Perhapes technology the aliens invented. Dale wondered why he was suffering, as they inserted a metal rod into his right nostril. Why did he get captured?
Where are you God? He said, but only mumbling came out of his lips. Three alien creatures stood around him as he lay on the table. They looked like bugs, but with pink skin. Almost like naked mole rats and a mantis combined. Not one of them spoke his language, so he gave up listening to their cold voices.
Dale felt a sharp cold pain on his arm. He managed to glance down and saw them slicing his forearm skin. They were going after his inner tattoo. Dale tried to his armor. Part of it materialized, but then they simply hit it with a silver rod and it vanished. Kaiju's attacking the city was one Hell, this was another. Being experamented like an animal. Was this how crabs felt, being dissected alive? Dale did always pity animals that suffered, so he didn't make himself feel guilty for that.
He watched as they hung a think layer of flesh on a wire. Then they sprayed a transparent liquid on his exposed muscle. The bleeding instantly stopped. It wasn't a gesture of kindness. Dale assumed they didn't want to make a mess. If they truly had any kind of compassion. They'd give him pain suppressants for what they did to him.
Dale tried to scream again, but only weak moan came out again. He was too tired to even sit up. All he could do was suffer.
How did it come to this?
Five hours ealier-
The two giant robots stepped on the harbor. Five tanks fired from their hiding places. The shots seemingly bounced off with a buzz, that hurt Dale's ears.
Dale and his team stood by a warehouse.
"Hmph! I have even better marksman skills than those metal turtles!" Senko said as she jumped on a large crane.
"Armor peircing rounds!" Senko's sling began to glow. Then mutliple fire rounds fired from it. How the fire didn't melt the sling's band? Dale could comprehend it. They hit with loud pops, leaving molten areas on the machines armor. They were too small though and would cool down quickly.
Zilla threw a punch at the squared faced machine and the bang vibrated the area. The robot was about to tip over, but it managed to regain its balance. Its vertacle vizor lit up and a white beam shot out at Zilla. Dale heard her cry of pain.
"I can't stand by and let her get hurt." Bobo said.
"Agreed. We'll use out second shot." Stella said.
They both ran out of the warrhouse. From their view, they could see the enemies from the side. If the enemy turned left, they'd see Dale easily.
Stella and Bobo fired. The energy was divided by the machines body and continued past them. It was like spraying water on a fixed object.
Dale saw Senko shooting at the robots face. The shots actually managed to crack its visor. Then it swung at Senko as she was mid-air. Her body few somewhere past Zilla. Dale fell to his kneese at the sight.
"Dear God…" Dale cried.
"Snap out of it Dale!" Stella had the same look of horror in her eyes too.
Dale wiped his tears off and regained his focus. He still felt the urge to cry in his throat, but he continued trying to proccess this fight.
They were going to lose and there was nothing Dale could do.
The square faced robot punched Zilla, but she blocked it with her wrists. It was slow, but Dale could see bruising on her arms.
The robot readied for another punch, then Zilla turned and raised her cannon. She fired and smoke filled the harbor. Dale could see, but he could hear the sound of a chainsaw. Zilla's saw most likely. Sparks began to flash in the smoke. Giving Dale only a glimps of the fight. Zilla kicked the V headed robot and it crashed into a ship. The smoke began to clear. The square faced robot pulled out a glowing blade. It swung, cutting through Zilla's saw like butter. The chain of the saw fell out of its case and hit the enemy, doing no damage.
"I want you to run..Chise..run!" Dale shouted.
Zilla understood now that she would die if she kept fighting. She did just that and ran inland. Shaking the ground as she did. The other robot stood up and began walking towards Dale. It most likely had spotted him when it fell.
"Are we giving up?" Stella asked.
"I don't want you guys to die..I can't take this anymore" Dale weeped.
"What?" Stella questioned.
"I said run..these guys know what we are capable of. So they'll hunt us down." Dale said.
"Thats damned selfish..you think I want to see you die too? I don't. We're freinds, I don't want you to die..this isn't fair." Stella said with tears running down her cheeks.
Dale studied the armor on him. He remembered the God lady's words.
"You're better that this Dale!" She had said.
Whatever she saw in him, Dale wondered if he let even God down at this point. What the Hell did she see in me? He wondered.
The machine was getting closer. Stella lookwd at the giant, then she looked down at Dale, who was on his kneese.
Stella grabbed Bobo's hand, then she pulled her. Bobo followed obediently like a child.
"Are you sure about this, sis?" Bobo said as she turned back to give Dale one last look.
"Yeah.." Stella said.
"Senko..Senko..you didn't have to go like that..it was a screwed up way to go.." Dale was weeping again.
A few seconds later the large square faced robot was standing before him. It kneeled down. It didn't have a humanoid body, but it managed to kneel anyways. It was shaped somewhat like themslelves. A door near the chest opened and he saw them coming out. Their helmets had a circular visor so they resembled cyclops. They wore some kind of armor and had guns.
Then a new idea came rushing in the form of adrinaline. How many can I kill? His hands were almost shaking in excitement, when he finished the thought. How many can I kill, before I die? The words 'before I die' began to circle in his mind. He was frozen in terror as the aliens put metalic cuffs on his wrists.
They spoke, but Dale couldn't hope to understand what they said.
Present-
The routine was simple. Torturous tests for hours, then hours of rest. Dale's wrist began to heal in a fucked up way. The muscle was exposed and seemingly dried out. It was just permanently exposed now. They had taken his left eye yesterday. Day one was the worst because they probed him multiple times. They showed no symlathy or used any kind of pain killers. Dale had screamed in both hatred and sorrow. He wanted to kill them so badly.
Right now was his rest time. Layed on a bed staring at the ceiling. Repeatidly praying to die. Begging God to just end his misery, when the cell door opened.
Dale sat up in terror.
"Why are you guys back?" Dale cried like a madman.
Two aliens stood by the door. One shorter than the other. They said something and then the alien raised its skinny arm. It began to glow and armor meterialized around its body. It looked just like his own. Were they taunting him? Dale knew he'd have to be incredibly stupid not to comprehend it. He felt rage replace his feeling of defeated sorrow.
"I'll fucking kill you!" Dale sounded like a possesed person at this point.
The door slid closed before Dale could reach the two aliens.
"You bastards…you bastards.." Dale said as he gently punched the door. His body was shaking in rage, but he was too tired. His muscles felt weak and lacking in basic strength. All drained from screaming and crying from their sick experiments.
"Just kill me…were you even God afterall?" Dale whispered. He looked up at the ceiling's dome lights. A few seconds of silence and he made a sour look of dissapointment.
