Chapter 13 - Deer Hunters

"Are you positive that you saw was real? You sure it wasn't just another imagination... like what you saw last month?"

"I know what I saw that time and this time."

"How many of them did you see?"

"At least a van full of them", said Fausto as he took another sip of beer. John and Paul look at him from across the table with concern in their eyes. "Well if you aren't imagining what you saw both of those times... there is a good chance that both of those things are related", says John. "Even if what you saw was "real", I don't think it's a good idea to be talking about it out in the open. Someone might hear", nervously tells Paul.

"Yeah, you're right. We should take this outside", agrees John.

The three men stand up and leave what are due on the table. They walk outside and hang around the outside of the bar. "So one more time, are you sure, absolutely sure that you saw them", asks John.

"How many times do I have to tell you John, there was a van load of military guys hanging around the outskirts of town. They were lock n' loaded with freakin' machine guns, I think they were stopping people from getting in here or people leaving."

"What makes you say that Faust?", asks John.

"When I saw them, I hid behind a rock. But a deer came walking out of the woods and try to walk pass the soldiers. I thought to myself that, that's one fearless ass deer but those guys instead of admiring it like how I was, just blasted that poor thing without a thought", says Fausto.

"That's weird", says John. Paul says after John, "Yeah that is weird, Deers are normally scared of people. Why would one just walk past by a group of people."

Fausto shrugs his shoulders and says, "Dunno. Maybe it was some super badass deer."

"Do you think if we went up there, we will still find them?", asks John. "Didn't you hear me John. They mowed down a deer", says Fausto. "Yeah but that's a deer, not a human. Come on let's go see what their business is with us."

"I don't think that's a good Idea John", says Paul. "I also don't think that's a good Idea, we should just call it a night", follows Fausto.

"Come on Paul, don't you want to see if Fausto wasn't imagining this. Hey, if he is right, maybe he was also telling the truth about that mutant thing that ate that homeless. I mean, I would like to know if it's the truth", says John. "we are just going for a ride we aren't going to talk to them, we are just going to see."

John says this as he is walking to his car and invites both of the men to enter, "Just a look."

Fausto and Paul look at each other and both know that if they don't go, John is just going to see regardless. So they both decide to get in, because of peer pressure or for the safety of John. There is no telling which.
