"But how did you get your hands on that stuff?" She tilted her face to stare into his deep black eyes.
Varun almost lost himself for a moment looking at her serious expression. Even when she was only interrogating him, he found her charms deadly. She was staring intently at him, and he wanted this interrogation to continue forever if it can give him the pleasure of gazing into her eyes.
"A friend of mine helped me," he lied to her.
Somya narrowed her eyes and raised an eyebrow over his excuse, clearly not believing his words.
Why is it hard to fool a smart girl! Can't she be just happy that he finally solved her problem! What is the need for her to investigate everything when the case is already closed!
Varun sighed. He knew better than anyone what kind of girl his hoodlum is. Even if she trust anyone unconditionally, she would never be willing to owe anyone anything.
So he tried to cover his lie by explaining, "My friend is a hacker, so he hacked Ansh's company's surveillance camera and got the footage and pictures from there. Don't worry! He did this because he owed me and not for you. So don't think about paying him." He added the last line because he doesn't want to get into more trouble by leaving a loophole. And the actual reason was he would feel jealous if she tried to reach anyone else for help instead of him. Even if the person he mentioned earlier was himself!
She seems to buy his excuse and said, "Oh. Still, say my thanks to him for helping me out and for you...let's have dinner somewhere? My treat?" She smiled at him, showing her white teeth.
Varun shrugged his shoulders and started his car.
After having a full meal and getting rid of her annoying fiance, Somya's mood was simply over the moon. She pulled Varun with her for a stroll, saying it's good for health.
They both were walking under the night sky.
Somya had already reported her whereabouts, and when she plans to come back home to her house head, her mom, so she has finally nothing to worry about now.
She was staring at the moon and the night sky while walking on the footpath near a Park. There were not many people there so nobody noticed her silly ways of walking, but Varun did.
Having his hands tucked in his pockets, he was following her, or better say she was running ahead of him. He observed that her mood seems to be quite good today, and for no specific reason, his spirits brightened too. In the moonlight, her smiling figure, along with her saree, was looking gorgeous. She was taking deep breaths in the fresh air with open arms.
They were walking for some time now. Neither one of them was talking anything but still, they had an evident bliss on their faces. Varun doesn't know when or where this walk will end, but he was sure that he would not be the one to end this.
Their surroundings became unusually calm. At this time, people should be taking a stroll here, but unexpectedly the whole street was empty. A sudden sound of many footsteps rushing near them was heard before a group of men from either side of the roads blockaded them.
They were all dressed in black outfits and even their faces were covered with a black cloth. But weirdly all of them have a turban on their head.
Somya was taken aback by the sudden marching sound of these people, and their presence shocked her. Like a startled bunny, she peeked here and there only to find herself surrounded by ten men carrying swords in their hands.
Seriously! Who the hell uses swords nowadays! She was sure that everyday robbers don't carry such stuff with them. She can't tell whether these people are here to steal or for something else, but for sure they were scary!
Her thoughts were making her terrified. The view of a real shining sword was enough to scare her and there were plenty of them. She scanned the whole street but can't find any way out. These people had circled them from all sides. Why does it look likes a movie scene?! But what in the world did these people want from her? Do these people think she and Varun are fatty rich! Does she look that good that these men took her to be a wealthy lady? Hey, she is only a middle-class girl who works in a bank and carries only little money with herself, alright!
Somya's mind was filled with her narcissistic ideas, and she completely forgot about the godly existence standing beside her. A sudden realization struck her, and she discovered that her phone and purse are still in Varun's car, so she can't even use any of her 'special items' on anyone here.
Being a girl, she always makes sure before leaving the house that she has a pair of red-chilly sprays with some other safety devices like fruit-cutting knives and some pointed things to use as weapons if needed with her. Her mind started to panic almost instantly, but she didn't let it appear on her face.
"What do you want," Varun asked calmly. Not even a hind of fear was present on his face. His eyes even carried a hint of mockery, which Somya failed to notice because of her back facing him, but those men did.

There was You~
