As soon as Claudia's necklace reached Hellion's pendant, it fixed inside the glowing ring perfectly as if it was made for it or was broken away from it in the first place. It shone even more brightly now that it was complete and the hexagonal imprint was illuminated from around its outlines as well, making it appear more vivid.
Both Hellion and Claudia stood there baffled, unable to blink and digest what they just witnessed. Never ever in his wildest dreams, Hellion had imagined that the thing he had been looking for his whole life was just at hand distance from him and he didn't even know about it.
When the leading corpse reached for the now completed medallion, Hellion snapped out of his trance and struggled against the force that held him back with a new passion. He could move his hands a little but still couldn't reach the medallion before the hand that had already curled its fingers around it.
