Cherry was getting ready for her engagement party, She was wearing Red color floor-length gown, she applied little makeup and painted her lips red. She wore a 5' stiletto. She looked in the mirror for the last time and then came out of the room as Charles was there to bring her to Chris's house. They have decided to have small get to gather with the family members only.
"Hey sweetie you are looking like a princess today", he said smiling.
"Thanks, Charles, we should get going otherwise we will be late for the party", Cherry said nervously.
Charles pulled her for a warm hug and then kissed her forehead and he intertwined his fingers with her and took her out of the house. They climbed into the car, started the engine, and drove off. There was complete silence in the car on their way towards Charle's house. Charles pulled his car when they reached near Chris's house and then looked towards Cherry.
"Cherry", he said while searching for the words he wants to tell her. Cherry looks into his eyes, "what do you wanna say Charles? Please go ahead", cherry asked him curiously.
"Always remember Cherry that I love you and I'll always be there for you no matter, what happens? As we don't know what our future is holding for us", he said calmly.
Cherry nodded her head and said, "I have loved you Charles, but the time has come that we should say goodbye to our old memories. You are the best thing that ever happened to me when I was alone. You filled my life with so many colors, thanks for being a part of my life.
Cherry got out of the car with Charles behind her, She tugged her arm in his and gave her a small smile, and then they started to make their way towards Chris's house.
Chris was standing at the front of his house wearing a black tuxedo which was suiting his body perfectly, his hair was properly combed, he was looking like a prince from fairy tales, he was desperately waiting for Cherry. As his eyes fell on Cherry, he smiled brightly. He started walking towards her with a bright smile on his lips, Cherry pulled her arm out of Charles's and looked towards him one last time, and started walking towards Chris. Chris pulled her in his arms and gave her a tight hug, he held her hand and kissed her on the knuckles. Then he looked towards Charles and gave him a small smile.
As they went inside the house Chris's parents welcome them with open arms. After a long time, Cherry was feeling the warmth of love. She looked towards Chris who gave him a loving smile. The whole atmosphere was so serene and warm. She was feeling like she is home after a long time.
"You are looking stunning darling", Mrs. Chang said smilingly.
"Thanks, Mrs. Chang", Cherry replied politely.
"Don't you ever call me Mrs. Chang again, call me mom from now on", she said firmly.
"Yes, mom", Cherry said lovingly.
Mrs. Chang smiled and embrace Cherry into a warm hug. Mr. Chang cleared his throat and announced their engagement.
Chris held my hand and slipped a beautiful heart-shaped ring into my ring finger. Everyone clapped for us and congratulate us. We had our dinner and then Chris and I danced. I was sitting in the corner with a glass of vine in my hand when Charles came to me with a glass of whisky.
"What are you doing here all alone?", he asked while scratching his eyebrow.
"Nothing I'm just tired and missing mom, if she would be here she would be more than happy to see me getting engaged to Chris.", Cherry said sadly.
"You have changed your taste in alcohol", he said while pointing to my vine glass.
It's just given by Mr. Chang, I don't want to say no so out of courtesy I accepted it", she said with a faint smile.
Take this, he handed her his glass of whisky and took the glass of vine from her hand.
Chris dropped Cherry at her place and drove off. Cherry was sitting on the sofa while drinking water. She was so tired from the engagement party. She went to her room and changed her clothes into comfortable ones after taking a warm bath. She slipped inside the covers and tucked herself properly but after tossing tuning for a long time she was not able to sleep. She hopped from her bed and went to the kitchen for making herself hot Chocolate milk. She came out with a cup of hot chocolate milk and went towards her room. She drank it and soon drifted into sleep.
Charles was sitting in his room, he had some papers in his hand. His face was expressionless. He was going through all the papers with a gloomy face. He threw papers on the table and leaned back on the Sofa. He took out a cigarette and lit it. He puffed then looked towards the man who was standing beside him.
"Arrange a meeting with Eric, I want to talk to him about Mr, X", he said coldly.
That man bowed and left the room. Charles killed the butt of the cigarette in the ashtray and got up from the sofa and went out of the room.
Cherry got up with the sound of the bell. She picked her phone and checked the time. It was eight in the morning. She grunted under her breath and got out of the bed and went towards the living room. She opened the door and saw Charles with some bags with a cup of coffee in his hand. He pushed Cherry aside and entered the house. She kept the bags on the dining table and pulled a chair and sat on it. Cherry stood there with her arms crossed on her chest. She had a questioned look on her face.
"Will you bother to explain what are you doing here so early in the morning?", she asked while death glaring at him.
He smiled sheepishly and looked towards her and pointed towards the bags, "I bring you breakfast so stop complaining and eat it before it gets cold".
Cheery scoffed in annoyance but sat down and started unpacking the food.
Mr. Zang was looking at the photos of Cherry's engagement. There was something very dark in his eyes. He throws the photos on the floor and got up.
How dare you look like this for any other person rather than me? How dare you let him touch you? You're going to pay for everything love. Be happy for now because I'll turn your smile into a nightmare. Just prepare for your marriage you will become the bride but not for that jerk but me. He chuckles evilly and then puts those photos on fire.
