After Maghreb prayers, carriages kept coming in carrying the wealthiest men in Liham with their wives. It was a tradition for men to have more than one wife, and mostly many of them had four wives as per their way of living except Ismail who had only one wife who was Shamar. The carriages were pushed by white stallions who were also adorned in red ribbons and blue ropes - even these horses looked wealthy.
The wives dressed to kill and I couldn't hold it as I found myself obsessed with them, adoring one design after the other. There was one who had a long green dress fashioned in gold and diamond, when her feet touched the floor everyone's attention was onto her and the crown she was wearing on her head, I later found out that she was Imraan's first wife and her name was Sumayra. Also a first wife was supposed to wear a crown on top of her head as a sign that she was the first one, and first wives were highly respected.
"Shall we darling?" Imraan asked Sumayra.
