I woke up from the bright sun shining into my eyes. I tried to get up but my body was more sore than I expected. I laid back down on my bed and stared out the sunroof at the sky.
"It's a lucky day there's no clouds in the sky."
I got up after a few minutes and started to change clothes. Jay chose a comfortable pair of sweatpants and a plain white T-shirt. He rubbed his eyes and headed to the kitchen to eat breakfast. On the fridge Jay found a sticky note that read;
"Out shopping! Cook some food for yourselves - Jasmine"
Jay went to the cupboard after reading the note and got out a cereal box. Although Jay convinces himself he's only eating cereal because he doesn't want to use any other dishes, it's really because he doesn't want to cook.
'That's what getting fired does for you, makes you not want to cook, that's why I ate cup noodles most of my life before.'
Jay reminisced about his past life, which was pretty boring. Then he poured the cereal over the milk and took it to the table. He switched on the television and watched a reality show, Ace still was nowhere to be seen. Jay ate his cereal then washed his bowl. After he put away the now-clean bowl, Jay went back to his room and picked out clothes to change into after his shower.
Jay walked into the bathroom and got out a clean towel. He turned on the shower to hot and flipped on the fan. The hot steam started to fog up the mirror but the fan quickly started to stop the steam. Jay tested the water with his finger before hopping in. He washed his hair and started humming then that humming turned into lyrics and eventually, song. Jay sang like no one could in someone else's home without embarrassment. With pride and bubbles he started dancing to go while singing the song before regretting not picking the soap off the floor.
*Smack!*
Jay slipped on the soapbar and smacked his head on the bathtub's rim.
"Ouch!"
Jay felt his head and found a small bump where he just hit. He finished his shower faster than he would have liked and changed before further examining his head. It would need an ice pack but it was okay for the moment so he brushed his teeth and left the bathroom.
"You okay?"
Jay heard Ace's voice sound from behind him in the hallway and immediately hoped he didn't hear his singing.
"Oh I'll need an ice pack but it's alright for now. Thanks for asking."
"Oh I meant your vocal chords. Man, you were really belting it out in there."
Jay felt shamefaced having Ace hear him singing and swiftly changed the topic.
"So where were you? I haven't seen you all morning."
"Oh I was still sleeping until I was woken up by your singing."
"Sorry…"
Jay wished the earth would open and swallow him up.
"I'm kidding but after I finish getting ready we're going to train."
"Yay…"
