(Year 10)
CAMBIAMENTO DI FEDE
Wh-wat? Where am I? He thought to himself. "What's this?" I brushed the wood with my hands, and ended up pricking my finger from a twig. "Ouch..." I started to scuffle in bewilderment, but I wouldn't budge more than two inches. "Such a nasty place," I said disturbingly.
The tapered top half of the wooden container was tailored to perfectly accommodate the width of my shoulders. Its anthropometric shape, which refers to the measurements and proportions of the human body, proved to be problematic for me. This wasn't any normal scenario... I was buried alive!
Should I yell out for help? Ok, I'll give it a try...
"Is anywhere out there?"
"Yeah, a passer-by. What's the deal?
"You can hear me?" I yelled back.
It took me a few moments to realize, but I knew of this voice. "Hey, do I know you? I need your help."
"Jeez, you've been out here for mere 20 minutes, and you can't recognize my voice?"
I sighed wearily. "Get to the point imbecile. What do you want?"
Her laugh was high-pitched, but when she spoke again, it was tampered with sweetness and bliss. "Say that you love me, and I'll get you out!"
"I'd rather die." I told her as tenderly as I could.
"Fine, go to hell."
"Where did you think I came from?"
I yelled again to gain her attention as I could hear her footsteps wafting away. I knew she'd come back. And she did.
"At least tell me how you did this; burying me alive without me realizing? Only a mastermind like you could come up with that. My pea-sized brain can't come up with something so- irremediable."
I could hear hesitation as she cleared her throat. "It wasn't so difficult, as you comprehended."
WHAT? DID I COMPREHEND IN BURYING MYSELF?
She continued; "You were sleeping next to the grave, so the people mistook you for a body."
"And you watched it all happen?" I asked eagerly.
"Of course, I did. How do you think I'd know?"
Wow...
"Okay, can you please get me out of here?" I pleaded.
"Only if you say the magic words!"
"I'll kill you. But fine, I like you." I sounded dull and unconvinced by my statement.
"Say it properly."
"Have you always been this demanding? It is impossible since I have no feelings for you."
"Ha! Even the word says I'm possible! SAY IT!"
"Okay, I love you. Now can you get me out?"
"See, it was that easy."
