(Year 21)
??: "Can you hear me? I'm Chungha."
Ki Tae: "Chungha, this is the police department; state the form of your emergency."
Chungha: "I s-shifted in today... To one of the less expensive flats- and I-I just came here for an entailed check, before I buy this flat through installments."
Silence cultivates temporarily, as Ki Tae leans on his seat; listening closely.
Chungha: "Oh Lord! You need to come here quickly! There's a child in the lounge, and it doesn't feel good."
Ki Tae: "A child in the lounge?"
Chungha: "It smells weird, too."
Ki Tae: "What's the child doing?"
Chungha: "She isn't moving, and her body's positioned towards the wall. It's a girl?"
Chungha: "I can't see the- the face."
Chungha: "Should I check it out?"
Ki Tae: "I need you to get out of the room, okay?"
Chungha: "Okay-"
Ki Tae: "I need you to tell me which floor you're on, and the apartment's name. Does the owner live here as well?"
Chungha: "Yes, he lives on the first floor."
Ki Tae: "I need you to hand over the phone to the owner. Okay?"
Chungha: "I will."
Chungha: (harsh, muffled breaths are heard from the receiver, as she goes down the staircase). "Benti Flats. It's the name of the... Flat. Just give me a minute."
Suddenly, head-splitting shrieks are discerned by the receiver end.
Ki Tae: "Chungha, can you hear me? Chungha is everything alright?"
Ki Tae: Hello? This is Ki Tae from the Heite district. Chungha, don't worry. I've located your whereabout- Help is on the way. Please stay put.
Immediately faint gurgling sounds could be heard in Chungha's background. A bewildered Ki Tae presses the telephone against his burning ear.
Ki Tae: Chungha... Can you still hear me?
His voice curtails as he perceives a low murmur calling out his name.
