However it was too late, the Karuma Panda turned into a shadow and disappeared in the darkness of the night.
"It's gone!" I gasped when the shadows of the Karuma Panda wasn't there anymore.
"There's no way to find it now." Seanyung put his wand back into his bag.
"We were so close to capturing it." I sighed.
"Can we find a place to stay, please? It's becoming cold." Paikek suggested as his wings disappeared.
"I have an idea. We can call Mrs Kimiko. She always helped us." I opined while I felt my cat ears dropped down.
"To be honest, that's all we can do." Seanyung agreed with my opinion, as he nodded.
We walked towards Mrs Kimiko's magic academy in the dark streets of the Kawaakari city, while four of us turned back to normal.
The shining city lights were blocking the view of the sky as we walked. Darkness had a big place in the city. We knew how to fight it, but we didn't know why it was killing the stars in the sky.
As we walked across the bridge, I put my headphones on, listening to the song "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls featuring Avril Lavigne.
Tears fulfilled my eyes, teardrops sliding across my cheek as I listened to the verse with lyrics; "I don't want the world to see me, 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand. When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am."
It gave me goosebumps and shivered my down from my bones when Avril Lavinge sang that part while I was watching the city lights shining and fading from the Kawaakari bridge.
"Guys, I am getting tired. Can we rest for a bit?" Paikek panted as he put his hands on his knees.
"Sure. We have been sleepless for hours." Seanyung concurred and he added; "Let's sit here."
Seanyung and Paikek sat on the edge of the bridge. Then Bomyu and I also hanged our feet off the edge of the bridge. The level of the river was numerous meters below us. But, the reflection of the skyline of the city was visible from up here.
"I am so happy to have you guys. I don't know what I would do without you." I put my arm around Seanyung's shoulder who was on the left side of me. On the other side of him, there were Bomyu and Paikek, gazing upon the city.
"Karu, actually we wouldn't be able to do anything without you." Paikek smiled heartily, showing his shiny teeth.
"I agree with you, Paikek. Karu brought us back together." Bomyu made eye contact with Paikek as he spoke.
"Thank you, guys!" I thanked them with a friendly smile on my face.
I noticed Seanyung staring at my backpack which I put behind me when I first sat down. He picked it up and looked inside it with his eyes widened.
"What's wrong, Seanyung?" I asked him curiously.
He turned his face to me with his eyes widened; "Why my diary is in your backpack?"
I got speechless when Seanyung took his diary out of my bag.
"Karu, why is my diary in your backpack?" Seanyung asked, as he picked up his blue diary.
"Because..." I faltered in uncertainty, but then I explained; "Because it was at our apartment. I found it under your pillow the day that our apartment demolished."
"Oh, thank you for saving it for me." Seanyung patted my shoulder in a friendly way.
"You're welcome."
"I really need to sleep now." Seanyung yawned.
"Me too." I nodded.
"We can sleep here, nobody uses this bridge." Seanyung laid back after he checked around.
"Yeah, you're right." I agreed with Seanyung, and I put my head on his chest.
"I want to sleep too." Paikek intervened as he laid beside Seanyung.
"All of you can sleep, I will watch around." Bomyu assured in his low voice tone as he stayed on the corner of the bridge.
"Thank you, Bomyu." I thanked him and I closed my eyes, trying to sleep.
In the first few minutes, the cold breeze made it difficult for me to fall asleep. However, the silence of the night relieved me so I could sleep after an hour.
My eyes were tightly closed, listening to the sound of the wind until Seanyung turned his other side while sleeping.
So I opened my eyes, seeing that Seanyung was sleeping in the fetal position. However, it was only two of us; the Bomyu and Paikek weren't there.
I stood up to look for them but they didn't seem to be anywhere close. I gazed closely and it took me a second stare to notice two people sitting on the edge of the bridge, as I was so sleepy and dreamy.
The wind that made me shiver blew across the bridge, as I walked towards the guys I saw.
When I got close enough, it became obvious that they were Bomyu and Paikek, hanging their legs from the edge of the bridge.
They were looking at the eyes of each other, while Bomyu wrapped his arm around Paikek. Seeing them there made me gulp nervously, as my body heat and my heartbeat rose with a feeling that I could never express.
Bomyu put his other hand behind Paikek's neck as he leaned closer to Paikek's face, without breaking the eye contact.
