Ch 1 - Audronaut: A Broken People
As the moon hung deep over the night sky, a winter chill swept by a lone tower on a hill. The tower was quite short in size, only standing 10 stories high. It stood proud in its meager appearance. In its days of glory the tower looked down upon celestial bodies near and far, but the arrogance of man was said to be its fall.
At the front gate of the tower, a man stood overlooking the city below the hill. Although it was a cold night, the city seemed untouched as the warmth of life in the city below seemed to radiate for miles in every direction. King Audronanaut stood in thought, overlooking the remnants of his kingdom, perplexed at the fall of his people. Greed broke apart a species united. Yet, nations now stand at odds.
"My King, the people need you." A shadowy figure slowly appeared behind the man as if pulling itself from the shadows. "You must lead us to unite the masses at all cost, my liege. These differences in cultures they speak of is merely an excuse. If the people were to learn of the greater world they would understand the gravity of the situation and not fall to such base temptation."
"Nene, are you of the thought that I have not already thought of this option. If so, I feel I must inform you that the thought has crossed my mind on many occasions but the fact remains that it is simply not an option at all."
"I must apologize my King, but I am unable to see your reasoning. If you would oblige, I ask that you enlighten me."
"Hmm, Nene, you have been a dear friend of mine since the days of Atlantis. We have been through catastrophe after catastrophe and war after war. I trust you but you seem to doubt me. If it means so much to you then let it be said. Humans are simply too weak. Although our alliance of sects have risen through the ranks of races in our galaxy do you think we will be able to sustain? Our ancestors were wrong although we were ostracized by our fellow people, leaving them behind was never the answer. Even if we were to inform our people of the monsters all around us it would do nothing. Our sects have lacked fresh blood for millenia. So the division and fall of our people is worth it in the end. I'll take a page out of the book of humans. Retreat, Regroup, Re Engage. With our return knowledge and power will return with us, let our people continue to survive, let them thrive. We may never be immortal, but together we are eternal. Glory to the motherland!"
"We may never be immortal but together we are eternal. Glory to the motherland." The shadowy figure began to melt into the surrounding darkness, disappearing from the tower."
"Earth has returned to a primal era and the humans need help progressing as a gift, I will help them slowly redevelop before my passing. To begin I will introduce them to the…

'Huh? Where is the group? Did I die? Legacy trial? Don't tell me that the canister I drank from was an Ancestral Sea potion.'
'What are the chances? Ancestral Sea Potions cost millions of dollars at the cheapest. If this is a high grade potion I should have a high chance at developing a great ability.'
'Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes so high, too bad I didn't know beforehand we could have sold the potion for millions of dollars. If a good ability doesn't manifest then would it be worth the waste.'
'Let me just see if I can finish. I can't believe I actually got a chance with one of these. If I do this right I should get decent power and may even be able to get a real decent job. We might have a chance at surviving the creeper apocalypse.'
'This is great. Please give me a nice power.'
'Ok, new era humans seem to be cavemen. Wait, is this story real. They say the technology is supposed to let you tap into the memories of your ancestors to retrieve an ability in real time.'
'So is this my ancestor, King Audronaut. King of the Tower. What is the greater world? What could have demoralized such a strong force? '
'Well forget it, now is not the time.'
'For new humans, what would I want? The ability to protect myself, ability to communicate, ability to accumulate wealth, ability to form groups and nations, or an increase to my physical abilities.'
'Well, the beasts in this world are humongous and the different human groups are very hostile. They seem to lack trust between each other. So I will go with weaponry, linguistics, and stats.'
'Weaponry so they can defend if necessary, linguistics so they can communicate more efficiently, and stats so they can survive easier.'
After the three were selected many men and women around the world were given knowledge, ability, and power.
The best of those that were chosen were named Tomas, Jason, Louis, Arthur, Uranus, Yudi, Izanagi, Izanami, and Odin. There was also his son with a mortal woman, Damian Dragoon.
Damian was given inspiration in the field of tools which was a weapon sub-skill. He developed the first Blade.
This blade was odd in shade. Its appearance stood midway between a Katana and a Saw. Teeth lined the sharp point of the blade. But, it's true power lies in its number and its operation.
The blade was small in size, merely 7 in. in length. Yet there were 18 of them and each could be controlled through communicating to them.
3 days later…
Wow, forging those blades took longer than I thought.

"Aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh" When he awoke from the trial he found himself in the Forest of Naked Sand.
The world received a message from the sky that introduced the end of 'Stage - 1'
After the announcement lasted for seven days the plants and beast of the world began to take on unnatural powers and abilities after evolving. In order to keep pace. China was the first to study the way they evolved and introduced ways for humans to do the same. The ancestral sea.
Soon many countries began to do the same. Then the dungeons appeared. Humans were able to keep the otherworldly beast at bay, at first. Then one of the grand [Live Hive] level nests broke, unleashing Parasites that began to invade the world.
When the creepers attacked, they attacked North America from the western coast. In Phoenix Arizona the Forest of Naked Sand has many low level creeper hives. Becoming a mid - tier danger zone.
'Good, they didn't hear me. Where is this?'
As he begins to scan the desert around him and the forest of high rising dunes, he notices a group of scorpions slowly making their way over. Night walkers, these are an especially deadly form of scorpion with weird claws that emit a dark energy.
They are pretty common in these level danger zones. But, they are pretty low level so even unawakened humans can take them down as long as they avoid the stingers.
Only there's a lot of them.
'Where's my dagger? Dang, I don't have a way to fight. Let me check my awards. Uhh, menu. Open. Uhh, Upgrade.'

"Perfect test subjects." As they slowly drew near they also maintained a steady distance from each other looking to attack from all sides. That was when he noticed the feeling in his feet.
When he activated the skill, his foot began to harden.
'It seems I will need to learn to control this boot skill.'
[Lead Boot]
A green scorpion descended from the back, looking to take advantage of his prey's blindspot. All the while charging up the stinger. Right as it was about to attack Donny began to feel danger from his back along with the sound of something creeping closer.
Without hesitation he stomped in the direction of the sound.

If someone would have walked by they would have been amazed at the scene. Instead of a man being surrounded by a collective of wild beasts, it appeared more like someone simply killing bugs.
The gold one, which Donny did not target in fear of its ability, began to tremble in fear before running off
Skills have always been random and there has not yet been a comprehensive list to rank abilities, and this has been made ever more difficult due to the lack of similarity in their development and/or their power
Upgrade doesn't seem to fit the status quo. Most abilities start by giving you stat increases. Why do I have to pay for mine?
