"Hmm, either way it doesn't matter because you can't cut this - ." Before he finished his words, Lazer Monkey had already begun to lift his hand to shoot.
In the same time it took him to lift his hand Tectonic Ronin had already taken three steps and drew his sword. Yet, it doesn't seem as if Monkey has noticed.

As the Lazer left his palm, his hand went with it. After the dust settled it seemed as if everyone was left in shock not knowing what happened. Was I the only one who could see it? Is my perception that good, or is it a side effect of the upgrade skill?
Either way that skill was cool.

Huh, I can collect skill shards? Unfortunately, it isn't a [Tectonic Blade] skill shard. If I can learn that skill, I would definitely have a leg up. But, this is great too. Maybe if I keep watching everyone's match I can learn more.
As the match drew on the skill gap became very distinct. Although, Lazer Monkey wasn't weak. Tectonic Ronin used to be one of the best and strongest in the world. Even on the same level it would be hard to beat such instinct and skill.

Although Adonis would have loved to learn one of the more complex skills these were the only 2 he used in the fight. Even still Laser Monkey could do nothing about it.
[Landside Step] as a skill overall isn't the greatest due to its lack of potential, but in battle, especially one on one, it is very useful. By tapping the ground in certain rhythms you can send vibrations through the earth to disturb your opponents balance and rhythm.
Using this against a long-range opponent can also be effective if you have skill and Marx has a lot of that. Each time he used the skill Monkey's Laser shot would be thrown off target just enough for Marx to counter.
The fight was finished without suspense and the event began to move on fluidly throughout the night and soon enough…
"Introducing Adonis Draco of [Party of Fools] Taskforce!!!"
"Who is that?"
"Never heard of him"
"Must be recently awakened."
"Ah, yes another new age geno warrior. It may prove difficult to take on some of the elites though."
"Now for his opponent. Lady Snake of [Laughing Fowl] Dojo."

"Someone get that kid out of there."
"I think only Marx would be on her level."
"Isn't that the snakefist global champ from last year?"
"Yeah, I heard she punished a man's temples and his eyes came out."
"Unlucky" The crowd said in unison.
A young woman in her twenties began to ascend the stage. She wore a purple lace veil with a white brimmed purple hat. Her hands hung loose at her sides, a purple liquid seemed to drip from her nails. I do not want to be touched by that. Looks like Peter is up first, because… Nope.
Just nope.
"Ooo, you are pretty handsome. It'd be a shame if someone damaged such a pretty face so why don't you sit this one out, hun" Her words were sour and harsh, but fell on deaf ears.
Donny immediately charged at her while drawing [Sonic Shard] from his waist.
Seeing such a straightforward approach the crowd couldn't help but cringe at the sight.
"Agh, he's too young, and foolish."
"Who runs headfirst at such a demon.?"
Seeing him coming straight at her Lady snake couldn't help but let a stupid grin spread across her face in anticipation.

Seeing her get into position, he had a good idea of her repertoire of strikes. Seeing her open her gate to begin her assault, his response was ready

Seeing her first strike miss, she was momentarily taken off guard. Donny then threw his hand out as well. But she merely laughed it off and dodged.
"His footwork is not bad though"
"Wait is that? No way! But it has to be."
While the crowd was stunned at his familiar footwork they were even more taken aback by what appeared behind her. When he threw that seemingly weak strike a [Gold Knight Scorpion] appeared to swing its swift stinger right at her back.
Feeling the threat of danger behind her she attempted to turn and block but it was too late. The stinger stopped right at her forehead. If this was a life and death battle she'd be dead.
"Winner, Adonis Draco."
"Did he just summon a beast or am I tripping?"
"No, that was real."
"Does he have a beast pet."
"What ability is that?"
"That's awesome."
"He really one?"
"Wild."
As Adonis left the video the video of his victory was instantly uploaded to the Tube. Lady Snake already was a well known celebrity in the Danger zone. Seeing her in combat was a favorite pastime of many adolescents.
"No way, Lady Snake lost already."
"She got first rounded by a nobody."
"Well he's somebody now, did you see his pet?"
"I didn't even know we could have a pet beast. Is that legal?"
"If it is his ability then it's legal."
"That's OP."
"Only in the beginning. I take Beastial studies at ASU, and unless he knows how to help it level up and evolve he'll soon be in trouble with the stronger fighters such as Tectonic Ronin."
As the fights went on, the collection of skill shards grew. Some skills that Donny saw weren't as useful so he decided not to use them or pay as much attention.
"Introducing Campbell Gamble, of the gambling Campbells."
"Huh, he's here too?
"Is he famous?" Adonis couldn't help but ask.
But the elderly man couldn't help but scoff. "How would you not know Campbell Gamble, the Gaming fiend? He single handedly fought a E-tier creeper nest by himself."
"Woah, so strong."
