Chapter 18 - Mary

A week passed quickly, as someone who lived for countless years prior to his reincarnation, the passing of week was nothing to him it almost flew by from his perspective, within this past week Lucius continued to try to condense the gas within his brood space into a liquid form, currently there was only one drop so far. Lucius estimated that he would need to at least need to create 49 more drops before all the gas was fully condense, so that he could begin his upgrade to an intermediate tester, this would almost take six years according to Lucius calculation at his current speed, Lucius could only sigh and continue to work on it diligently hoping his hard work played a little part with lowering the amount of time in which it took to condense the gas. Within this period as well he continued his sparring with Adam, during this time he constantly improved his application of elements with the Hands of Time.

A week later Lucius awoke the same time only this time he wasn't heading for his training room, but outside to the main house where the children of the King family who showed some promise would be taught, waiting outside his room was Adam, he wore a smile on his face and instead of his normal white training uniform, he wore a black tuxedo looking incredibly charming. It didn't seem Lucius got the memo as he was in his normal attire wearing a white training uniform. Looking at this Adam said nothing and just continued smiling, he didn't mind Lucius attire one bit, if anything it only showed his dedication. Adam has been the leader of the King family for almost three decades before that his father before him was the leader of the family but sadly he died trying to break through to stage four. Gregory also had the poise of becoming the next leader as well, looking at this one could imagine how high of a prestige Adam held within the King family, as well as the immense expectations placed upon Lucius.

As Lucius walked out of the villa that had been specifically constructed for his private use, he was guided by Adam, as they walked along a stone paved path, and a large building that had the look of a castle came into view. Normal children would have been shocked seeing this building for the first time, but Lucius wasn't moved, once carrying the title 'the ruler of hell' , he had countless worlds under his feet, wealth like this meant nothing to him it was simply a means to an end. "Today is the day I make my appearance of the number prodigy of my generation", a girl with a tiny figure repeated over and over again within the mirror as if trying to convince herself about her statement. This girls name was Mary, she had long golden blond hair that reached down to her back, although Mary was only six this year she already had the look of someone that you knew would grow up to become a stunning beauty. Walking out her bedroom door she heard her parents speaking, "I heard the Patriarch grandson would be attending the family's classes for elites from today". Hearing this Mary's mother showed a shocked expression and worried expression and responded. "But isn't he only three this year why are they letting him enter so soon"? "Isn't it obvious to continue to portray their dominant image within the family".

The man responded obviously with a bit a helplessness within his voice. Hearing the conversation Mary couldn't help asking what was going on, obviously both of them had no idea that Mary entered the room as they were so caught up in the conversation. "I guess it's better you learn sooner than later, the boy we're talking about is Lucius the grandson of the patriarch, it was said that the Patriarch used the law orb that was within storage to test his Law affinity, and the result came back positive, after that he also used his power to apply for a spot to receive family's allotted quota to the Academy located on Mustique". Although Mary may be a child she also had an understanding of matters related to the family and the cultivation world, she was trained by her parents at a young age to become the genius she is today. A lot of expectations were on her shoulders, leading her to be nervous about today where she would meet the other geniuses of the family. "Where would I match"? "Will I let my parents down"? "Am I really good enough"? Was just some of the questions she had on her mind about today. But seeing her seeing her parents' expressions, now it seemed like all those expectations faded away, it was almost like a weight off her shoulder. "Mary, listen to me befriend that boy and never offend him, he may as well take over the position now it is obvious that he'll be the next ruler of the family, sigh and here I thought that maybe this was our time to shine". Mary completely was in her own thoughts at that point and didn't hear the last few sentences said by her father.
