Chapter 22 - Outburst

The other parents who were apart of the main family that heard Omar's statement wasn't surprised, Jonathan not only disrespected the patriarch and who could be assumed as the future patriarch but also offended Omar as well by using his name as the cause to discipline Lucius. They were only surprised when they heard that Lucius wouldn't be participating but was still given first place, although they didn't know why, they honestly didn't care, they had resources as important members of the main family, although the elite class was a good initiative and provided a lot of resources to students, it was an open secret between the Main family members that the elite class was mainly to act as a social platform where relationships would be established between the future leaders of the King Family, where they could learn and grow together. On the hand for the people that came from branch families, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity which could change their lives.

Now that Jordan had lost his spot it was obvious that he wouldn't be one of those fated to make an impact within the King family no matter how talented he was. The problem as well was also due to the fact he was related to the King family, although he was somewhat talented no other family would take him in either unless he became a Breake, his life was fated to be someone without any accomplishments, as had been said previously unless you became a breaker, or had an important background you were considered irrelevant to the individuals who actually mattered. Seeing as Johnathan had just lost his background he was back to square one, only this time he had nowhere to move forward. As if reality had just kicked in and the previous minute of his life had been a dream, Johnathan was still in disbelief. "Mr. Omar I'm very sorry I didn't...." Johnathan said but as if sensing Omar's killing intent he stopped mid-sentence. Looking around the room for help, everyone shifted their eyes from him and Jordan, even the other branch families members in the room that he had previously befriended kept their distance. It was only at this point, those branch family members finally learned that although it seemed that everyone was of equal status within the room. Some obviously transcended this elite class limitations. Lucius watching this exchange simply nodded at Omar's statement then responded, "Teacher Omar seeing as the classes have finished for the day may I be excused".

Although Lucius previously agreed to Adam that he'd put on a display that he cared about what they taught, but after seeing the persons around him other than the adults who were apart of the main family who were breakers and a few of the children around who seemed to be actually talented no one else really made him feel it was worth his time to stay here . Also before those children became a tester Lucius didn't see what was the point of sparring or watching their fights. Fighting before one became a tester incorporated the use of marital arts, especially within the King family where the practice of hand to hand combat was so important, Lucius level of hand to hand combat had long reached the level of a master within his previous world and although he had some things he could still polish up on, he could still train with Adam for that. So why would he care about watching a bunch of little kids fight, although they may be talented, you'd have to first turn that talent to power to be able get Lucius undivided attention, of course there were exceptions as well. Adam and Omar hearing Lucius response only nodded in understanding, they would be the same way as well, considering the difference between him and the other kids, it would be hard for any of them to catch up in the future. Although money and connections were important strength was always right, therefore there was nothing wrong with Lucius attitude at this point in time. One person was however displeased and couldn't help speaking up. "Before you talk all big and want to leave right after how about you fight me first" Mary said. Mary felt that she owed Lucius because of what he indirectly did, reducing her parents expectations, which in turn reduced the stress place on her. Yet Lucius overbearing Attitude was very annoying to her in that moment, it felt as if Lucius didn't put them his eyes at all. Hearing his daughter's outburst, Mary's father was taken aback but soon returned to his senses wearing a horrified look on his face.
