Within the Edge universe, talent was tested through two aspects; physical trait compatibility and elemental or law affinity. Breaker powers were used through body parts that are changed to match the law or element one gains after one promotes to a Breaker, the class every supernatural being walks within edge universe. Each aspect tested how far someone was able to walk along the path of a breaker, as a breaker one's physical trait would no be longer human in nature whether it was an eye, hands or even hair there may be a change to match the class and affinity one advances to.
For the law affinity, this isn't something normally tested but as a bloodline family who once featured within its ranks a demigod it had a strong foundation and could handle the cost associated with the testing of law affinity. Although this may the case at least 5 percent of the King's family wealth was spent to accomplish this considering they owned an eighth of Hairouna, the immense cost behind this could be seen. The equipment featured a clear colored stone held up within the air through some unknown force and a machine with various tubes looking like something out of a sci-fi novel. Looking on Lucius was indifferent to this, as someone who lived for millennia he saw various mystical objects that he himself couldn't explain although he couldn't see through these things that didn't mean he would be shocked.
"It wasn't till I was admitted to the organization my Law affinity was determined to think little Lucius would have such an opportunity at only at only three months old" Adam said. Law affinity wasn't something that was available for everyone as only one out every million who become a breaker may possess high enough affinity with a certain law but even then it wasn't guaranteed as not even one of them may be able to create a trait that contain Law abilities, once someone was able to unlock a trait that featured a law the path then became open for them to become a demigod. Lilith at this point carried over Lucius to the machine first to be tested, this machine identified what physical feature would be more likely to carry powers. For the king family the right hand was normally the strongest with the demigod ancestor of the family said to have unlocked the power to control time with his hands, at his peak it was rumored he could stop the time of an entire solar system.
Looking at the machine Lucius himself felt a little curious "hmmm I wonder what trait best suit me" he thought. As Gregory and Lilith attached him to the machine they themselves were a little curious and worried as although they knew Lucius was special his trait would determine his entire future. There were many cases of individuals gaining a trait and power only for it to be within their reproductive organ rendering them basically useless within a battle, sadly these individuals weren't in the minority.
Back within the library Lucius was finally connected to the machine, "what are you waiting for begin already" Adam angrily rebuked Gregory, while inwardly mumbling "with the talent the boy has already shown and his high blood concentration it is impossible for him to be useless if he is, the heavens truly isn't fair" little did he know if this was said within Lucius previous world everyone would be truly appalled knowing the devil himself is now dependent on the heavens for success. Starting the machine Gregory was still worried but as the machine stopped running and displayed the results not only him but Lilith and Adam were shocked as well.
The machine after 1 minute finally read out the result in a robotic voice, "Four traits found to have high compatibility, eyes, left and right hand, and hair. This statement itself isn't a problem but what it said next was the point that shocked them the most "unique trait found". Looking at physical outline on the screen identified by the machine it seemed that unique trait was Lucius's heart.
