Her name is Bedelia, a girl with a strange birthmark on her back... and this was Eighteen years living at the orphanage, mama Getty as the children call her told me that some stranger bought me here at the orphanage one cold night.
She was thankful she wasn't found in a dumpster someone at least knows she existed but come to think of it what if I was picked up by a good stranger?
Bedelia sighed loudly and tried not to think about it, there was no use in thinking about something that would ruin her day. Jace was also brought in the same day she arrived at the orphanage and that might be the reason they became inseparable over the years.
She connected with him more than the other kids and adults who were always scared of being too close to her.
"Watch your head! she heard someone call loudly toward her and instantly bent over just in time to dodge the ball that flew over her head
"I'm so...sorry, I didn't mean to be this reckless" her attention drew toward the little girl with a ponytail hairstyle who was already weeping.
"I didn't mean to, I promise" she touched her throat with her right finger with fear in her eyes.
"It alright" I smiled and bent over to her "There's no need to cry," Bedelia consoled and reached up to wipe her tears.
"I'm so....sorry" she kept crying and hiccuping at the same, time.
"I told you, it was fine, I wasn't hurt...
"So you've forgiven me? she asked looking up at her innocently
"Of course, I was never angry at you" This time she smiled more cheerfully, "I thought...
"You thought, what? Bedelia asked and stared curiously at her brown beautiful eyes.
"You know everyone said that you're bad and... I should stay away" she stuttered and focused her gaze on the ground, Bedelia smiled and strengthen up.
"What's your name? Bedelia asked admiring her blond hair.
"My name is Alexa and I'm six year old" I laughed at her cuteness this time.
"That's nice, so tell me, Alexa, do you think I'm still bad like people tells you? she stared silently at her for a second then shook her head slowly.
"I love your smile" she giggled at her and Bedelia could only think of how
"Thank you, Alexa, I love yours too" Bedelia touched her cheek lightly then reached for the ball laying on the ground next to them.
"Here you go" I handed it over to her and watched her run back to her bewildered friends.
"You look happy," Jace said looking up from his phone to stare at me
"I'm always happy" Bedelia responded slumping down on the bed beside him.
"No, you're not" he laughed as he watched her.
"People speak terrible things about me, you know?
"Of course, I do but when did you start caring about other their opinions.
"I still don't care, just that it's bad watching them poison young mind about me"
"Young minds?" Jace asked curiously.
"Every little child out there have a bad opinion about me because adult out there keeps filing them with nonsense"
"Are you angry? She Saw his eyes flickered of emotions.
"I'm fine, you don't have to pity me" Bedelia assured and laid comfortably on his side.
"I'm not...and by the way, you should be thinking about school tomorrow"
"No, I'm not" Bedelia groan loudly, she hated school and the thought of it was enough to make me go crazy.
"I hate, I hate this" "You'll still have to" he chuckled which made me toss a bag at him.
"I hate you, you know that right? she rolled her eyes at him.
"Yeah, I do... he was laughing now while I shut my eyes to get some sleep, they're just like two opposite ends.
