They both woke up to jog the next morning that was the only thing that could help her clear her mind for the day, she still can't understand the ideology of the endless torture called school.
They both jogged down the orphanage block till we reached the last row breathlessly.
"We can't go further, you know that Bedelia this is our final stop" Jace warned and halted behind her, of course, she knows that but instead Bedelia groaned loudly in frustration and stopped to glare at him in anger.
"I don't think theirs any harm in running a few more meters away from here" She gestured ahead and tried to convince Jace.
"You know the rules, Bedelia, we need to go back, to save us from trouble" But Bedelia pretended to be sad, she just wanted to spend more time out here to avoid getting to school on Time.
"Your sad face doesn't work on me, Bedelia" Jace chuckled as he watched her why was she always acting stubborn?
"Please Jace, breaking the rules only this once wouldn't ruin our reputation" Bedelia clasps her palm in the plea.
"Fine then but just a meter away," Bedelia nodded excitedly and they speed up again while she tried to keep her pace with Jace. Getty had made strict rules never to cross the boundary but today she wanted to take the risks. And just a few meters away she felt goose bumps down her skin and a blurry vision.
"Jace! she called out, halting abruptly behind him and trying to recollect herself.
"Are you alright? Jace stopped and ran back to her.
"What's wrong, Bedelia? he asked and reached out to her, she started to speak and the next moment he vanished from her sight.
"Jace!! Bedelia screamed into the darkness and tried to reach for him but found darkness and shadows.
" Bedelia! Jace called out to her as she started unconsciously in space.
"Bedelia, talk to me! he yelled at her while holding her face close to his. " Can you hear me, Bedelia, she slapped her cheeks nervously, while trying to get her back to consciousness and after what seemed like the scariest minutes of his life...she gasped and cling to him in fear.
"Where were you, why did you leave me all alone here? Bedelia fought her tests as she held on to him dearly, she couldn't explain what just happened and the only thing she felt now was fear.
"I didn't leave you, Elia, what are you talking about? you lost consciousness for some minutes" He explained and pulled her into a tight embrace.
"Are you alright? he asked rubbing her back nervously and trying to understand what happened minutes ago.
"I...I...thou...thought...you left" Bedelia stuttered and pulled away from him to glare at him.
"I was right beside you, Bedelia, he just didn't know the right way to explain it to her, she had looked...dead for some minutes.
" Are you okay? he reached only to find out that she was burning up and her face was looking pale.
"I need to get you home right now," he says grabbing her wrist.
"I was all alone in the dark, Jace, it was frightening" Bedelia's voice breaks as she tried to explain what she felt in just seconds she was there but couldn't find the right word.
"It fine now, I'm here" Jace reach out to kiss her lips briefly "You're with me" Bedelia could only nod and allowed him to take her back to the orphanage.
"My back is itching badly," she told her when they finally got to her room.
"Let me see. Jace came close to examine her back "Oh My word! he screamed in surprise.
"What?!! Bedelia asked impatiently in fear
"It changed! he answered in a confused state, what the hell happened to the birthmark scribbles on her back?
" What did you mean, it's changed? Bedelia asked and walked to the mirror to see for herself only to find a shaped pentagon drawing on her back! Was this possible?
Jace reached out to touch the drawing on her only to scream out in pain "What the hell! Bedelia turn and saw the red burn on his finger.
" What is happening? she muttered and stared at Jace for an answer, the door suddenly flung open and they both turned and saw Getty.
'Why did you cross the border!! Getty yelled as she walked in anger, Bedelia turned to Jace in surprise, how the fuck did she know that!
"You don't have the right to tell us what to do!
"You live under my roof, you follow my rules!! Bedelia watched her leave afterward as she slammed the door behind her.
