Chapter 41 - Offering Help

'What does he mean by the same blood clan? Is he trying to trick me?'

Zaiden was unable to comprehend if he was pretending, or master Michal really meant his words. He felt a tingling sensation upon his touch and the wound didn't hurt again. The old man could see Zaiden didn't trust him, which relieved him.

'This kid isn't easy to manipulate. His observant nature and determination will keep him proceeding cautiously.'

He lifted his hand and was proud of his work. The old man never had any trouble using such spells, since many vampires could practice them after 60% attunement level.

"You can rest assured, kid. I'm not going to expose you, we are in the same boat."

He tried to gain his interest seeing that Zaiden wasn't budging. He needed to protect him for his element, Zaiden flinched indicating his interest in the topic.

"I'm not understanding whatever you are saying, master."

Zaiden pretended to be confused upon the statement, he was still unsure about the words master Michal said. The old man was still unable to gain his trust with his intentional twisted words.

"A clever one, I see!"

He smiled and sat beside Zaiden on the bed. The old man inspected the healed spot, disclosing the fact to him.

"I know your blood group belongs to the noble class, you possess the most rare chaos element."

Zaiden concluded that he could trust him for now, if the professor wanted to expose him he would already have contacted the faculty.

Undoubtedly Zaiden' existence itself was a miracle, and the emergence of a noble blood was both a good and a bad omen. Since the nobles disappeared Zaiden' life was endangered, however master Michal was willing to keep his mouth shut.

"Does it mean I have your trust?"

Upon seeing Zaiden complying to his words the old man was relieved. He had already figured out that he needed to treat Zaiden Rivers on an adult's level.

The boy nodded slightly and glanced at his healed chest, no wonder he became amazed with the wonders each day. Master Michal cast a serious, thoughtful look at Zaiden' eyes. The flecks were noticeable now, and the crimson shade combined with them made the boy stand out even more.

The ward was huge and the distance between the beds was enough. No one could hear the conversation of Mr Michal and Zaiden, moreover the ward was made sound proof. Acknowledging the vampiric hearing senses the room was made to block the voices from outside and to insulate the interior chattering too.

"Your eye will go back to crimson shade soon. Don't worry about that, it's just the beginning of your transition."

Upon seeing the confused expressions of the boy, the old man took the liberty to explain him. Zaiden' eye changing was the indicator of his transformation, his body was finally catching up to adapt to the chaos element. The golden flecks were more like the symptoms of the initiated process.

"Why do you want to help me?"

Zaiden stated his doubt without masking him, undoubtedly he expected truth in response to his blunt confrontation. The old man chuckled softly and grinned.

"I'm not offering you any help, kid. You see, all other blood groups are reoccurring ones and are progressing in every possible aspect to evolve. But among the noble bloods only O positive are living,"

He paused and scoffed upon his own words, Zaiden' only option was to absorb as much knowledge as he could manually. Since his gem was destroyed and it would consume time before he could get another one.

"I would say 'hiding.' You are the only O negative one, well after miss Hestia. It's been eons since chaos element had blessed the vampires, I don't care whose son you are and how old are you. All I care is the rise of noble bloods again!"

Zaiden comprehended that the noble bloods weren't strongest now as they were deemed before. And since the time in the vampire realm worked differently it left a room for any kind of assumption to crawl in.

"And what kind of expectations you have from me? Why would I help you?"

His expressions turned cold, Zaiden didn't expect any good coming from him. Ever since he had arrived in the realm nothing decent happened. His life was endangered and now master Michal knew about his identity, Zaiden required to come up with a plan.

"I can help you teach most arts and techniques related to your element. All you have to do is help me find the other nobles."

Zaiden thought for a moment about the situation. Whereas Curtis silently stayed there waiting for his young master' decision. He kept on listening to their conversation.

Zaiden was already aware of the fact that the vampire realm hadn't had any knowledge about the chaos element. Thus, the only option was to rely over master Michal, Zaiden nodded and agreed to take his offer. The old man smiled and ordered him to come to his office after getting discharged.
