Zaiden woke up with a nightmare, his uneven breathing made it impossible to look out for the surroundings. After Aaron fainted he was sent back to his dorm, while Zaiden was brought to the medical facility of the academy.
Curtis was nowhere to be seen in the huge ward, multiple beds were kept in a row. Apart from Zaiden only four students were residing there, one of them had severe injuries. It seemed the rest three boys got hurt while saving that particular one.
'Where am I? Is this some kind of hospital?'
He searched for Curtis who was nowhere to be seen, with a spinning head Zaiden laid back in the bed. A voice appeared in his head answering the boy.
{How did you like the experience of the power?}
"Who is this?"
Zaiden immediately sat with a fearful gaze, he had never experienced something like that. Being in the black void the only thing he sensed was a sudden yet immense surge of power in his body.
"Who is talking?"
He looked around while whispering, so the other patients might not think he was mad. Or perhaps he lost a screw o two in the duel with Aaron. Curtis had gone on a round to figure out what decision the management took.
{It doesn't matter who am I kid. I'm just here to ensure that you experience the victory, achieve the heights and slaughter the evil.}
Zaiden couldn't understand what he meant by the last part, since he was the evil himself for the killing spree. And considering his revolt against his own bloodline Zaiden was a threat to the vampires.
"From where are you speaking? Come in front of me, why are you hiding?"
He demanded the presence of the speaker since hearing just only the voice made it horrified. Zaiden had only encountered Curtis as the ghost partner, he believed that supernatural existed.
But ghosts were an exception since he never spotted any, it wouldn't be a wonder if Zaiden would have been talking to one at that moment.
{Haha, you sure are an impatient host. Interesting! I chose the right vessel during your birth.}
"I demand your presence at once."
He yelled loudly snagging the attention of all other kids in the hall. Zaiden didn't flinch or bothered their reactions.
{Haha, have some patience, kid. I will appear once you are ready to face me.}
"Oh! Then what do you want?"
Zaiden raised the question and became curious about the voice in his head. He had figured it out that the he required so much understanding of the world. The boy looked around to see if someone was playing tricks on him or the voice was real.
{I'm just here to help you achieve your goal. Nothing else, nothing hidden.}
Zaiden thought for a moment when a female vampire nurse approached him. She had a pale complexion and red blood lips, with crimson eyes the lady stared at him.
"How are you feeling now? Do you feel any headache?"
Her soft voice fell in his ears and Zaiden nodded imminently. Zaiden lifted his arm for her to check for fever, weird. The nurse nodded and gave him a satisfied smile as she went away.
"But what's the catch in this?"
Zaiden' instincts told him to see behind the outlook of the scenario. Since the deal wouldn't be simple as it seemed to appear.
{Clever! I don't need anything else other than your body. I just need you let me stay in your body and be my vessel.}
"Aren't you already residing in my body? Shouldn't you compensate me for occupying my body without my consent?"
As expected from the boy who inherited the genes from his father, Zaiden knew how to curry favors by playing with words. A groaning noise echoed in his head making Zaiden smile over the reaction.

A grin appeared in his eyes as Zaiden made sure to achieve a greater benefit.
"I want whole information on the vampiric powers. Everything you know."
The demon scoffed and replied to his sly demand.
{You can get all this information from the library. You don't need me.}
"I will get boring history and glorious past of vampires, and generic information. But you can give me more insights compared to books."
Zaiden saw the a vague image of the things that demon did back there. He had acknowledged that the demon was powerful enough and knew about vampires a lot.
