"Phew. That was a close one but how do you propose we get past this door that leads to the valley? Hopper, what does this read?"
"First off, I must say; this door is quite intricate and detailed. Reminds me of another ancient civilization that I've been studying recently. They also built their houses in caves and along rock faces. Sadly they too were wiped off without a trace."
"Hopper. Need I remind you that we have a bunch of angry monsters probably on there way back as we speak; so could we hury this up you think and get inside?"
"Calm down. Calm down. Now I only know a few words and phrases in the tongues of angels, but the Holy Spirit will guide me through the rest. It reads:
He who seeks the armored piece trials and errors he must succeed. To make a piece appear one must prove worthy of a noble dear."
"Umm son. I don't speak the angel's tongue but I am pretty sure that lost word was deed and not dear."
"But that doesn't fit the flow and rhyme or make the words you know; punch out at you,"
"What do you think this riddle means?"
"Whatever it means I have a feeling that these pieces won't be easy to spot as we first thought."
"Hopper, whatever you do. Don't overthink it like last time."
"I won't. Now let's see here. All the pieces have a 'of' at the end of it. Belt of truth; shoes of the gospel of peace; helmet of salvation. You get the gist. The riddle next has the phrase trials and errors. More than likely we'll have to overcome something big and only then; when the place we are deams us worthy of the right action will the correct piece come forth. With the breastplate of righteousnes none of us were righteous but we were standing in the pastures of the Living so it was kind of a freebie piece we obtained. With the belt of truth and others it won't be so easy. We'll have to either find the truth in that situation or in ourselves in order to get past. Same goes for every other."
"That all seems fine and dandy Hopper but how do we get past this door?"
"Oh, that's easy. Just say the magic word. HOLY SPIRIT!!!!"
"Hopper, I have to ask.How are you so good at picking meanings out of places?
"Let's just say I'm like Saul. Growing up, I was always good at it to the point where that became my second nature."
"So does that mean you're going to turn good and change your name?"
"Uhh, let's talk about that later. This is my dad's journey and not mine remember? But if you stick with me then we'll definitely blow by these challenges like a breeze."
I took a step into the dark, rounded the first corner then *whack*. Out of the dark something hit me and I was out like a light. The last thing I remember was my dad leaning over me and telling me that it was going to be ok.
