Brother Harvey just gave me a tight hug and comfortingly patted my back. "Let me walk you home."
I nodded. "Thank you-" I caught a glimpse of someone in the corner of my eye and I immediately knew who he was. "Kosair?" I turned to face him who was ten feet away from me and Brother Harvey.
Kosair had a blank look on his face but immediately walked to us and stood close beside me, snaking his hand around my shoulder.
I panicked and felt butterflies in my stomach.
This is a moment in the movies and the books that I've read and I'm experiencing one right now. I am both giddy and anxious because where Kosair's hand is placed is making me feel insecure because it's the fleshy part of the shoulder.
"Harvey" Kosair said with a tone I can't point out.
"Kosair" Brother Harvey responded. "Did you come to get the records? There in my dorm room." Brother Harvey said then glanced at Kosair's hand on my shoulder then looking at me with a concerned look.
"Are you friends?" I ask Brother Harvey and he sighed then smiled at me warmly. "Let's go with that."
I look at Kosair who took a deep breath and huffed. "More like boss and employee."
"Oh? How?" I asked Brother Harvey since Kosair sounds like he's not in the mood.
I could feel Kosair looking at me but I just looked at Brother Harvey.
Brother Harvey looked at Kosair then back at me. "He's the son of the casino's owner."
My eyes widen. "You mean THAT casino?" I asked him.
"Mhm." Brother Harvey nodded in agreement.
I'm a little shaken.
I looked at Kosair and outright asked him. "Did you execute people too?" It was an automatic reaction for me to do. I wanted an answer and I want it now.
Kosair drops his hand from my shoulder, his facial expression changed into a nervous one which made me terrified. My mind started to fog and I feel like my body and mind are on autopilot. I want to go home and hug Bruno. I need to go home.
"I'm gonna go home." I said and quickly start to walk away.
Kosair caught my hand which made me stop. "I'll walk you home, Caroline." I couldn't look at him.
I shook my head frantically. My heart ached and tears are starting to build up in my eyes and that's when Kosair lets go of my hand.
Countless thoughts were filling up my head and I couldn't think straight even if I want to. I couldn't think about one thing which is stopping myself from walking home and apologizing to Kosair for my disrespectful and rude reaction.
I knew that things in the past or in the present like that don't define who you are as a person. As I walk home, I keep thinking of Kosair's first impression which is just a boy who loved to take care of the shelter dogs which one of the reasons why I got infatuated with him.
I stopped in my tracks as I was a few meters away from the gates.
Random thoughts still clouded the way I think but the overpowering though is that I was rude to Kosair and I should apologize.
I decide to turn around but to my surprise, two guys were silently walking up to me with long faces.
"I'm so sorry to both of you." I said as I looked at the ground, avoiding to look at them. "I just need a minute. My mind went blank for a second back there." I look at them with a sad smile. "I'm really sorry Kosair for reacting the way I did."
Kosair shook his head. "No. That was understandable."
"No. it wasn't." I said in disagreement. "I made a mistake and I hope you'll forgive me." I gave Kosair deep bow.
One walked up to me and the shoes were Kosair's. He held my shoulders and made me stand up straight. "You didn't do anything wrong. Trust me." He looked at me with his electric blue eyes that pierced right into my soul. It made my heart jump and my mind stop thinking about everything else but him.
"I think you should go home, Kosair." Brother Harvey said as he placed a hand on Kosair's shoulder.
They stared at each other with a blank expression.
Kosair looked at me and gave me a smile. "I'll see you soon."
"Be safe." I replied and he started to walk away, giving Brother Harvey a last cold glance before disappearing from the corner of the street.
Brother Harvey sighed and then looked at me with a concerned look. "I guess there's another story I have to tell you. Would you like to hear it?" He offered. A good story time with Brother Harvey is all I need to calm down. He knows me better than anybody else, even Briana.
I nodded. "I need company. I'm still nervous about what Joey said earlier." I admitted.
Brother Harvey gave me a tight bear hug which had me elevated in mid-air.
"Don't worry, Caro. I'll always protect you, remember?" He said as he grinned like a fool.
I laughed in defeat. "Yeah, I remember. Let me down so I can open the gate." I laughed.
Brother Harvey sets me down and I take out the gate key from my pocket.

Brother Harvey's POV
I set her down and watched her carefully. She's and innocent girl with a good soul. Ever since that day, I swore that I'd protect her with my life.
I whisper to myself. "I'll care for you forever." I smiled as I look at her. The embodiment of the most perfect girl in my eyes.
"I know you will." She replied as she giggled. I stood there in shock, embarrassed that she heard me.
I smile and laugh with her. "Good girl."
Yes.
What a good girl she is.
