Kole pushed me down into the lake like if he were a kelpie. His auburn hair shined but what caught me off-guard was his majestic red regal tail that replaced his legs.
I bent a little and bit his arm which made him stop swimming. I pushed him off of me and desperately try to swim up when I was dragged down again by him.
A shining blue tail appeared before I closed my eyes, almost giving up. I could hear tail flaps and finally, someone pulled me to the surface.
After a few moments of clouded vision and ringing in my ears, I see Kosair above me, looking like he's seen a ghost.
"Caroline!" He exclaimed. Then I looked at his tail. I couldn't believe that he...his family...are sirens. This doesn't happen in real life! "Thank goodness you're alive!" Kosair said as he went in for a hug but I moved back, making him look at me with worry and sadness.
I looked around and saw Kole emerge from the water with a big wound on his shoulder like someone had used a dagger against him.
Miss Olivia and Mr. Krum held their hands on their ears and they look to be in pain. Sir Krum placed something in his ears and grabbed Kole by the shoulder.
"To the dungeon, Kole. We've had enough of your doing!" Sir Krum said. My eyes widened as Sir Krum lifted his hand and trapped Kole in a ball of water and taking him back to their mansion, the sphere full of water slowly turning red as the blood slowly colored it.
Olivia took me to the family clinic where I was treated and Kosair offered to take me home.
I had a lot to process in my mind and I wanted space. Not only that the whole family is sirens but they also have powers too. Apparently, sir Krum has the ability to control water.
"No...it's fine. I'll just call Harvey to pick me up." I said to which his face grew sad. Kosair never told me that he liked me so I didn't want to assume but now, he's giving it away. To be honest, I don't have the energy and the right mind to process this because of how surreal Kole's revelation was to me.
Kosair looked at me with a small smile and gave me his phone. I texted Harvey the address to which he replied that he was on his way.
We sat near each other in the clinic room for an awkward while but I was curious about one thing that happened earlier.
"Kosair...I have something to ask you?" I looked at Kosair who was aimlessly looking out the window then tun to look at me with a fake smile.
"What is it?" I can tell that he has bottled up feelings inside. Maybe he's disappointed with how I reacted to them. Offended, hurt...I don't know anymore.
"Why did all of you freeze when I was being dragged out to the lake by Kole?" Not only I can get answers to what Kole's hidden ability is but to also get a throughout explanation in the whole family's agenda.
Kosair nodded and bit his lip in irritation. I furrowed my brows since I didn't want to think that I was the cause of his irritation and I didn't mean to make him angry.
Yes. I was the one that almost died but I can't live knowing that someone is hurt because of me right in front of my eyes.
I looked at Kosair and all of that emotion disappeared and now he looked emotionless. I was nervous and worried.
What did I do?
