I didn't like our chances of defeating all the giants. Moreover, I couldn't see Raptor anywhere near.
What was Raptor up to? The giants were standing still and heavy like bodyguards of the mountain. Mark decided to go around the mountain to the other side via the trees path. Oliver and I were still hiding behind trees, looking at the giants.
What could be done to defeat them? Even if we were able to beat them somehow, the mountain was huge! I was sure to have trouble getting up the steep mountain. The peak was nearly touching the clouds and I had a bad feeling that we weren't ready for such a journey upwards.
Mark was right about one thing: The air was totally dry here. I gulped up the water I had. Oliver was still trying to preserve some just in case. The mountain was charged with negative atmosphere and I felt sick standing there.
That's when I found Mark rushing towards us. I cursed him for making noise but the giants weren't attentive enough. "A warship is coming. They may be your friends!" Mark whispered. We looked above to see a small figure in the sky making its way to the mountain.
We had to stop them. They were unaware of the giants guarding every side of the mountain. "I'll take care of this." I said. Unsheathing Magnum, I threw the battle-axe in the sky with superb force to aim at the warship. I concentrated and the battle-axe magically appeared right in front of Xavier's ship. The ship had an abrupt stop.
I tilted my hand and so did Magnum, showing his blade down towards us. I saw a frightened Xavier stretching his neck to look at us. His face changed into joy and he understood. Not getting any closer to the mountain he flew the ship towards us. By that time, Magnum had magically appeared back to my hand.
The warship landed on the ground, away from the mountain so that the giants wouldn't hear them. We had a reunion. "Guys, we missed you!" Xavier began and then stared at Mark. We introduced the now normal Mark to everyone and told them the whole story.
We had a little time of talking about what had happened. They were shocked to know that I was dead and who my real father was. "Blaze, I feel bad for you to have such a father!" Lily exclaimed. I looked at Amanda who was still getting things into her mind. She was my cousin sister. It was a weird relation and Amanda was having trouble to get over it as much as I did.
"What should we do about the giants?" Oliver broke the silence. "My warship can take out about ten of them guarding the base but there are more above. We will not succeed with this plan." Xavier concluded. That's when Mark had a scream. He suppressed his excitement and spoke up, "Guys, I now remember. I was present when one of the giants was talking about the Night of Xorains. 21st November is the Night of Xorains!" We all were silent, thinking about the date.
"This means that we only have four days. It is 17th November today." Amanda declared. Then we heard the ground shaking. We looked at the mountain to see another giant making his way to his brothers. "Brothers, Raptor has set to capture Drakolleus. He should soon have the dragon with him." The giant stated.
We looked at each other with amazement. We made our way back to our discussion point. "Raptor is going to capture Drakolleus? Who is Drakolleus though?" Oliver enquired. "The giant said it is a dragon." I answered. Lily's face had a shocked look. "I got it! Master Polwern had once told me a tale about the dragons when I was a child."
"Then what are you waiting for? We are all ears for the tale." Mark declared. Lily said, "I don't remember the story perfectly. But Master Polwern does. I think we should head to Hilton town."
