EPISODE 8
" It begins a few weeks ago. Someone, unknown, texted me and been sending me pictures of me and saying that they will meet me. I thought it was just a prankster and they will stop, but before you were coming, someone knocks on my door. I look outside but no one there. I got freaks out because I thought they wouldn't find me here." she told him all about the stalker. He listens to her carefully. He looks very concerned about her because he has never seen her like that.
When he saw her trembling and sobbing, he felt his heartaches and feel quite powerless because he couldn't do anything.
"Do you still keep their number? "he said as he held her hand slowly caressing it. She blushed at the sudden contact of his hand against her.
" The first time, I blocked their number but they keep coming back, texting me with a new number again and again. I tried to hide it and ignored it, but it been getting on my nerves because they wouldn't stop. I keep all the evidence on my phone. I thought I was just being paranoid and careful. However, they now know where I live. I'm scared. "
He noticed that this wasn't the first time that she was having a panic attack. She probably had it once before. Because of what he did not know yet.
"No, no, that okay. All the numbers you have blocked and the evidence, can you make a copy for me? I'll figure out how to handle that stalker, okay? And no, you're not being paranoid. I'll protect you, Anya. I will always."
His warm smile is contagious, as the corners of her mouth involuntarily turn upwards.
"Don't worry okay? I wouldn't let them hurt you" he stated while he engulfed her in a tight bear hug.
"Thanks, Jackson. I really appreciate that so much" she said as she hugged him back. Anya didn't know how his comfort makes her so relaxed. She was really grateful when she saw Jackson when he arrives then jump from the car and hug her.
" Glad, I could help," he replied before part both of them but still in his embrace. He slowly raised his fingers to stroke her cheek. Anya smiled and held his hand, she looked into his eyes and he held her gaze lockingly.
" Have you eaten yet? " he asked, still stroking her cheek.
She shakes her head, replied " no, I haven't. " He nodded and began to lift himself up. Anya too getting up then walking to the kitchen.
"If you want, I can prepare dinner for both of us if you don't mind eating here. But, I mean, I don't know if it suits your taste and it's not fancy" she continued blabbering and he found it was adorable how she was fluttering when she was trying to invite him to dine in.
As he comes near he widens his eyes still further and arches his eyebrows in an enquiring expression but she shakes her head realizing she was blabbering nonsense then he wanders away again.
"Don't worry Anya. I already buy some foods for us to eat together before I came here"
"Oh, okay then," she nodded and again proceeded to her cupboard over the kitchen sink, this time bringing out a deep bowl.
"I'll make some dessert then and what you would like to drink?"
"Anything. I'll go take the food in the car for a minute. You wait here, okay? " He raised his head to look at her, meeting her eyes and giving her a smile, causing a faint blush to appear on her cheeks. So adorable.
She nodded then turned her gaze away then proceed with what she is going to make. Jackson simply chuckled in return, continue to walk out to his car, taking out their food.
He joined her not long after, putting a few food containers onto the island. He took out the food and Anya takes it to reheat on the stove as Jackson helps her to cut some of the fruits that Anya has prepared.
Both of them work together so well helping each other and once the desert is ready, they began to eat their dinner in silence.
Once they are done, he helps her cleaning the dishes even Anya told him that she could do that but he ignored her and began taking the plate and washed it. Closing her eyes and sighing in defeat, she slowly moved towards the table, picking up the container and hand it to Jackson while she put the plates that have been wash into the dish dryer.
He put the knife he was washing in the dish drainer and dried his hands on a paper towel. He then walked over to the sofa where Anya already make hot choco for both of them to drink.
Anya turn on her tv, look next to her, asking Jackson what he wants to watch. In response, he shrugged and said he doesn't have any preference. Nodding her head, her fingers click on the Shadow and Bone series that have been added to her list.
Anya flinched as she heard the ringing sound coming out from Jackson's phone. He mumbled sorry then draw his phone out of his pocket, answering the phone.
"I'm at Anya. Why? "
"About the deal? No, I have handled it"
At the same time, Kitty texted Anya that she won't be back for tonight and going to sleep at Alana's house since they both have some plans to do it together the next day.
She texted in her group asking if any of her friends can sleep over for tonight but unfortunately, they were all busy. Anya shudders at the idea of staying alone at night after the incident. She looks over at Jackson who was still on the phone beside her.
Should I ask him to accompany me for tonight? But we don't have any spare room. He probably will refuse. He seems busy with his work but I don't want to be alone. I should ask him.
Jackson noticed Anya was looking at him so he raised his eyebrows and spread out his hand, miming What happens now?
Anya leans over and whispers in his ear, " Can you stay for tonight if you don't mind?"
Jackson nodded then continued to his calls.
" And Danny, can you send my clothes to Anya? Yes, right now. Along with my laptop. Okay, thanks" he answered before he hangs up from the call.
"Thanks" She thanked him, and lift her cup to take a sip on her drink as she brushed her hair aside.
" You're welcome. I couldn't let you alone at the house while Kitty is with Maxwell in the club."
" Maxwell is with Kitty? " she asked in confusion. He nodded in assent telling her that they met coincidently and decided to hang out together at the bar.
" She's not returning home for tonight. She will go to my friend house since they have a business together tomorrow and I don't feel I want to be alone for tonight'
"I know. I will feel worried about letting you here alone" he said before he turns his attention back to the Netflix.
Soon after that, Danny comes to send his clothes and all his necessity along with his laptop. He greets Anya before he pardons himself, leaving both of them alone again.
Both of them take turns to take a shower. After wearing his clothes, Jackson came out of the bathroom.
Anya looks up, meeting his eyes, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. Nothing unusual, just a handsome man, standing in front of you, with his hair wet and his fresh scent, looking absolutely like a snack. She gulped before she let a heavy breath, opening her eyes again.
Jackson was oblivious that she was blushing and proceeded to sit on her desk, opening his laptop and continued with his work. Anya shakes her head from thinking negative thought and pick up her book from her nightstand while lean on the headboard.
Don't worry. Nothing happens to both of them. After Jackson was finished with his work, Anya closes her book too as Jackson lay next to him. Anya told him to sleep next to him because she wants to feel someone's presence beside her to make her feel safe. Then the night goes as they both peacefully sleep.
